I was locating the entrance. Since the hallways in the pyramid slope downwards, mining down the correct side makes a significant difference (much fewer blocks mined and mining sand instead of sandstone)

@@halica4131 The game selects a random tile around the player and scans downwards until it finds a solid block. If this solid block is in certain range (basically slightly off-screen) a mob will be able to spawn, otherwise it will fail. Having a long bridge with open air above it makes it likely for mobs to spawn on the bridge, because all the air tiles are tiles that will scan downwards until they reach the bridge
I think the only thing you can improve now is about finding new optimised routes. Like I wonder if making the hellevator in the jungle, so you can loot & scoot for pantera faster latter in the game ?
1. The house is set up to be a valid house so I can move the mechanic in. This frees up a house at spawn for Arms Dealer (needed for unholy arrows for pillars) or for Dryad (buff helps during Twins/Prime fight). I also get to overlap some of the shimmering wait time with buying items from Mechanic this way. 2. The main things to shimmer are recall potions (for specular fish to craft seafood dinners), anvils (for iron bars), suspicious looking eye (for lens to craft Twins summon), emblem (reroll to warrior emblem), molten pickaxe (to craft molten chestplate), and potions that I don't need (for herbs to craft potions I do need). 3. The crafting positions are placed such that I can use them while sleeping. Sleeping speeds up time by 5x, which allows night 2 to arrive sooner (mech bosses are nocturnal). I craft things that I'll need for the rest of the run while sleeping 4. NPCs teleport during nighttime, either to a physical chair if there is one near their house or just to their house. I look at the NPCs on the map so that I can know when it turns night. 5. After mechs I wire a logic sensor and and active stone block so that I don't need to use sand to bedwarp. The sensor detects when the player is above. When the player is at the bed, the stone block is active, which makes the house too small to be valid, so you recall to spawn. When the player is not at the bed, the stone block is inactive and the house is valid again, so the next recall is to the bed.
The house is meant for speedrunning specifically, some items won't fit in the pool and some will clip into the wall. For casual playthroughs I usually just use treasure magnet or use a bigger pool
Don't you just need 4 walls for it to count as housing? I always build it like that, 4 background walls horizontally and that's it. I'm a casual player so idk, I don't know speedrun strats or complicated mechanics.
