This is the first time I'm seeing your videos. The fact that you don't have a fancy setup for your proxxon and you just slap it on your stove is encouraging!
"I made it to the end without a fumble." I was almost beginning to think that was your 'youtube thing', like other content creators have their catchfrase. Lots of fun watching this, like all your other stuff.
So, simple answer: yes. More in depth answer. Unless you mix all your flock into your glue, which isn’t really meant for flat surfaces like that, more so creeping moss on the sides of stuff, you’re eventually gonna wear the flock off the piece that way. Even if you’re super careful, just the normal jostling is eventually going to take that flocking off. NOW, depending on your level of use and abuse, that could take 2 sessions, could take 20years! And if you think that the risk vs rewards ratio is appropriate, absolutely do it! But I personally, am lazy, and don’t wanna have to go back and remake something I already made once, ya know?
When i add sand to stuff i like to use some isopropyl (80% or better) while the glue is still wet. This helps with the sand flaking off. Then i add some 50/50 glue and water.
Hey Garmen! Random compliment, but I've been watching basically since the beginning and I'm just now noticing how great your teeth are 😬 Now relating to the video, I really like how you differentiated the dirt and stone texture on the sides of the stackers. I'm definitely going to incorporate that into the ones I've been working on recently
Thank you! I can’t honestly say that’s a compliment I’ve ever received before, but I’ll take it! And thank you! I really think it makes a big difference!
Making horizontal cuts in the side of the rock with. A knife usually produces great pine bark, sedimentary rock results too if you want to go the extra mile ❤
@@StorycraftSociety I wonder if you could also get a good sedimentary rock effect by sandwiching lots of thin sheets of foam together; possibly using several different thicknesses of foam to vary the the sediment layers.
that looks so cool, could have used something like this when my players found a beach......"butt hole beach"......I did not know till after i described it that is what it looked like. But there was two ways out of it one was a cave....and the other was kind of a cliff-side aahh fun.
Well, that’s a fair point. But my counter point would be, you have a lot of terrain you WANT to make, but have you made it? If not, why not make these for now, and if you ever run out of room/ don’t see much use in these, give them/throw them away.

Haha if I ever have a RUclips thing I certainly hope it WOULDNT be a fumble!
Just finished making a set. Using needle nose pliers to make the dirt texture was brilliant. Thanks for sharing!
A chunk of asphalt is really good in place of a aluminum ball
Simple and nice!Maybe... The next video can be the "seasonal terrain" you talked about?
Thanks for the idea! Seasonal is definitely on the docket
Those are really nice, thank you for sharing your craft and talent.
Very nice. The simple addition of ramps, etc., adds so much versatility to the entire set
Oh my yes! And I do love my versatility!
Some very interesting techniques! Great vid!
Fantastic. Just need a cave.
Yeeeah, that occurred to me after I did the video.
Great Video, I made the og stackers .... time to make some more
Dang it's cold in here too . . . . dang. . . . . . dang
That’s awesome! Glad you enjoyed them both!
Great! I'm a huge fan of reusable multi-purpose things and these stackers look extremely useful.
Thanks a bunch for this video!
They absolutely are!
When it warms up a bit I will have to make some of these! :D
You definitely should!
I went to school with Cliff Stackers
wow that looks great
Thank you!
I need to see how you make your trees. Also, I love your content!
So, it depends which ones haha. But they’re pretty much all covered in the back catalog!
Could you flock the underside to allow for modulation of vegetation and season? Flip it for grasslands or drylands

@@StorycraftSociety thanks for your response! Makes perfect sense. I might just do a little coat of green with some light green dry brushing 👍

Ever consider using a geode for texture? Or a lighter to lightly texture foam?
You could absolutely use a Geode. I just use tinfoil cus, well, I’ve always got it on hand.
There are no mistakes in crafting. As Bob Ross said "It's a Happy Accident "

Oooooh! I gotta try that! That’s a great idea!!

Where did you get the make up brush for dry brushing?
Honestly, I don’t remember haha, any makeup brush will do so long as the bristles are nice a soft.
Wow that’s awesome dude, I will be following more need to build me a little course for my 1/24 scale’s
Feels like there will be a "Dry Time" song in the future 😂
Oh I’m sure!

Oh that sounds neat!
Was that 2 inch foam board?
What's that mat you're using
The battle mat or to cut?
@@StorycraftSociety the battle mat!
Good old dry-time.
DRYYYY TIIIIMEEE ::shakes fist at sky::
Good realism for relatively little time investment
My thoughts as well! That’s my favorite kind of craft! Minimal effort for maximum return!
oh i really need something like this but not sure if i have enough space :/ considering the large amounts of other terrain i wanna make

@@StorycraftSociety that’s true, i guess i can donate it to my local gaming club or something if i need more space
Ummm... my dude... you have uploaded video of you cutting styrofoam on your wife's stove....
You are a mad man!! ;)
Hahaha! She doesn’t mind, and with the setup I have, the mess is really minimal actually!
Greetings. I have some doubts How big are the cliffs?
I made them out of two inch foam. So average at minimum, 10ft in game. But if you stack em’, sky’s the limit then!
"Dang" then, eh?
Dang indeed
Hmm...
🤔
