The Dirt Road Drive to Animas Forks, Colorado: Real-Time Dashcam Version

This drive takes you from Silverton, Colorado to the ghost town of Animas Forks, deep within the San Juan Mountains. It's an incredibly beautiful drive on a dirt-road scenic byway that's best done with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, or at least something that's high-clearance. You should check for current road conditions before you go.
This is a re-edit of a drive I made back in October, 2012. After many requests, I'm reposting some of my videos in real-time. We have been there several times since the early 1980"s. We plan to be there again in about 4 weeks. There are many great Jeep trails in the area. If off roading is not your cup of tea there are Jeep tours in Silverton that do the driving for you.

Amazing drive. The normal speed is good, I prefer to watch it with ×1,25 speed. That works properly with the music, too.

@@MommaZim2 there's 3 littles dots in the corner of the screen press that and then you should see playback speed click on that and see what options works best for you.

this is a very late reply, but I have seen a few do it, but it's a rough ride for the average car, might be a few spots you could have issues. but there is usually plenty of people around to help during the summer, last time I went was in my land rover discovery so I didn't really think about it to much.
