there are several things that i love from your video...1) NO annoying music in the background what a relief is that...2) You have a very nice way to teach us how it is done...easy and to the point 3) no speedy gonzalez mode....ahhhh what a beautiful thing is to watch a video at normal speed 4) you are a real artist the piece turned out gorgeous... so in a nut shell I am subscribing and following you...thank you and please do not change or copy the other idiotic people in utube that think music, fast speed is a good thing to add in a video....but forget that content is king.
@@TheTopDrawerRVA speeding up a video is an insult (in my view) to the viewers who want to enjoy the full experience and learn from the video. Full speed..that is what tiktok is all about...:)
Love this!! I’m sooo glad this popped up on my RUclips feed tonight. I have my husband’s grandparents ceramic butter churn (he got it from his mom’s yesterday) and he said “I thought you could paint it and use it for staging” and I said “yes!! I’m going to do patina on it!” Talk about timing! I would’ve never thought about putting all those blues down as a base coat, plus the rust and copper with the blue spray (vs the green), all make for what I envisioned for the churn. Like I said, timing!!
I’ve been following you for a while now but never have commented. I love all your work and your voice is so sweet!! I can tell you are a genuinely good person! ❤️
I was also having trouble with activation. The activater would soak in and just dry. I left my project out side and it rained. That fixed it! So i learned that it needs moisture just like real rust.
Hey Melissa!!! I’ve painted a piece two days ago with the silk line. Can I still use the iron and copper on it?? Or does the iron and copper just need to be wet?
Hi there. Question...I thought you had to do two coats of the copper, etc and let it dry then do a second coat then spray the patina. Will the effects be the same with just one coat? I haven't used patina paints yet. Little nervous lol. This piece is absolutely beautiful
Beautiful piece and good teacher

I speed up some but most people say they like it longer! I’m glad to hear it. Thank you for joining me!

Hey!! Any color combo suggestions if I wanted to do the base in light and dark greys? Blue patina as opposed to green? Love this piece to pieces!!
Oh I’m a big fan of the green on copper and iron.
Amazing😍😍😍
Thanks 🤗
Hi from Alamogordo, NM!!
Hello there!
An absolutely beautiful transformation! Do you need to put some type of sealer on the mirror ti protect the crusty areas from flaking off?
Clear coat was used to seal.
Hey Melissa!!! I’ve painted a piece two days ago with the silk line. Can I still use the iron and copper on it?? Or does the iron and copper just need to be wet?
Patina products need to be wet. Then you can spray and activate.

You can do two thin coats. I use a lot of product and just do one coat. It works fine as long as it’s wet.
@@TheTopDrawerRVA thank you! I'd rather do it in one coat. LOL can't wait to play with it.
Went to facebook page and looked and looked but did not find the finished mirror.???
It’s on my IG & FB page. From last year.
Hello from Murfreesboro Tennessee. Will you seal this piece, if so with waxes? Thank you, this a saver video.
I sea with clear coat or patina guard. Then use black wax for depth if I need it.
Hi,
I am Ashley Wheeler, and I am doing Lanterns or Sconces on my house. I have never done this before and would like to talk.
What is the slick stick mention in vidio
Hello! Slick stick is a product that allows gripping of paint to any slick or shiny surface. Plastic, metal or glass. This frame was plastic.
question...the first round of paint is the one with metal? or regular paint?
The blues have no metal.
@@TheTopDrawerRVA got it...thank you so much for answering my question
I lose things all the time. Hid $6000 & know can’t remember where I put it 😢
