In this business it's never what-you-know. It's always WHO-you-know. These guys should have been big but they obviously weren't friends with Mick Jagger or Jimmy Page...
I know who the "Guy from the cab "is!!! This is my Uncle Bernies band. Bernie now drives a London cab. A few weeks ago he picked up a person from Waterloo Station and the "Guy in the Cab" said he was a musician so Bernie started talking about his band T2 . The guy in the cab remembered Bernies band. So Bernie asked "What was your band?" The "Guy in the Cab" replied "LED ZEPPLIN" . Jimmi Page and Bernie didnt recognise him!
I still have the lp under rated band in a time when somutch was comeing out some fell thru the cracks its good this stuff is up on the web for folks who never got chance to hear
a song from my early teens! just found it again,a track from it'll all work out in boomland, why do we all still drool over all the big names when wev'e got this, iv'e just had an afternoons great entertainment listening to this!for free, no shite staduims and no more inflated prices for hot dogs & coke etc. It's for free!
Someone is sitting there Someone who doesn't care Someone who only stares No one is on your side You've got nowhere to hide There's no white horse to ride away No more white horses for you to ride away No more white horses so you must stay where you are Where you are No more white horses for you to ride away No more white horses so you must stay where you are Where you are Where you are No more white horses for you to ride away No more white horses so you must stay
what is so beautiful about this is that is hasn't been touched by classic rock radio. or any crappy movie.Truly a spiritual experience listening to this. share only with friends
First heard this back in 76 or 77. A college buddy turned me on to it. Awesome album. Never could find a new copy on vinyl (have a couple used copies) so was real happy when I finally found it on CD.
barrett5169 is absolutely right that 99% of the population have never heard of T-2 or Please or this classic song, a 3 minute piece by Please turned 8 plus minute opus by T-2. Follows the shift from psych to progressive rock.
@rathert3 me too, I've been rocking this version for a couple of years and only recently discovered the Please version, which is now in very high rotation! As you say, both classics, and probably both unknown by 99% of the population....
T2's two albums are absolutely perfect slabs of Ripping Guitar-driven Hard Rock with few equals and on a par with Sabs, Zep & Purple c.1971 (ie at their Heights!)
I saw them in Blackpool ( The Dead End club at the Sttaion pub) in the early 1970's. ( I still have my membership card showing the entry!!) Went and bought the album the next day. I srtill have it, play it regularly and it still rocks now! As already posted, I could never understand why they were never up there with the best - Zep, Purple, Sabbath, Uriah Heep etc
I was sorting my LP collection ready to digitise it (no more HiFi) and came across this record the other day. Struck a chord then as I always remember seeing T2 at Ewell Tech (now Nescot). The golden 7 years of progressive rock. May have seen them at Leeds as well.
I still am unwilling to believe no footage whatsoever is known to exist for T.2. !No one took a cine camera to a gig?No fan off-tv recordings?Truely a crying shame there. However, thank you to the poster and RUclips for sharing this audiophonic gem!!Am still hoping thier appearence on BBCTV show Disco2 from 1970 may turn up,fingers crossed!!Does anyone have any LIVE T.2. might consider posting? Thanks again and KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!
so many years on and sort of heard just about everything but boomland has to be the greatest piece of music ever recorded...just think it was only just a couple of years before this when when the beatles were loving you yeah yeah yeah...what a monumental jump in just a short time...fuckin amazin
. . er, this is from 1970! A couple of years before this the Beatles had already done Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper and were working on the White Album. Don't try to be clever when knocking the Beatles - you'll just trip yourself up.
This album is brilliant from beginning to end. What a great early prog album, The Swedish prog band Landberk do a very good cover of No More White Horses on their 1992 release, Lonely Land.
There were a ton of bands back then that opted to record their music over chasing a pop hit! If only the internet had existed back then. So much incredible music was lost because the record companies controlled what was recorded and released.
I got this album years ago... they were well ahead of their time! Missed out by one night seeing them live (Support to Stray) in london as I had to fly back to Australia! Was spewing! Recentrly heard that Pete Dutton occasionally doesa live gigs as T2 in Thailand (Pattaya etc). Would love to see that!
I was always intrigued by the cover art of this album which for me reflected the bleakness and gloom of the music. On the back cover, on the ground beneath the '2.' there is a crucifixion scene in the distance that I was able to verify with a magnifying glass 45 years ago when I purchased the original issue LP. This video shows it at several places, for instance at 5:40. The onion domes on the front cover suggest to me the spires of Russian Orthodox Churches.
Hi, Its great to know that Bernie is still around. I knew the band back in the seventies (met them at the Marquee). I emailed Peter (Dunton) a couple of years ago to ask if he was still in touch with Bernie and Keith but he said he had lost contact. I don't suppose Bernie knows where Keith is and what he's doing these days? Give my best to Bernie even though I don't suppose he will remember me. Best wishes Chris
Most of the comments really say it here.F-ing Rocks Man!Have only recently discovered this great group.I have also learned that T.2. appeared on a 1970 edition of BBCTV show Disco2.Was wondering if anyone knows or have heard of any footage-visual material in existence for T.2?Photos of TV spots?Just wondering is all. Thanks for uploading here on RUclips!KEEP ON ROCKIN'!
I've got the vinyl album, bought in Germany at the time. I was really into it and couldn't understand why they weren't bigger, but then they just seemed to disappear out of sight. Never met anybody else who had the album. My favourite band at the time were Led Zeppelin and still are to this day. I really don't think T2 were in the same league but it was early days and who knows if they had continued their writing may have produced something better. Their sound was a bit thin as a three piece.
Official reissue this year in Japan: www.discogs.com/T2-Itll-All-Work-Out-In-Boomland/release/8810462 Also official Acme/Lion reissue from 2008: www.discogs.com/T2-It-ll-All-Work-Out-In-Boomland/release/2253400 Fill your boots!!
Man, du checkst nix, das ist für die dameilige Zeit eine absolute Ausnahmeplatte gewesen ! Komplexes Gitarrenspiel. Was ist heute ? Fucking Rap + Hiphopp....!!!! Nur Computerfuck, bub bub bub. Die konnten damals noch spielen !!!! Ciao.....
Good idea Squid!! Suggest it to the man in the cab. I'll be seeing Bernie in June and will also suggest it to him. In fact was speaking to Bernies wife, my Aunt, this morning organising a family reunion so why not a T2 reunion? Will let ya know if its a go!!
No there was a live performance of Careful Sam on Disco 2 the forerunner to the Whistle Test in 1970 which I saw on TV when I was 18 and it blew me away. Peter Dunton told me that the BBC wiped the tape. Bastards.
This song absolutely rocks, these guys should've been in the same league as Zep, Purple and Sabbath

Probably the best psychedelic reality song I've ever had the pleasure of hearing on my earbuds.
I still have the lp under rated band in a time when somutch was comeing out some fell thru the cracks its good this stuff is up on the web for folks who never got chance to hear
keith cross is no less than page, hendrix or carlos santana, but he's been forgotten...I wonder when the world will discover this immortal beauty
i first heard this album in its entirety on Kid Jensen`s program " Underground Incident" on Radio Lux in 1970. it has been a fav ever since!!
a song from my early teens! just found it again,a track from it'll all work out in boomland, why do we all still drool over all the big names when wev'e got this, iv'e just had an afternoons great entertainment listening to this!for free, no shite staduims and no more inflated prices for hot dogs & coke etc. It's for free!
I just in the past year discovered T2 & this fantastic album!! Amazing stuff. It is a shame that this band is so obscure & underappreciated!!!
My head just exploded...
Used to see T2 at the 'Temple' in wardour street many years ago....great then and now!
Someone is sitting there
Someone who doesn't care
Someone who only stares
No one is on your side
You've got nowhere to hide
There's no white horse to ride away
No more white horses for you to ride away
No more white horses so you must stay where you are
Where you are
No more white horses for you to ride away
No more white horses so you must stay where you are
Where you are
Where you are
No more white horses for you to ride away
No more white horses so you must stay
One of my favourite songs of all time. I wish I was around in the day of music like this. Thanks to my dad for showing me this band.
how I missed this gem back in the 70,s I don't know but playing it daily now.
The brass is killer.
I only discovered this a year ago.
Hugely impressed & literally they were only kids.
WOW ! This popped up in my feed after Titus Groan....off to buy the CD
what is so beautiful about this is that is hasn't been touched by classic rock radio. or any crappy movie.Truly a spiritual experience listening to this. share only with friends
just an eargasm...
This song is f@&$ amazing!
I REMEMBER HEARING THESE GUYS MANY YEARS AGO BUT DIDN'T FIND THEM AGAIN FOR 40 FUCKIN YEARS! WOW! I LIKE.
Always been a favourite!
Wonderful Song!
Thank You! I Have Not Heard This Song In 35 Years. We Skipped School And Bought This Album. Brings Back Old Memories!
First heard this back in 76 or 77. A college buddy turned me on to it. Awesome album. Never could find a new copy on vinyl (have a couple used copies) so was real happy when I finally found it on CD.
Yeah.....Landberk was who I had in mind, they were fantastic...Thanks for the reply!! :)
this is a masterpiece of a song! I always loved it...

This is timeless it could be re released any time.
Credevo fosse un brano originale dei Landberk ed invece mi sbagliavo. Enorme!
I saw them in Blackpool ( The Dead End club at the Sttaion pub) in the early 1970's. ( I still have my membership card showing the entry!!) Went and bought the album the next day. wow...
I second that they were in a league of their own.No other band can compare!!

Decca use to have offices in Shepherds Bush (Where the shopping centre is now) That's where my cousin picked this up from. Over thirty years ago.
This album is brilliant from beginning to end.

Thats my Uncle Bernie. He is only a couple of years older than me and still lives in Romford. They also played the Isle Of Wight.
I met him once-lovely guy-it was after Keith had left, the new guy was great but not the same
Nice one, cheers.
@gremke3 there is another album "Bored Civilians" by
Keith Cross with Peter Ross (1972) also published by Deram is quite good
I was always intrigued by the cover art of this album which for me reflected the bleakness and gloom of the music. This is why records are the best, you can really get lost looking in some of those old album covers.

My bad. I am going to have to watch that film again. retracted.
This is fucking incredible
I don't know which is better, Please's version of this song, or the T-2 version found here. Both are absolute British psych classics.
@joeyrider Thanks. I have that one already. I was looking for similar bands to T2.
Great band.
At times the singer reminds me of Keith Relf of the Yardbirds.
As a matter of fact, the music has a bit of of a Yardbirds vibe too.
Fucking beautiful!Well done!
omfg
Rock on!
holy fuckk man good tune
Never dates because it was so different !
Kick Smack. Dig the poppy minarets in the cover art. Just direct enough.
Loughlin -Utica NY

No there was a live performance of Careful Sam on Disco 2 the forerunner to the Whistle Test in 1970 which I saw on TV when I was 18 and it blew me away. Peter Dunton told me that the BBC wiped the tape. Bastards.
phykadelic
Excellent. Is "It'll All Work Out In Boomland" their only album?
@TheBlackycat Fancy selling one of your old vinyl copies? ;)
There was another band that covered this song, and it was fantastic......would you happen to know who it was? I forgot their name.....
