Hope you had an awesome Christmas! Ain't nothing wrong with you deciding to play silent hill 2 first, that game is amazing. I only played it for the first time about 8 years ago and it smashed into my top 5 favorite games of all time which haven't budged since I was in college. Battle of Olympus I rented that game a billion times when I was a kid always got stuck at the same part, red snake skins. I eventually looked it up late in life and was like "I would never have found these...ever", hopefully you have better understanding. Shining Force felt like a SNES game that snuck over to the Genesis except the audio blow out when you chonk an enemy in the head with a weapon, what is up with you Genesis sound!?! Be better.

Hope you had a great Christmas Luke! I agree December 26th is a bit of a let down. However, the week between Christmas and New Year's was always a great week to relax, eat leftovers, and play your new (or backlog) games. Hope it's like that for you too!

Great list! Definitely some good games coming your way in 2024! I'm really hoping to make a good dent in my backlog next year, but I said the same thing this time last year and that didn't turn out well! Like you, I'm trying to get a list of priorities.
Whatever you do, don't let Koudelka put you off the Shadow Hearts games if you don't enjoy it. It's very slow and a bit janky by today's standards, and doesn't have the ring battle system of Shadow Hearts, which is awesome. Most people like Covenant the best (which I can understand!), but I loved all three Shadow Hearts games. Wish the series could come back.

Koudelka is a brilliant game with a lot of secrets so if you're going to play it may i suggest you do some research into it first, think it's some of the characters "Ultimate" weapons etc are hidden behind some timed events etc. Though i completed the game first time without them, so they're not massively needed. edit: You also got a new sub for having that as your first game :P

So far I'm finished Dragon Quest 11(started Last year), UN Squadron, kick master and Sekiro. Now I'm playing sonic frontier and really enjoying way more than I expected. I wanna play inferniax, crusader no remorse and gen shadow run from your list. Some games on my radar and I'll want to get to this year are kao the kangaroo(really want a fun 3d platformer), shnobi(ps2), prison city, robo cop(new one), gun valkyrie and returnal off the top of my head.

Last of Us 2 - yea the Joel scene is ROUGH,but glad you already know about it! I enjoyed it overall.
RE2 remake was a ton of fun for me. i had never played the original. I played it nonstop for weeks and was able to do a couple speed runs to get trophies.
Max Payne is freaking amazing! love those games!!
silent hill 2 has been on my backlog list for YEARS!! maybe I should finally get it done too!
that sega game- Crusader of Centy looks like a lot of fun!
    Awesome list!
new to the channel.. so will you do an update at somepoint?

Tlou2 is phenomenal. They don’t tell you a lot about the game in regards to mechanics. Watch a few highlight clips of the game before playing. Different ways to approach scenarios and the little things you can do.

A lot of solid games on this list.
Definitely give The Last of Us Part 2 a chance. I was pissed at the story at first, but the story telling is so good it was worth sticking with it.
RE2 Remake was really fun and I prefer it to the original, but I'm not a huge fan of the first three RE games.
Crusader of Centy seems fun and I might check it out this year.
