- This past week I went to AWE otherwise known as the Augmented World Expo! One of the worlds largest XR conferences! At this event I got to see SO much amazing technology, it boggled my mind- From Haptx gloves to the Varjo XR3 and the most cutting edge consumer AR glasses available.
Thank you to Qualcomm for sponsoring this video and getting PHIA and I out to AWE to share the experience!

It is the same as my sim rig. Once I feel the force feedback, my brain starts to fill in the rest. I catch myself leaning into turns and pressing myself into the seat.
Depending on the equipment you have, that's kind of physically necessary.
At a point, it's not your brain filling in the rest. It's you naturally doing that to generate the force to push stiff pedals and turn a wheel with more force.
@@placeholder2924 it is an open wheeler frame with a G29. My seating position helps a lot too.
@@gopherchucksgamingnstuff2263 I assume it's a bit of placebo, yeah. Your wheel doesn't output a lot of torque and the pedals it comes eith aren't particularly hard to press down either.
@@placeholder2924 yes, the pedals of the G29 and G920 are easy to push down but the brakes are pretty hard
I've tipped over a rotating chair before doing that.
this was so fun, im so glad we got to try this stuff together
it really was the stuff i wasn't expecting to impress me that blew me away the most! i really cant wait for everyone to get their 'hands' on this cool stuff ;P soon!!!!
Yo i thought i saw something on ur channel that implied thrill was ur man. Good catch 👏 girl
@@noahkirkpatrick8912 wait. thrillseeker and phia are bf/gf?!
ngl, thrills camera work has been TOP NOTCH since you've been helping him. Plus his XR shots are much better too.
@@DavidLinn wait they are???
@@snappa_tv idk. that's what i'm tryin to find out
I think everything in this video was insanely cool, but one thing that really stood out was the Tilt Five. One of my favorite Adventure Time episodes has always been Card Wars, and when they made a mobile game version of it I used to play it all the time for years, and I used to wish that one day someone could make an actual hologram version of it like in the show. I feel like that can be a reality now with the upcoming advancements in AR/Hologram tech, and specifically something like the Tilt Five, and it makes me really excited for the future of this stuff and the endless possibilities.
Here before this blows up
I keep thinking of using it for a yugio card march XD I'm honestly thinking of buying one and using it for a dnd campaign! I think that would be one of the coolest things ever!
oh my god i forgot about that game, yess that would be so cool in AR
yeah that shit was so sick
@@narwhakun Yes a good Yugioh match on that thing would fulfill one of my childhood dreams
10:45 I was playing a workshop level of Half Life: Alyx and in it, I had to go in a hot, steamy room. A beam of sunlight happen to break through the clouds in that moment and hit my black jeans. As I walked passed some pipes, hot steam came out and damaged me. IRL, my leg got pretty hot at the same moment. I was so immersed that it took me around 10 seconds to freak out and wonder how my leg got hot. It really was amazing.
Praise the VR God
then you realise that you have a hot gas leak
Guys! Should i tell him?
@@bogeyboiplays4580”it kinda stinks in here, imma light a matc-“ 💥
Crazy how the brain works. Kind of similar to how some amputee patients use mirror therapy to help them with phantom pain on their missing limb.
Bring on the 10 hour video edit! As a Tilt 5 Kickstarter backer (still waiting patiently for my kit to ship) items great to hear your comments. Makes me even more excited for it
I've been using VR for 2 years.
Everytime I stop to think of what VR actually is I feel like I'm enjoying tech straight out of a sci-fi movie
soon, virtual reality will live up to its name. it will be truly REALITY, but virtual
I feel like a controller using a thumbstick supplement sounds pretty cool. Especially when stick drift is such a problem with other controllers.
That's a really good point, I've never thought about that fixing controller drift before
Hall effect sensors don't suffer from drift nearly as bad (the type of stick in the PS3 controller).
drift is nowhere near as big an issue as people make it out to be. really only a problem for quest 2 controllers. I've got CV1 controllers still going strong after 4 years of daily use.
@@plum_pie6402 my quest one controllers are near unusable, I can't turn in certain directions since the stick just won't register it and sometimes it won't let me stop moving
@@matthewweinberger7023 yeah quest controlers do that. not every controller with a joystick does. however if your controlers are drifting badly look up online, there are a handful of fixes ranging in efecxtiveness and dificulty, if you do open up your controller to blast it with canned air it will fix it the best.
been watching you forever, just ordered my first vr headset
HEY! CONGRATS!!!!!
@@alxxirr quest 2. I would have loved a Pimax or something but that would also involve upgrading my computer and I don't have that kind of money right now
Man, in 20 years I can see myself having a full VR/AR, haptic, chair, everything setup 😂. Imma be lost in that sauce!
My only stipulation is that I can run it all from my Linux desktop, Windows, Meta's, or otger closed off overly controlled ecosystems don't suit me.
Eager to see what Valve launches next since they are willing to support Linux and the Free-And-Open-Source community
Just make sure I don’t have back issues !!!
By the time 15 year old are grandparents it will be 100% perfected
@@_mossy_8520 I sincerely hope it goes faster than that. Because, ouch, if not.
@@UNSCPILOT yeah, running it all from one spot would be nice.
I wanna go too a vr convention one day
Our XR company actually developed a prototype for the Tilt5 and, to be honest, it was REALLY rough. Bad tracking, bad controller lag, bad visuals, bad refresh rates. It REALLY seems like they cleaned up their act if Thrill was this impressed by it!
It Is The CONCEPT That Is Important For Prototypes, All The Polishing Comes After Of Course.
Yes , Hoping It Can Be Turned Into Something Really Amazing For All Tabletop Games To Flourish In 3D Spaces
Videos like this always get me soooooo hyped. Love your content, it’s great
I always was interested in VR but this channel really got me really invested. For years I didn't know what job I should apply for after school and now I will have a job as a system integrator in the XR field. Thanks Thrill for showing me the work I always wanted to do but didn't know it existed
Man sometimes I really have to remind myself that all this stuff is actually real. It all feels so science fiction even in it's currently imperfect state
This video has got me hyped now, especially those buttonless controllers they look pretty cool
This makes me so excited for the future of VR/AR. Thanks for covering this stuff for us. Keep up the great work.
That passthrough beatsaber is so cool! I'm just picturing passthrough super hot, with the enemies coming out from the actual environment
I see that you and PHIA are always having fun as always eh 😅
I hope one day I will able to go to these sorts of events 😭 So many things I wanna try and so many new tech upcoming!
Hope you have a great day! And can't wait to see more!
Always having fun as always. The definition of redundant is see redundant.
all very cool stuff! Excited to see more of this stuff hopefully coming out soon, the tilt 5 definitely seems super cool
Thank you in advice for the content ! You make my days feel better and easier !
Great video! You crammed a lot in! Love all the new tech! Thanks for all your hard work Thrill!
The future of AR&VR is looking bright. I love it
I want to have a civilization campain with my buddies on the tilt 5!!!
love to see the quick and amazing progression in the space!! Thanks for sharing, and I am sure I am not the only one when i say i would love to see a part 2 and 3 and 4 .... of ALL the stuff you left out of this video!! Some of us don't care about video lengths when the content is so great! :)
Great Recap of AWE! I this video may not have the whole conference but this video covers things I didn't see while there.
It was cool see you and Phia at the while at the event! Thanks for giving XR technology more visibility.
Crazy how much is in this event, I'm too excited for the very near VR techology that's coming out, I feel like there will be affordable and very good options for other people. Can't wait for the future, see you there!
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded a 2-hour dive into the expo! I like the compact nature of your vids, but for this, with so much that seems worth talking about, would not have complained in the slightest about a longer form video. Great job, as always, thank you so much for all the VR info, it is MUCH appreciated!
There is so much potential in the VR space that everyone here, you, me, and my mom all has the chance to make something great in AR VR. Its so engaging and inspiring to be able to think about the future
This was actually an amazing video. Subscribed!!!
very cool, happy that we got a glimpse into this with you
So many spectacular reviews from the top expo, thank you so much!
That motion simulation chair is the kind of thing I have been waiting for for some time now, I can't believe it's here! I would love to fly in MS Flight Sim 2020 with that chair, especially with the Top Gun challenges!
12:30 It's so cool to see a display like this again. Since the 3DS release over a decade ago I am waiting to see something like this on the market.
Super super exciting tysm for sharing as always!!
Nice seeing all this stuff and you at AWE when I was there
great vid im so hyped for that ar table top system!!
Thanks for covering this event, so much cool stuff
Incredibly vid btw. love the work you put into each vid you post!!
The Tilt 5 is an awesome idea, executed really well. It'd be crazy to see some of the experiences people can make using it!
This is my new favorite expo! Was great seeing you there. Great video!
Another awesome video, thanks thrill!
i am getting excited on how things will look like when nano technology becomes a thing. U would be able to feel every single detail and propably even experience the feeling of falling, while in virtual reality. That is something interesting
Fantastic work as usual! 👏
THIS IS SO COOL. I am so stoked for the future of AR! We will have mind blowing AR on a consumer level in half the time it took consumer VR to be at a high level. I wonder if this is how people felt with the rise of the internet and computers.
It definitely is. We're entering a completely new era for technology, such a great time to be alive!
Love your videos Thrill! I'm excited at the possibility of you covering the YAW 2 as I patiently wait for the Kickstarter to ship!
so excited for the future with all this tech
Awesome video! I have no idea which of these technologies I should be most excited for!
It’s so cool seeing the industry evolve and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for both VR and AR
got me geniuenly excited for what the future of vr /ar has in store
Another good one, as always. As a huge vr person. With just a quest 2 my love for vr sparked and I’m so excited for the future!
Yep
Wow those technologies were amazing! I can't wait to see what else lies in store! That Tiltfive seems like it would be great for a party night with friends and family!
I'd watch at least an hour of this level of content!
I kept wondering when you would talk about the Yaw2 chair! They seemed to have just started shipping them out. That expo looked amazing, great video.
So much is coming to vr in the next year. It’s gonna be so cool to be able to use stuff like this when it’s more affordable.
I remember hearing about the tilt 5 when it was a valve thing. I was wondering what happened to it.
A guy at Valve got a bunch of people fired then jumped ship to Facebook. I'm happy someone landed on their feet
yeah im kinda happy the project is still alive. cant wait for wizards of the coast to create a DnD app for the hardware
SadlyItsBradley did a long interview with the founder of Tilt5, talking about the long long journey it's been from Valve to here. It was pretty interesting, it's up on his YT channel.
Can't wait for things like this to become more advanced and widely available. I still haven't even gotten to try VR at all yet, but vids like this get me so hyped for what's to come 😅
Man. Can’t wait to check out the table thing and that chair!😱🔥🔥
Its so cool to see how fast vr is moving but its also hard kind of a double edge sword since its hard to judge when to upgrade if you only plan on buying devices occasionally
This video made me so excited for the future. 🥰
Gosh dangitt dang i can not WAIT for the future of vr! It is incredible! I need to get myself another job to pay for all of the upcoming VR tech XD
You’re pretty much the only XR news channel I’ve consistently followed for years until now, so Qualcomm made a good choice there 👍
You are the reason im into vr you make it look so good almost like a dream
this makes me incredibly exited for the future of the vr industry
Always a good day when a new Thrillseeker video is out.
Indeed
The future seems so exciting! Imagine having some of these stuff being (relatively) mainstream in as early as 5 years
Man I gotta wait for the etee if it comes out for consumers. It looks great.
Woa that projector board looks really coool!
Thanks for this video. It's one of your best. Gives a good glimpse what is coming the next 2-5 Years to the consumer market. And combined with 3d lidar scanner on an iPhone, I am wondering how this will shape sociality as a hole. 3d printer and everything. What a time to be alive :D
I’m so excited for all this new tech to improve
I love Jerri's work (Tilt 5), I'm glad that project is still around!
So great to see some of my art in the Looking Glass portrait! Still can't believe it - at 12:46
I agree so much with your last point. People are so quick to dismiss the tech but we know what it's capable of
Seems like the Lynx R1 + A pair of Etee controllers might be a really good, if relatively expensive, privacy-focused competitor to the Quest, especially with that slim form factor. VR hardware is finally getting good.
I am glad the Lynx people fixed their internal company problems and are coming out with the HMD. I thought it was a very interesting design from the beginning and hoped it could be a near Quest competitor.
Love the form factor! XR will finally become convenient.
they look like a great competitor for the quest 2. the app thing is a problem.
@@roberine7241 I have plenty of Steam titles to use and stay busy with it, I an excited to see how the prism lenses work and what they get working with such a small form factor
@@PandaGamingPodcast are the steam titles even gonna run on the standalone version of the headset? that is the problem. to beat the quest 2 it would need that big library of games available.some indie titles and AAA releases through sidequest maybe if you just download the APK file and the lynx uses a version of android as well.
I feel like that AR beat saber would be really cool to play at parties with those really small lightweight compact vr goggles you showed in another video. Something small enough that it looks like welding goggles, so it doesn’t get in the way, but something that allows you to elevate your experiences
Super cool stuff can’t wait for the future tech to become affordable eventually
This is very much insanity. I’m so excited for what the future brings.
I would love the 10 hour video.
I love this type of tech!
You Have a whole different place in my heart ❤️ Love you
guys this guy has 563k subs and his music channel that he constantly links is only at 805?
get this man to at least 10 k for the banger that he makes!
Good idea. One more sub here. +1
It was great to meet you, ThrillSeeker. Thanks for joining us at AWE! ♥️
I just… love vr man wow great video
Man AWE looks like it was so dang fun!
If we're not getting full dive lets hope AR gives us some SAO Ordinal Scale shit lol
This event seems really amazing
Thus is exciting stuff!
aah, i just got into making soft rn and tNice tutorials is so helpful and your voice is so sootNice tutorialng btw! thanks for tNice tutorials tutorial
woooo super hyped to see an update from AWE!!!!
Happy Birthday, Thrill!!! 🎉 🎈 🎊
love that Qualcomm (Snapdragon Spaces) is opening up to OpenXR ... no more walled gardens!
Nice! Enjoyed your talk on Twitter too.
The YAW chair looks SO FUN!! I want to try it too 💦
Tilt Five reminds me of this game on the PS3 where you used the PS Camera, and used cards which would erupt into an animated version of the character in the card.
Obviously no where near as advanced as the TIlt Five, but reminded me of it none the less.
Thrill’s outro music always getting me hyped! 😅🤷♂️🥳
dude the haptic gloves look so cool
Aaahh i wanna see more about this event! Would love to travel there too!
If index controllers take too long to be in stock i might just get those with no thumb stick
I hope i can go to these kind of expos in the future
These things are so cool!
Awesome Video! :D
Best haptic feedback is a wall or a corner. It's free and when you hit it in vr it's so realistic. Even controllers understand how realistic it is and break.
I cannot wait for the future of big D&D events with something like the tilt 5 ar table
