I feel like one reasons why I adore Asian skincare (other than the fact it's so good for its price) is that it kind of brings people together? I'm from Europe, a ton of content creators show stuff that just isn't available here - or if it is, the price is even more absurd than in the US (that problem is even worse with make-up. Ugh, it's so bad). Meanwhile Asian skincare is just so accessible, both in terms of price and how easy it is to get your hands on it these days. Through my work I've recently started working on a research project with a woman from Georgia (not the state, the country hahah) and we both bonded so much over the fact we adore the same Asian skincare brands! Love it!
Yes this is so true!! I was absolutely shocked when I found out how much NYX, Maybelline, and L’Oréal cost for those in the EU/Aus. Those are inexpensive brands here, and brands that we can usually coupon down to $3/pop (like the Neutrogena makeup remover that I talked about in this video!) To imagine that folks in Australia pay $40 for a NYX product is mind-blowing - and negates so many opinions Americans have. It’s the failure of the “good for the price” mentality!! But we don’t have that with K-Beauty. The prices are reasonable worldwide!
I like it when folks pass on something they don't like or know won't work for them because I always wonder with the amount of products people test, where do the non favorites go?
Always my fav vids, besides “what’s new”… glad to see you keep growing and reaching more ppl, YT doesn’t always remind me to check your channel out 🤦♀️ but when it does… I always feel thankful you’re here!❤️
Omg about the income and inflation stuff - I felt thaaaat! Last year my boyfriend and I joked about how so many people were finally in middle class but then immediately shot down by the inflation and now we’re worse off than before.
YES OMG. Our combined income is something that if you told kid Alice we’d be making, I would have said “omg I’ll be rich someday!?” But nope! We live practically paycheck to paycheck and fear anything breaking. I just don’t get it. How much do we have to make to live comfortably these days!?
Can you please do a mega sheet mask video? I used to hate them because I couldn’t handle processing more steps in my routine, but I finally tried the SK-II ones I had from sets/gift with purchases. Unfortunately, I’m now obsessed and can’t afford that habit 😂 I’ve been looking to get some more sheet masks to try, but I’m getting really overwhelmed 🥲 Having intense adhd means I’ve been reading through hundreds of inci lists and getting stressed with the decision making part
You are the PERFECT candidate for making your own sheet mask!! Because then you can use any toner you want, or any blend of toners/essence/serum. It’s fun, customizable, and it’s less waste! Here’s my video on it: ruclips.net/video/V0E0mIlnG24/видео.html
I always see Shiseido cotton pads and 3-packs of Kopari lip glossy at TJMaxx for super cheap! I’ve been seeing a lot more K-beauty too, like Cosrx, Frudia, and even Mary & May. I just picked up the Kate Somerville Eradicate cleanser for 12.99, which was a better deal than the Ulta sale last month.
I DO agree that inflation of every item and activity is tiring. It is a time to use our best discernment when it comes to shopping. I am actually not impressed by Skyn Iceland. I’m shocked, but that stretches my budget for spending in other categories. I have never purchased Cos De BAHA. It looked too cheap and the reviews were not good on Amazon. ✨Thanks for giving us your personal recommendations! ✨
K Beauty has been a game changer for sunscreen in my skincare routine I also use a toner from India actually it’s called Be Minimalist PHA toner and I love it
Hey Alice, really enjoyed this video. I love any kind of empties review. I totally relate to your statement about our money just not going as far. I picked up a dozen eggs yesterday at the grocery store and they were over $7.00. My heart goes out to families trying to feed children. I think I am going to have to try the Rosen Cleanser. I am looking for something to use in the morning. I am loving all the info on K-Beauty. I have switched over and have you to thank for that! I can’t believe the quality of the products they offer with such reasonable prices.
Exactly!! That’s the hardest part for me to wrap my brain around. We are DINK, and make a modest living, but an amount that should be sustainable. And yet it’s difficult (especially when something breaks, that’s when we really feel it: car parts, appliances, body parts not working quite right OOF). If it’s hard for us, how do families do it!?
Yes! 8 years ago my husband and I were able to get our house painted with money we saved up for 1 year. Now, it would be like saving for 3 years or more. Great empties, Alice.💜💜💜
I know it’s like 10 months later, but just yesterday I was thinking exactly what you said about finances. Literally everything I need to purchase (groceries, home supplies) have increased in price 1.5x. I love your channel because we seem to have similar perspectives on finances. I’m always trying to get the best value for the cost because I’m trying to balance my “me” purchases against the increased price of things I “have” to buy (like food and laundry soap…LOL)
I love that you mentioned Neutrogena! I watched an old Dr. Dray video last year and she recommended Neutrogena body oil as the first step in a double cleanse. She said it worked great on the face even though it's a body oil. So I picked some up, and she was right. I still use it today! Though now I go back and forth with that and my Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm. 😊
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Yes, they have a fragrance version and a fragrance-free one. I've only got the fragrance-free, but once in a while I miss having fragrance in stuff. 🤔
I’ve actually started adding perfume into my PM skincare routine. Not in my facial products, but rather, right before I go to bed, I spritz some fragrance onto my wrists. It’s so satisfying haha!
❤awesome video!! I'm not sure if you have a tjmaxx near you, but the one where I live often has the shiseido cotton for more than half price. And our local Meijer superstore carries a generic version that I buy all the time bcz they're just as awesome! Love getting your opinion on all the products ! ❤
I’ve used multiple bottles of The Ordinary Multi Peptide serum. It’s not that I see huge differences in my skin, but it is protecting me from future damage (or so my favorite RUclipsr tells me!) and it’s easy to work into my routine. It can be sticky until I add something over it.
This video reminded me I picked up a multi pack of the kopari lip glossy at marshalls and I love it. I'll definitely pick it up whenever I see it there or on sale, I'm so happy I remembered you praising this. I love the watermelon one, they really are so good. I haven't tried it over a lip color but it makes sense you're suggesting to use it that way, it does a great job of plumping up and minimizing lip lines.
Ah happy to help!! To use it over lipstick, I squeeze out a tiny bit onto my finger, and just tap that into my lips. This helps prevent the tube from changing colors (if that bothers you - it actually is a pet peeve for me LOL).
When I lived in Japan, I would buy the Shiseido Beauty Up Cotton sold in drugstores instead of the Facial Cotton sold at Shiseido counters. I could not tell much of a difference between the two and I had been using the Facial Cotton for years in the US before going to Japan. Shiseido is much like L'oreal where they can and sometimes do dupe their own products for different audiences/price points (drugstore vs department store). It was like $3-$4 for 100ish pads and then I made it last even longer by cutting each pad into 4. Unfortunately I think you can only find this product through third party sellers if you live outside of Japan so the price ends up almost the same as the Facial Cotton overseas. If you're ever in Japan, I hope you drop by a drugstore and pick some up because they're so cheap!
Oh, and there is a stronger adapalene gel called Epiduo, which is a combination of adapalene and benzyl peroxide it provides 0.3% adapalene compared to the 0.1% in Differin if anyone is wanting something stronger but doesn’t want to move onto tretinoin I think that is a very good product to try.👌🏻⭐️
Girl the set with the Suwahsoo first activating serum full size and some other products in it is 34.99 at marshals . I have seen it for almost 2 months now . Can't wait to see what u got in ur Korean skincare order. Most of my Sephora orders still haven't shipped they just sitting their processing . I feel like I ordered from a Korean website..lol I got hair stuff some makeup the kheils barrier cream cause I got samples lawless forget the filler balm gloss cause I got the clean kit and their was a mini and I really liked it some new concealers ..I have been buying alot of bujee concealer lately but I bought the Kulfi one to and that is decently priced for Sephora and the Ouie st Barts cream hair stuff shampoo mask heat mist stuff like that and some other things. Omg I know right the grocery store is nuts I use to go in and spend 60$ now the same order is 120$ and u come out with like nothing. I need to quit with Sephora cause I need some Korean skincare items I'm running out of and my Niod SMD mist I just have been so tempted with Sephora the past few months it seems like not Sephora skincare though I still love my Korean skincare. U emptied alot this time great job .
$35!? 🤯 That sounds like a fun haul! I’ve been curious about the Kulfi concealer, they’re such a cute brand. I can’t decide if I like the lawless. I like the look on, but it does feel heavy. Or maybe I’m over applying it lol!
Hi Alice! Can you do a ferment-free episode? I'm sensitive to ferments, but I love K and J beauty! I have found some options, but so many products are full of ferments. Thanks!!😊
Ooh that’s a good idea. I’ve been working on a video all about ferments, maybe it would be helpful to include the non-fermented options in that video? 🤔
Please try more from eadem. Their jelly oil cleanser is on my wishlist, but I have alot of the krave one right now (which is also amazing) but the brand seems awesome! And yes girl inflation is kicking out butts as well. My bf and I make "good" money for 25-26 year olds but we worry about making rent and having enough money for groceries and our credit cards. As for my lip routine, I do laniege lip mask and top it with the vaseline lip therapy (the tin, its huge and its like 5$) and it really locks everything in and lasts all night. I got ta bunch of laneige lip masks at homegoods/mashalls/tj Maxx which is excellent. Also thank you for sharing about the bubble vit c serum. It's the only one that hasn't irritated my skin! ❤
It’s exhausting trying to keep up with basic life expenses. I’m in my 30s and remember 2008. Well, somehow, this feels at least on that level. I just don’t understand when income and cost of living are going to even out a bit more!!
I do love to see what you repurchase! I have like several months' worth of empties. I was thinking about doing maybe flash reviews in stories? Then once I get caught up ai could go bi-monthly. 😂😂😂 So I have this new serum by Shroom Skincare I'm trying. They call it a brightening serum but I say it's an oil. It feels like an oil and most of the ingredients are oils? That said I sort of LOVE it. It feels lively and is, in fact, brightening. But really gentle. Theres a fragrance thats very light and doesn't bother me. Of course that leaves me with too many open facial oils to maybe ever finish, and an unopened Biossance . 😅
Oh that does sound lovely. Reminds me of some of the indie brand serums: I agree that I’d call them oils, but some of them are such nice blends! Wait is that an indie brand? Just realized I haven’t heard of them lol
Hallo Alice, oh nice empties. I am almost out of my secret key toner and I had a friend say I should try Alleyoop mineral sunscreen ( wth? Never heard of this). I do like several ordinary serums just works on my skin. And yes bubble vit C, so grateful. ❤️❤️💛
Hey Alice, I watched this video when you first put it out but I completely forgot to send the comment in that I wanted to send so I was listening to what you were saying about the Lancome eye makeup remover and I am surprised that you have never mentioned any Korean double layer eye make up removers- there are so many of them and they are so cheap compared to the European versions. I have used several - of note is Missha which I think on Stylvanna is 5 pounds which I imagine is about six or seven dollars And it is as good or better than the Lancome so I urge you to give some a shot 🙏🏻♥️😁
Ok Missha - I’m writing this down. I’ve looked at them a few times, but I always end up deciding to stick with what I know. If these work just as well, that’s going to be a ton of money saved!! 🤯 thanks so much for the heads up!
Alice, I am sad that Donginbi closed their Lazada flagship store in my country. I used to be able to buy Donginbi with huge discount during sales. I could even purchase the Daily Defense Serum 60ml at a very reasonable price after huge discount and member special. I guess there wasn't enough customers to keep them around.
Oh my gosh, groceries are terrible. It has gotten way harder to justify budgeting for more expensive products. Especially with so many amazing options from KBeauty.
Alice. When I mentioned the peptides from cos de baha it's a tsll toner bottle. Not a short serum. I love it So kind of researching eye serums for old lady here Just got in Dr cerucule gentle foam washbfor dry skin for my trip. As hot humidity comes in needing to retire illyoon ! Too thick
A toner sounds like a much better format for that product!! Haha yes, I’m feeling the same. I’ve almost finished my numbuzin 2 cream, but I realized it will be wise for me to plan a repurchase in Octoberish. I don’t think I’ll need it in the summer!!
Hi Alice, just wondering if you've ever used Cetaphil makeup remover. I.prwfer that one to any others that I ve tried (I think.Ive.tried them.all) even Lancome, which was my HG for years. Not greasy and doesn't sting my sensitive eyes. Love these comparison videos..hardly buy anything.without your.critique!!
I am a retired RN.who worked Lanor & Delivery in the 1970s and 80s. I.saw 3 cases of what was called 'Ambiguous Genitalia' meaning. their genitals have features of Both malw and female! Back then they allowed the Parents to decide which sex child the parwnts wanted and surgery was performed accordimgly! Isnt it time the Individual decides whats best foe them and not Parents, Doctors, or Polititians??!!
Eggs feel like a luxury now. Eggs. There are, uh, vintage(?) instagram posts from 2019 calling eggs the budget-friendly protein. Nothing is affordable anymore, it’s bonkers
@AliceintheRabbitHole right???! and it does definitely impact what I'm willing to buy in Beauty purchases because if I have to spend $600 at Costco to keep the kids fed I am not going to but expensive beauty products when there are KBeauty or drugstore alternatives.
Alice, do you keep any of your empty bottles to use as a travel container for bigger products? For example, I really like the airless pump with the Bubble Day Dream serum and planning to clean it once I am done with it and use it as a travel bottle for other products.
Hi Alice! I was wondering if you could do a review on Vitamin C powders. I have one and like the idea that it stays fresh longer but I don’t know if the one I have is making a difference
I believe Lab Muffin did a video about those! Found it: ruclips.net/video/-q2fQ70aXuU/видео.html Personally, I’ve switched to derivatives these days so I don’t have to experience the fussiness of L-AA. But another option is getting something like G&G’s C-Glow as they make theirs fresh Hope that helps!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thank you so much! Wow, she did a great job explaining that. I was a little apprehensive to include the powder in my daily routine and now I know why!
The lip mask? So funny, while I wait on my Alpyn order, i started using the Laneige. I didn’t like it at first because my goofy self bought the mint flavor (…why!? Did I think I’d suddenly like mint, after a life of not liking it? 😆🤣) But you know, it really does work!
Great video! I wanna purchase a good pimple patch and I wanted to ask you why do you love the Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Blemish Spot Patch? What makes them better in your opinion?
Aw that’s disappointing! 😩 Yeah I realized I don’t stray much in eye makeup removers. Lancôme is the best, neutrogena works for some things, and that’s…the end of my list lol.
Another great video...a few questions. Do you think the Bubble Daydream Serum is ok for my dry skin and as strong C wise as my Benton L-ascorbic acid vitamin c 20% I'm using now? I've read the Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule is a close dupe to the Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair, have you tried this? and do you know of a good moisturizing night mask besides the Sulwhasoo one? Where is your pretty face in this video?, I assume you're either broke out or fell on your face, which I did a month ago and people assumed I'd been hit by some guy...does that say something about my great taste in men? haha
It’s fine for dry skin, but I’m now regretting not elaborating more on why I personally love it (it’s a case of: I’ve talked so much about it in other videos, but it does bear repetition!) So Daydream uses sodium ascorbyl phosphate, which is a vitamin c derivative. However, it’s benefits per RCTs are not the same as L-AA. Instead, we have seen it act similarly to benzoyl peroxide-yes, an acne-fighting ingredient! With an added perk of less irritation. Now, if using it for antioxidant activity (ie with sunscreen), we do have evidence for that as well. But it lacks evidence for hyperpigmentation. Which is all to conclude: I use it for acne, and personally I’ve seen great results. But I wouldn’t recommend this product for hyperpigmentation, personally. Id stick with the literature there, which is a minimum of 15% L-AA. Hope that helps!
Oop didn’t answer your other questions. Manyo Bifida ampoule is my pick for an ANR dupe (will be testing this long-term soon, but I feel it’s a promising formula!) and the Sulwhasoo is optional. You could always use a heavy cream/slugging instead ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thanks...I Almost bought the Manyo Bifida Ampoule but went with the Benton Fermentation Essence....AND I've made the decision when I run out of my current essence to get the SK- II. Expensive but not too outrageous on Stylevana sometimes, have to see for myself about it's brightening properties. The all night "masks" just sound so fancy and pretty, but I'm just gonna go with massive slugging of moisturizing products...(save up for SK-II)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole PS, Just want to say I think it's awesome that you look at all the questions and actually take the time to answer them. Very much appreciated.
Can someone recommend a product for barrier repair? My skin is real rough with these pus filled pimples overnight for some reason. I think I need to repair my barrier maybe. Alice what's your favourite for that? Great video!
I was so close to getting the Tower 28 spray but keep talking myself out of it. Have You ever seen the Verse Cleansing balm? I'd say you was smart enough not to use it. I've went to Walmart to get my Elf cleansing balm and they were out. I ordered it and purchased the verse thinking oh it's a wash off and I've heard people say they liked it, I thought. I've broke out every day since.
Then idk but I’m on the Adapoline and Benzoyl Peroxide train and was doing fabulous and smack . I have only one other theory that makes sense. I have had Propolis in my routine for years and have finished my winter Cosrx propolis toner and running low on BOJ glow serum and have not used it regularly like I do when I’m getting low and forgot to order again .
I've just placed another order on Stylevana UK😬🫠, influenced partially by you, Alice❤. I bought RNW ceramide serum for £11 and Kaine Kombucha toner set with pads for £11 and the offer was that you got ANOTHER set if you spend over £9 with Kaine so basically 2 full size toners and 2 packs of pads for 11 quid! I couldn't pass it!😅

I just don’t understand when income and cost of living are going to even out a bit more!!
love these empties !!! ❤
I do love to see what you repurchase!
I have like several months' worth of empties. I was thinking about doing maybe flash reviews in stories? Then once I get caught up ai could go bi-monthly. 😂😂😂
So I have this new serum by Shroom Skincare I'm trying.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole They seem to have only this product. 🤣🤣 But I really love it so far.
Hallo Alice, oh nice empties. I am almost out of my secret key toner and I had a friend say I should try Alleyoop mineral sunscreen ( wth? Never heard of this). I do like several ordinary serums just works on my skin. And yes bubble vit C, so grateful. ❤️❤️💛
I’ve had a few comments about that brand, but same - hadn’t heard of them otherwise!
We worry about finances, too. We are blessed not to be hurting. Everything is so much more expensive. We feel your pain.❌️⭕️
PLeaseeee try the wander beauty baggage claim eye patches !!! Packed with wonderful ingredients
Yup. I had hoped the prices would come back down but…I see that’s not happening. Existing costs a lot more now than it did 4 years ago 😩
Alice. When I mentioned the peptides from cos de baha it's a tsll toner bottle. Not a short serum. I love it
So kind of researching eye serums for old lady here
Just got in Dr cerucule gentle foam washbfor dry skin for my trip.
Hello! Please, review ENS Jin Jung Sung Soothing Moisture Skin Essence. Thank you for your reviews! 🥰
I like the Cos de bags peptide serum, I put a toner on top and no stickiness
I wonder if it’s something off about mine. I don’t have the same problem with the AzA serum from the same brand?
Please look into skinfix!! I’m just learning about the brand and I would love to hear your input on it !!!
I haven’t! That does sound nice though 😃
Fabulous loved this 🎉 ❤ xx
Try popping a stopper from an empty toner bottle on your eye makeup remove if the Lancôme one doesn’t fit
!! That’s a great idea!
GROCERIES. Groceries have been the WORST.
I see you feel me!! There just isn’t much cash left over after paying the bills and buying the necessities 😩
Alice, do you keep any of your empty bottles to use as a travel container for bigger products? For example, I really like the airless pump with the Bubble Day Dream serum and planning to clean it once I am done with it and use it as a travel bottle for other products.
Yes, sometimes! I like the size of some of the GWP bottles haha, great for traveling with odds and ends
Hi Alice! I was wondering if you could do a review on Vitamin C powders. I have one and like the idea that it stays fresh longer but I don’t know if the one I have is making a difference
I believe Lab Muffin did a video about those!
Found it: ruclips.net/video/-q2fQ70aXuU/видео.html
Personally, I’ve switched to derivatives these days so I don’t have to experience the fussiness of L-AA. But another option is getting something like G&G’s C-Glow as they make theirs fresh
Hope that helps!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thank you so much! Wow, she did a great job explaining that. I was a little apprehensive to include the powder in my daily routine and now I know why!
Thanks for the reviews. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
You too 🥰
I have been using the Fresh overnight mask. I am not convinced I lile it more than Laneige.❌️⭕️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole LOL. No mint.
Did u try the isntree micellar water yet, I can't remember but I saw they had one and u love isntree.
Great video! I wanna purchase a good pimple patch and I wanted to ask you why do you love the Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Blemish Spot Patch? What makes them better in your opinion?
I think it’s the thickness. It seems to really work well for absorbing the pimple!
Thank you it makes sense I’d definitely try them out ☺️
I have a Laura Gellar eye makeup remover. I used it last week. It's not good compared to Lancome. Fail.❌️⭕️
Aw that’s disappointing! 😩
Yeah I realized I don’t stray much in eye makeup removers. Lancôme is the best, neutrogena works for some things, and that’s…the end of my list lol.
I can't open your links on safari :( could you please look into it would appreciate.
Where is your pretty face in this video?, I assume you're either broke out or fell on your face, which I did a month ago and people assumed I'd been hit by some guy...does that say something about my great taste in men? haha
It’s fine for dry skin, but I’m now regretting not elaborating more on why I personally love it (it’s a case of: I’ve talked so much about it in other videos, but it does bear repetition!)
So Daydream uses sodium ascorbyl phosphate, which is a vitamin c derivative.
Hey Alice, have you ever tried Then I Met You? So drawn to that brand, but can’t pull the trigger due to the price
Haha sadly it’s the same feels! I still may in the future, but I’ve successfully talked myself out of every cart I’ve built 😅
Can someone recommend a product for barrier repair? My skin is real rough with these pus filled pimples overnight for some reason. I think I need to repair my barrier maybe. Alice what's your favourite for that? Great video!
Stratia Liquid Gold! Pair it with a heavy cream or else a hefty occlusive on top for the perfect repairing duo 😃
Do you prefer Bubble day dream or Geek & Gorgeous C-glow?
Daydream because I have acne! C-Glow would be my choice for hyperpigmentation though
Oh nooo. I actually liked that one years ago, unsure if they’ve changed it up though?
Then idk but I’m on the Adapoline and Benzoyl Peroxide train and was doing fabulous and smack . I have only one other theory that makes sense. I have had Propolis in my routine for years and have finished my winter Cosrx propolis toner and running low on BOJ glow serum and have not used it regularly like I do when I’m getting low and forgot to order again .
Can you use vitamin c derivatives with retinol?
It seems you can, although personally I like to use vit C in the AM for the antioxidant benefits ☺️
which korean cleanser would u recommend for oily skin?
There’s so many options tbh. I’d look for the low pH gel cleansers (like cosrx good morning, Heimish all clean, etc!)
Hi Alice ❌️ ⭕️
Do you have a styleKorean code?
No sadly. I do like them though, very fast shipping!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole dang
Uh auto correct, Cos de baha
🐰
You could call it empties and never empties (but some people might think it’s political.)
Goodness, right.
Complains about inflation yet she’s a hard lefty democrat, lol.
??
Hard lefty skincare channel?
I've just placed another order on Stylevana UK😬🫠, influenced partially by you, Alice❤. I bought RNW ceramide serum for £11 and Kaine Kombucha toner set with pads for £11 and the offer was that you got ANOTHER set if you spend over £9 with Kaine so basically 2 full size toners and 2 packs of pads for 11 quid! I couldn't pass it!😅
Oh wow, that’s an incredible deal! Let me know how those go for you 🤩
