- With Humza Yousaf set to resign as First Minister of Scotland, James O'Brien tells his listeners that 'the milestones on the path to this morning's apparent chaos are legion'.
It comes as Humza Yousaf is said to be preparing to quit as Scotland's first minister after concluding that there is no way he can win a vote of no confidence this week.
Mr Yousaf is fighting for his political future after the SNP's power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens collapsed on Thursday.
The first minister said the agreement had “served its purpose" and was "no longer guaranteeing a stable arrangement in parliament".
He is now facing a vote of no confidence, which was tabled by the Scottish Conservatives, while Scottish Labour tabled one for the Scottish Government as a whole.
Votes on the motions are expected at Holyrood in the coming week.

I discovered James and LBC on holyday in the UK in late 2022. It is everything we don't have in Australia, where Murdoch runs everything, whether he owns it or not.
Sagita's removal suggests LBC is completely vulnerable to censorship by those whom history will probably judge to be criminals.

There hasn't been another referendum on Scottish independence because a court in London said the Westminster government has the right to not allow one. You can't blame the SNP or its leaders for that.

Whether you vote or not is no skin off the SNP's nose, or anyone else's for that matter. We had a referendum on independence in 2014 that delivered a victory for unionism over the threat of division. Learn to respect the will of the Scottish people before you pretend our voice wasn't heard.

Why oh why does O'B not get off his seat and get on a train to Scotland for a few days and make face to face contact with real people rather than just his new, new labour buddies in media land.
They make use of a new fangled device called a telephone. Apparently it allows you to call long distances, even from Scotland to London. It apparently allows a “Radio Phone In Show” to exist without the expense of leaving a studio.

James you think that the Scots have decided against Scots Independence. You think our Independence is tied to one party. We have come to our senses and realised Scotland's Independence lies in the people not the politicians with their noses in the trough and on the gravy train of Westminster. Scotland's Sovereign people do not want any of this we want Scotland to reassert its sovereignty.
If unionist parties dominate holyrood then a future independence referendum occurring is doubtful

Little Jim gave Humza a very easy ride. Strange how certain people on the same side of the political spectrum as O'Brien seem to get spoon fed gimme questions.
As a Swiss that's talked to both sides, I can say, neither sides seem to think a lot of the other side. Scotland wanting to leave the union seems to me to have a higher priority and they really didn't want to leave the EU. So as we see, their wishes were ignored and even though Brexit took so long, it didn't do all sides justice.
So I can understand once again why the Scots want to be independent, once again, so they can choose what they do. Similar to how Ireland is still in the EU and how complicated the Northern Ireland border has become.
I guess the people were fooled by those pro Brexit politicians, but please don't misunderstand me, we Swiss are NOT in the EU either and it's better that way because personally, I am not an EU fan whatsoever.
James, What you have to remember is the the SNP is along with the Scottish Green and Alba the only Scottish based parties. The unionist parties, the Tories, Labour and the Lib Dem’s are all English based parties who add Scottish to their names but are not registered in Scotland 🏴🇪🇺🏴🇪🇺
The Scottish Labour Party does have substantial devolution from the national Labour Party, though.

If the 533 English Westminster MPs continue to block the Indyref2 vote then it's a forced union.

He has destroyed everything he's touched, the NHS, education and justice so why would we expect anything different from him as First Minister? I'm a 75 year old and never voted for anyone else other than the SNP. I gave up my membership a few years ago because I wasn't happy with the way the party was going but still voted for them in the hope of getting our Independence. Now I honestly don't know if I can vote for them again 😢

Scots weren't treated as second class citizens when devolution was handed over, and second class citizens aren't given the highest _per capita_ public spending rates in the entire UK, bright lad.

If you try visiting Scotland hospitality costs are crazy and staffing levels without EU staff are low.
