Sharmin was really unbearable to watch. No variety of expressions and a monotone dialogue delivery.
Nepo kid, she is related to Bhansali
Bhansali is confusing Lahore with Hyderabad, Ouadh or Lucknow. Lahore has always been a Punjabi city. You guys are totally ignorant about Pakistani regions, its race, culture, languages, geography and ethnic make up. Please stick to subjects that pertain to India. Pakistani regions were part of British created India for less than 100 years, in its over 5000 years of history. Bharat is a lie concocted by Vivkenanda, Gwaliar, Arya Smaj, RSS etc schools of thought , in late 1800's. Under which all regions under British rule were hallucinated as one ancient Bharat that never existed. lol. No European, Russian, isreali, Japanese scholar, historian has ever verified the existent of Bharat. The term India was creation of Europeans for South Asian regions just like they created the word AFrica.
It seems like Sanjay ne apni budsurraat neice ko promote kerne ke liya Netflix ko loot liya hai.
@@sabrinakhan8217 ‘Pakistani culture’? Are you delusional? You can’t have it both ways. If you say India as a concept is concocted, then how do u say Pakistan isn’t? Come on, at-least be consistent with your logic. And what do u mean ‘you guys’? Bhansali koi representative nahi hai ek pure culture ka. Many of us are at least interested in learning about other people.
@@sabrinakhan8217Very Apt! Spot on! 👏👏👏
The way Manisha koirala performed Mallikajaan gave it an unimaginable flare.. especially because of the shock and surprising factor of not seeing her in such a role as well as offscreen demeanor a complete contrast to the portrayal of Mallikajaan! It was fabulous
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Baddy is like 'The Harsha Bhogle' of cinema. The way he breaks it down🤌🏽
I look forward to your reviews more than the actual film itself!
Sorry but Bhogle has lost his spine, not through any fault of his own, its just India
Sonakshi Sinha was great, but her character was not written that well with unconvincingly sudden changes of heart. Sharmin Segal had one bland expression throughout.
You dont have much experience with women i take it
Excellent narration. I felt like I re-watched the whole series. Keep going BR.
I think Bhansali should become an painter rather than a story teller. His love for opulence, grandeur, beauty and aesthetics consumes the story. The series bleeds with beauty but never comes even close to plucking your heart's strings like a Devdas or Begum Jaan does.
Boring series I didn't expect this magicless screenplay from Bansali. Few starting & last episodes are okay. Rest just boring conversations.emotions not captured ..the main love story completely failed no felling.. the music is not at all good which trademark of Bansali. the visuals are very impressive but how long we can watch it.
Are you crazzy? Sonakshi was terrific. No comparison with Sharmin who was poorest cast. Unanimously she was bland and bad actor!
So good! Love the entire series. Everyone in the cast did a great job, but Sonakshi and Manisha truly stole the show with her captivating performance. The songs were enchanting, the costumes were exquisite, and the cinematography was breathtaking. Congratulations to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the entire team for crafting such a mesmerizing cinematic experience.
I think it also highlights the cusp of old vs new..changes in the guard whether politically or socially and how "values" have to be adapted.
Thank you for wonderful Review... Just completed 1st Episode... Can't wait to watch them all ... ❤
Absolutely brilliant.. Manisha has nailed her role 👌
Excellent review! Thank you Baddy sir!
Really appreciate you providing your thoughts in one sentence on the video thumbnail. I have been waiting for something like this from you sir, so that I can decide whether to watch a film or not, without watching the full review and getting spoilers. Will watch the review after I watch the movie.
This is my feedback, sorry it’s a long one. Usually with series you get invested in the characters and the story line keeps you on the edge of your seat but not in this case. Lot’s of hard work and it beautifully made but it doesn’t hold your interest for too long. It should have been made as a 2 hour movie. Music is fine, I have all the songs but none of them stands out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is cheating. Where's the interview with SLB? 😭😭
It hasn't even been 2 hrs since the movie was reviewed. He'll call him for lights camera analysis maybe
alongside Manisha Koirala would be a feast ,Baddie
I loved the series. Manisha and Sonakshi were top notch. What dialogues…
Manisha was on fire! Absolutely loved her! 🤩🤩🤩 Loved Sonakshi too! Every scene where Mallikajaan and Fareedan was 🔥🔥🔥 Bibbojaan (Aditi) was also interesting to watch. The outfits and palace like setting was very beautiful but I wondered if courtesans could really afford this much. Overall, it was a treat to watch (except for those scenes featuring Alamzeb!!!).
I never knew Manisha and sonakshi would act like devil ..!
Agree with most of this review, except I thought the Sonakshi was really bloody good. Her expressions were on point and she really brought it home for me. Also Sharmin was good imho, she is a new actor and has limited experience, but I liked her in the movie. Farida Jalal was so delightful. Bhansali is really the man though, he really has an amazing vision and there is something to find in every scene, treasures that you really have to watch properly to watch.
Must watch for it's stunning visuals, music & performances👌
I love your reviews thank you :)
Onother outstanding reiew by a Master of his craft. Thanks so much MR Baradwaj. Hope to meet you Sir, when in Chennai in August.
Manisha is absolutely brilliant
Cannot wait to see the web series
Well put. Sounds intriguing.
Beautifully captured
Boring series! It was all over the place.. I'm not sure how much longer you did want get to an extent of being in the good books of these film makers from the way you reviewed animal. Please unfollow him folks!
hey hey hey. what does fareedhan's hindi quote means? english pls!
Superb analysis !
11 minutes video.
Code accepted ❤
you could not see the fire in Sonakshi? I felt she shined in every frame. Shamim was a stone faced wooden log though.
Love the review 😊
Baddy, even the trailer indicated that the show will have horrible acting, and over the top treatment, how can you defend this non sense? Even the streaming space seems to be cannibalised by these overrated theatrical directors like Shetty and Bhansali. This should stop. They will pollute this space also.
Bro, the ott platform wants the crap shit . Many directors around india are rejected the reason being not popular actor , not over the top film ,they just want safe generic shit . When netflix launched new shows of trailers for the year, it was only bollywood and 1 telugu show, which is copied. They are racist to some regions as well.
Over the top performance doesn't mean it's a bad performance.
Ya i didn't like the series too
@@SuyashFayn this one is bad though.
Sorry , it was hard to get past the first episode , manisha acted well .
Finally BR also took money for review? Seems like Netflix paid him huge
Sharmin could have been replaced by Ananya or even Jahnvi for that matter, she just had a stone face throughout the show
just watch Tried and Refused Productions review of Heeramandi and you will definitely have a kick 😂
Haha jahnvi ananya and Sharmin .. nepo kids are ingrained in us now that we can’t think beyond them
I think Tripti Dimri could have been good Alamzeb
Sir u were absolutely right Sonakshi and Sharmin this is what happens when nepotism and mediocrity thrives 👀💀
So basically, there are elements that can be celebrated but not the whole thing as a whole. This Urdu, poetry, grace, glitter, glamor and "Muslimexotification" is old and cliche. Wish there was a more compelling story, screenplay and something different. Not every Bhansali movie has to be a Ghazal
Absolutely loved the web series particularly the integration of the freedom movement and Tawaifs. The Azadi song raises such goosebumps unlike Deepika's Jauhar sequence in Padmavat that was more of a fashion parade. Both Manisha Koirala and Sonakshi Sinha were too good
Hold on Rangan - isn't it a series ?you watched all episodes with in a day? that's a lot of screen time in a day.
All critics and joufnalists got to see it 2days beforr
baradwaj, is it good or not?
Bansali's this is 3rd or 4th movie on prostitutes.
😂
@@MrinmayChakravarty-jf4nr what's so funny?
Because her own mother was stage singer...
Yeah. Super tired of this.
Devdas, Saawariya, Gangubai and Heeramandi. SLB is obsessed with sex workers, courtesans. I wonder why
❤❤❤
Wtf man it's terrible series i couldn't pass the terrible pronunciation and accents of urdu in Lahore that's the heart of Panjab
Please don’t put sonakshi and sharmin in the same sentence 😮… sharmin was unbearable….Sonakshi was really good
Terrible writing and story , torturous show... The change into patriotic mode in the finale episode was totally off tone.... There is absolutely nothing in the show , hated every character and nothing to connect with them... Will come back to this review after a few days again , maybe I can like something
The hype he gives for sonakshi s entry is way too much.
i dont agree w the flowery review - Other than photography and production value, it was a did - The girl who played alam was unbearable - Minsha, Sonakshi and aadithi were wasted -
i thought sonakshi was good, sharmin was given screen time cuz #nepobaby
Alamzeb has no expressions at all.. The only drawback is her in this series
Very happy for SLB
Sharmin was absolutely pathetic. Unbearable, stood out like a sore thumb
You gave away way too much with no warning
It was a very bad series, with so much of pakeezah, Meena Kumari overdose/plagiarism. It has become too much of bhansali just copy pasting things from MKs movies, the opulence is absolutely out of place, the characters and their arc were not well thought out, had abrupt twists and change of hearts. Manisha did well, but was again forced to modulate her voice in Rekha's pitch, Sharmin was absolutely hopeless.
You hv lost all credibility with your review of animal and now with this. If a series is bad call is so, stop buttering people.
he is a sold out now 😢
Not interested in this
U should watch it.
Opulent but quite boring....very poor writing
sabzimaandi
you didnt have to be this intellectually dishonest
It's a terrible tv series, probably the worst indian i have ever watched

Excellent narration. I felt like I re-watched the whole series. Keep going BR.
