CASTRO. He has all the fundamentals of a pure point guard. Shooting 3s, passing,Agility,Strength and Court vision. He's the definition of a true point gawd. I hope FIBA would give him the award again.
You gotta understand that both Romeo and Castro are great point guards but their are differences. Romeo focuses more on the offensive end that's why he gets a lot of scoring and carrying the team. Castro on the other end is a team player he sets up Romeo and other players in the team so that they can score. And as well if things don't go as planned, Castro takes over the game. Romeo is more like a shooting guard than a PG imo. So I'm gonna go with Castro he still should be the Asia's best PG no doubt. But don't get me wrong Romeo is already right next to him

After I saw Arakji in 2022, believe him to be the best. Now, Gou and Arakji should not be compared. Arakji is the star, Gou is the shit.

Its hard to choose between Ailun Gou and Jayson Castro William.. Gou is a Slasher and Castro is a Playmaker. I can't say Terrence Romeo is the best PG in FIBA Asia Cup 2017 because it doesn't suits him. He's a scorer and a clutch shooter. I could say Romeo is the best PG and Scorer in Team PH. Well, I'm from PH and it's between Gou and Castro. Feel free to criticize me if you want.. its my opinion anyway. :)

Arakji. let's be honest 6 years ago, it was Jason Castro, no doubt. Now it's Arakji, I saw him guard Terrence Romeo 1 on 1, even NBA players would have a hard time. But he did shut the Terrence, Arakji is also an excellent passer, very good court vision and high IQ. I'm Filipino by the way.

It's Castro. All the candidates can score but Castro has the best plays on offense and deciding who to pass the ball at the right time.
I would say Mr. Jason Castro. Everytime he plays, he always carry the team. He play an unselfish ball. A very humble person. But base on the thumbnail, looks like Fiba have already chosen the PG, Terrence Romeo.

I would say jason castro pa din ang point guard ng asia, but the good thing is dalawang point guard ng pinas ang kasama dito, terrence romeo parang kyrie irving, more on scoring, shooting and clutch player. si jason castro naman more on tony parker or chris paul, pure point guard, pass first ang laro nya, his court vission and ability to control the play, our floor general.

The real work of a point guard is to deside what is the play and to locate shooters and scorers no to score so the pg will win is who has the most assist.
Guo has a lot of shake in his game. And that's coming from an avid Gilas supporter. Respect!

The most complete for me is Castro.. he's a real court general! can score in bunches, can steal in the passing lanes but still can dish like a true PG.. the others are just too much iso..

Aside from Jayson Castro and Terrence Romeo, not to mention that Philippines has Stanley Pringle and Paul Lee as well.
Terrence Romeo is more on a shooting guard. He got the high shooting accuracy, wether its crucial or not. Just happen that he's only a 5'10. So he classify as a PG. In the otherhand Jayson Castro has all the characteristic of a pure point guard. Talking about assist, setting a play, strong drive trough the basket and a reliable shooter outside.

I am a Filipino but Wael Arajki of Lebanon is definitely the top PG in Asia now. He is 6'4, only 25 years old, averaged 17 pts 5 rbs 6 assts last tourney, and was even eligible for the NBA draft in 2016. All who say Castro or Romeo are delusional. Castro is way past his prime. Romeo is inconsitent.
