Daylyt’s 3rd round was weak as fuck. Cortez was on his hills all 3 rounds. This is something I didn’t peep the first time I watched because I was too busy cheering for day. But when I actually listened to what Cor was saying, I was impressed and it was better than Day’s material. Day wasn’t wack in the first two, he had some bars, but Cortez cooked him.

He has all the shine and sales other battlers need big features to achieve by himself. Cortez can “win” the battle but he kinda got beat in two different ways. Following after this battle plus Day rapped far better and with knowledge that made a lot of Cortez’s bars fall completely flat. Not even going into the stale af Day name flips.
Daylyt arguably beat Cortez 2-1 without ever even directly battling him outside reference points and a few direct lines.

zaggaona again, there are many ways to battle. One being out-rapping your opponent. Day does two things here, not only does out-rap Cortez, he also out-barred him on a dope topic(not so much battle wise versus world issue wise). He still had lines in between for Cortez.
Whereas Cortez had predictable boring copied name flips, a few decent bars here and there, for the rest mainly average lines....
What Day does is by having the far more clever verse, for people who wanna hear dope rapping along with the bars(what battle rap used to have), it makes the opponent sound bland and sometimes bad in comparison bar wise(even IF it’s more relevant). It takes the power out of the punch in a way.
It’s funny cuz Cortez even admits to losing. Cuz in the 3rd Day says he got Cortez the first two, Cortez nods in agreement and says I got you.....THIS round😂
