    I won a 12R from a RUclips channel last year. The genshin impact edition actually. So it's basically been my daily phone for the last 9 months or so. It's been great. The weak spots are the ultra wide camera and the lack of wireless charging. 8g2 is way more powerful than my Pixel 6 pro which was my main phone before I won that one.
    The one I won had 16 GB of RAM and 256. And I love the fact that it didn't emphasize AI so much. In fact the AI stuff is largely buried in the settings although I suppose that could change with updates.
    At one point you could buy the 8 GB version for $299 at Best buy. Or $330 or something crazy like that

    I've had my OP12R and it's been a great phone. Not the best camera but im no photographer so I dont care too much about that. But the R editions are a great choice. Might not get this year's edition and hold on to my 12R because it still has a lot of life left in it but I'd recommend it to anyone else looking at the R edition. I'll probably wait for the 14R to come out next year if I dont have to upgrade til then.

    I currently have the 12r and I've enjoyed the experience my phone is giving me. Especially when I bought it on a sale and it came with free earbuds. The R series is OnePlus' true return to form to their flagship killer roots
    The R series is a perfect example of a powerhouse, midrange phone. I could care less about the camera (I can invest on a professional camera if I wanted a pro photographer's experience) and having a flagship chipset is already enough for a great "flagship killer." I'm also glad that they kept it a the 600 price like it's predecessor.

    Someone was crazy enough to sell the Oneplus 12R for 100$ on Offerup near me and after using it for 2 months I sold it because I knew "this phone is too good to be true....". Sold for 370$ and now I have my order in for the oneplus 13r (curved screens suck for cheap and ready to go screen protectors) and ive been using a pixel 8 that i charge 3x times a day and I'm so ready to go back to 2+ days of battery life and amazing everything. I'm so glad I waited, and I'm glad I don't need the oneplus 13 because it sounds like a great phone but my needs are met with the budget version and now I get a watch as well for free whohoo! After trade in and promos, I'm only paying 300$ (taxes was 50$ smh.) for the watch and phone and that's the best price price besides 599$.
    Oneplus and Google do such good trade ins, that even if you dont need to upgrade, they realllllly make you want to upgrade!! Can't wait for my Oneplus13r and I'll be making a video, either loving it or hating it hahahaha! Hopefully it feels like a Oneplus 12!

      I was thinking of pixel 8 pro, or 13r now. I don't like the curved screen of the 12r either. You have pixel 8pro? The battery is that bad?

    • @KryptonicHD
      @KryptonicHD 15 дней назад

      @@Rubensz07 I bought a Pixel 8 at launch with the earbuds after trading in the Pixel 5 for 300$ off! Then after using it for a couple months I realized it sucked because it gets warm all the time while doing nothing (I call it my pocket warmer) and whilst the cameras are amazing, they're barely as good as an iphone and the video is hit or miss honestly. And yes charging was an issue for me as well. I'm a 6am-12am user (allday) and the Pixel 8 requires like 3 total charges a day! With the oneplus 12r I charged it maybe every 2 days just so that I wouldn't start my 3rd day at like 20% ahahaha!
      This past year I've tried the S23,S24Plus, Oneplus 12R, Iphone15, Pixel 7pro, Pixel 8, and I'll throw in my Macbook air M1 because that's the only thing that compares to oneplus. It just works.
      Pros of the Oneplus franchise from my POV: Unbelieveable battery, insane charge speed (30mins for 3 days of batter) and the phone never gets warm unless you do video recording or gaming. Yes, the phone stays cool to the touch! No pocket warmer here! My biggest con with the 12R was the screen and not because it didn't look cool, or ghost touches, but purely because of screen protectors. I like to buy something quickly and forget. The oneplus12-12r having a curved screen made finding a good glass protector impossible. With the 13R it's fully flat unlike the 13 that still has a subtle curve on the edges. Basically I loved the 12r so much I sold it to be able to buy it again! Oneplus13 seems cool but I don't need the extra specs and I'm okay with saving 300$ for that!

      @@Rubensz07 Pixel 8 series was not worth it in my opinion; always warm, low battery, slow charging, just go with 13R, it's better in everything except cameras. Pixel wasn't the greatest camera either but it was good enough for android!

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 дней назад +1

      Well it's $300 more, you can't factor in gift cards for the 13 and not factored in for the 13r. You could also take advantage of those trade-in deals, trade in any device at all, and I'm pretty sure if you go to trade in a device to the OnePlus website, if you click that it's just some random device, they don't even make you send it in, they didn't last year at least. But if you take out all the sales, a $300 difference is pretty reasonable. I think it leaves room for both phones. $600 and $900 is a pretty big gap for an average person. But I do agree that the 13 really packs a punch at the price. And they were giving out free OnePlus 2 watches, plus $100 off for any phone trade, any condition. And even student discounts. They really brought it this year

    honestly as for water goes. you shouldnt have your phone with you in a pool or a lake...or hanging overboard on your boat with it. This is from experience on all fronts. Unless you drop it in the toilet where you can grab it fast, maybe a popol, the phone will be gone anyway so to me the IP rating is best for being on a counter with water splash. Otherwise i do not care about that rating. Dont be careless. Keep in mind, many times there is a flaw in that and water seeps in through....water always takes path of least resistance

    I think it's funny how all of you reviewers think the 13r is built better because you're all iPhone people. Love that one plus made a phone that looks like an iPhone with a flat screen and flat sides. If you want a damn iPhone buy an iPhone

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 дней назад

      I guess "flat sides" and a "flat screen" is all about iPhone? What are you talking about? Most Android phones have had flat screens since the beginning of time, many of them with flat sides.
      Sorry but this channel is called ANDROID DIGEST. And I haven't ever kept an iPhone as my main phone. EVER. I am extremely familiar with them. I've tested them. Used them. But I will never ever use them as my main phone.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  16 дней назад +4

      Yes. On sale. Pretty sure your phone retails for $600. And this phone is crazy incentives driving down the price. It charges faster than the pixel, it's faster than the pixel. A better display than the pixel. And you can get it roughly for the same price, at launch, with the incentives. The pixel has a better camera. I'm not saying that this phone is better technically than the pixel 8A in every way or anything. Just saying it's very very competitive at the price. I'm personally using it over the OnePlus 13 right now

      I got mine pre-ordered and with that extra discount it came to $549. Subtract a $148 trade-in and it's basically $400 before tax. Also opted for the free ear buds in the pre-order bundle. And that Snapdragon 8 G3 will run circles around your Pixel 8a.

    I can't see this phone competing with my S22U

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  16 дней назад +1

      To be fair, not many phones will compete with that.
      This phone competes with the screen, with the speed, with the software, I guess the one thing you're missing is going to be that great zoom camera. These mid-range phones normally don't come with a good zoom camera. So the zoom stinks. That's really the big trade-off. Your phone may be slightly more balanced because you don't have to worry about having a bad zoom camera. Either way your phone is great and no need to upgrade unless you're ready.

    • @Fister_of_Muppets
      @Fister_of_Muppets 16 дней назад +2

      The camera set on your S22U will be better. But the Snapdragon 8 G3 in the OnePlus 13R will outrun your S22U (it's the same CPU in the S24U).
