How was it the final when Djokovic lost in straight sets to Medvedev? I can see when people say that about like the 2022 Roland Garros quarterfinal between Rafa and Djokovic, because that match was way more interesting and Rafa destroyed Ruud in the finals, but Djokovic got steamrolled in the final by Daniil so.

So this is what tennis is gonna be like now post Fedal. Endless boring, athletically-intense but artless baseline rallies. No tactics, precise shot placement (Djoko can usually manage that at least), no drop shots, net attack, cross shots aimed at moving opponent out of position, passing shots, poor court coverage. Most shots centered, they barely move. Compare that to rallies when Nadal is on the court, how he makes you run all around the court, recovers from impossible positions.

Yeah like they're just kept hitting the middle, always cross-court and no risks.. this put me to sleep and why I stopped watching tennis in the 2010s.

If the point gets long it's largely Djokovic's fault. It doesn't matter if the court is fast enough, Djokovic will always be involved in this kind of boring rally anyway.
