Touring is what I cut my teeth on, setup is everything, I had every tool, setup station, tire warmers, you name it. Back when I started Lipos and brushless were just getting started, I built all my batteries, tuned my own motors, it's a full time job
On road is hands down the best practice a guy can get outside of off road. Guys with onroad experience have a competitive advantage vs. pure off road guys. Congrats on the new car! Debating what classes we should run for our winter series. Gonna check these guys out.
This brings back soo many memories I grew up on a carpet track in Racine Wisconsin. WE Had a hobby shop called Garry's hobby center I spent every dime I had there back in the day! I started out with toy grade rcs and my first hobby grade was a Tamia Blackfoot then a Rc10 and a bowlink. Great memories! You can never get the smell of tire traction out of your mind!lol Great vid friend 🤠
Congrats Ethan! Those boys are definitely future champs!!! 🤘🔥🔥 I so wish we had an indoor carpet track here in GA! Thanks for the shout outs on the live stream last night!
Just got into RC recently and I’ve been loving the channel! So many different ways to enjoy the hobby and the community is amazing. All I have now is a slash ultimate but man do I have some plans haha
Awesome Ethan ..... Way Cool Junior.. Put a beating on the big boys...lol . Good luck . Be safe.Safe.. and God Bless... love the cross man!!!! That says alot about your character... Great channel guys keep up the good work.. 😊
I love hearing your thoughts about on road racing as an experienced off road racer. I have almost the same thoughts but about off road when it comes to tires. I feel like off road has more tire tuning and can be more difficult to be fast. Also I think you attending a highly competitive track environment might skew how much "time" between races is needed. Charge those batteries, sauce up the tires and just drive. Great content man! Keep it up!
@@1maticsportsandGames speed of the car is simple math. It's rpm divided by your total final drive ratio multiplied by driven wheels radius. (Mind your units) So for a 5.0 t modified running 8.5 fdr with the motor spinning at 50k rpm down the straight and say normal 1/10 scale tc tires at 64mm diameter, you're staring at just under 45mph. INDOORS. Outdoor races they've been clocked on the radar going 70.
I got my first rc yesterday and it pulls one side and a suspension pin slides out is that normal and front is higher then the back it used rc and front tire kinda lose its a shredder I ran it twice and lost a body clip but must say it's fun I have no clue on what I am doing any help for a newbie to the hobby if it's normal or did I get burn ..and thanks you for the content and awesome job Ethan 👏
You should come to OnTrak Raceway in Theodore AL. Just outside Mobile AL. Indoor black carpet. Comparable to Snowbirds Track in size and length. We have several national champs local and race USGT, VTA, Mudboss (oval) and many classes on road and oval. Check it out this Sat. Liverc Ontrak Raceway
Question? How fast were the cars you think in the adult race??? I'm getting my first hobby grade rc 1/10 and it goes 22.5 mph. I'm getting it today from Amazon, it's out for delivery now to me.😃🏎💨
@@1maticsportsandGames Not sure what you think is the “adult” race ?? No age groups here. We run by class of vehicles. Not speed or age. 30 mph would Be my guess for our track. Mod class is faster. Check the OnTrack site out.
@@MarkSantaMaria So I have a question, my local track will have a new layout in a week or so, would you like to come check it out? It’s in Speegleville Tx.
It’s weird, I am not interested in racing on a track like that at all. But if I had a place like that where I live, I would be there all the time, because there’s no tracks near me, and RC’s are illegal in my county.
What great memories you are making with your son! My son is now 46 and he still talks about our racing days.
Most of my childhood memories are RC'ing with my old man all over the state!
Carpet racing is a blast, I race at PCRC in Bolivar Mo, great people and lots of fun!

Good evening brother cool track
I wish I had any style RC track remotely close to me, but no dice. Love the videos Mark.
Have a good time
Nice, congratulations to your little man🏎💨👀😳, question, how fast are the cars that the adults were running? 20mph?
I just want fun- racing is not for me- BASH BASH- making a truck that WON'T break- that's my thing
Now its more interesting for me to watch
Great content! Very insightful!
Just wait til Ethan gets a little older. He already killing it!!
Man last time I did carpet racing was like 99-2000, and that was 4 cell nastrucks, back in the latter years of ni-MH
Remember the work those NiMH were? Cell balancing prior to charging... If only there was a balance charger back than
@@nrtv20 yes yes it was, i actually still have a tekin charger that was one of the popular ones to do that type of charging lo.
good stuff, I hope you do more on road content in the future!
Go Ethan!!!!!!

Hey mark, what lap count system do they use?
That mall looks DEAD dead. Are you guys in there after hours?
I really want to try Mini-Z racing, but the closest onroad track is about 45 minutes to an hour away. So may try to start a club at my campus.
Honestly anything under an hour I would consider a 'local' track when it comes up RC haha! Good luck getting started!
That's how ya do it in an air conditioned mall
F1 is the best on road class , come race in Omaha Mark
What happened to on road racing?
💕👍
Did they just build that mall or are they getting ready to demolish it? It’s completely dead in there…
Alot of malls are empty these days, thank free next day shipping.. lol

Your better off running a mod class to start, spec classes are all about the money to buy the top of the line gear
