I’m planning on getting a Dachshund at the end of the year. This was very helpful :) Although I have one question: if you get him used to puppy pads, isn’t it difficult to then switch to going outside? Thank you!
@@itsZeldaJeane So exciting! I’m glad this helps. Bentley switched very naturally on his own, it seemed like he decided that he wanted to only do it outside after about 6 months so he started holding it until we went outside (which of course we then did 4x a day). Even though we didn’t train him to do that, we did cheer him on every time he did it outside so he naturally understood that going outside was a good idea and he seemed to prefer it too! He now lets us know by sitting at the door when he needs to go, which he kinda came up with himself too - but of course we do listen to it every time to encourage him to keep doing it. Good luck!
