I remember enjoying the Microsoft solitaire suite that was part of Windows. You owned it. Then my free Windows OS upgrade disabled the perfectly fine collection that I already owned. But that was OK. Microsoft let me download their new collection. There were embedded ads, but they didn't disturb game-play. Occasionally it would take you to a website, but you could go right back to your game. Then they made you watch video ads before you could play. Not too many ads. Now they are going crazy with the ads and it's just no fun anymore. I guess you can get your games back with a paid subscription. Pay and pay. Hopefully I can find replacement apps that I can own and dump the now-annoying Microsoft games. Just like I did with Office.

playing Solitaire gives me a sense of relaxation. It helps me to get 'centered' before leaving the computer to go on to other things.
