- Here is a fairly rare 8 bell Sonora chime clock, this was their "flagship" model/top of the line Sonora striking clock. Its the one pictured on the front of the Tran Seth Thomas books. Plays Westminster and Whittington chimes... Sounds beautiful and I still need to service, but it works! Acquired from a customer who did not want to spend the money to repair.

Fabulous sound. I have one too and just waiting for it to come back after overhaul. The most expensive clock I've ever bought and had it sent here all the way from USA. I'll upload video soon.
Who would not want to repair this piece of art?
So nice to also have Whittington, my favorite. Beautiful clock, nice sounding bells.
Hurrah! What a pleasant sound is the sound of musical sequence at every quarter hour and hour strike following the fourth quarter on tuned set of bells!
Amazing sound ! Nice looking clock too !
A very challenging movement to work on, a rare treat to bring back to life.
Beautiful sounding chimes
Beautiful clock ❤
Definitely matches with 1930’s philco radio!
Fun Fact: Sonora Bell clocks are made in the early 1900s. They have 8 bells and 5 bells on each of the Sonora bell clocks. They have two movements, the one with the two key holes, the striking hammer and the pendulum. And the second movement which chimes between the half’s and quarters, also has one key hole on the right bottom corner.
Some 4 bells
some nice chime !
Lucky!
Very Nice. You might want to bend the hammers so they are just above the bells. That way, you wouldn't have that dull sound from the hour bell because the chime hammer is resting right on it.
That's part of the design. The hour hammer sounds like that in order to differentiate the hour strike sound from the chime sound.
Nice seeing you back! Where have you been?
I know, I realized when I uploaded the video its been a year since I uploaded anything. Staying busy with life....... crazy busy! Thanks, its nice to be missed!
Sound like a GAMELAN (Indonesian Javanese music)
Do you also have any "new" turret clocks?
No new ones, they are getting harder to come by. And I have a couple local courthouses that are on the verge of transferring service calls to me, but not quite yet.
@@towerclock1843 I also heard that new mechanical turret clocks aren't made in the US anymore, unless they are homemade ones. But actually, there are other countries in the world that actually still make and sell new mechanical turret clocks :)
At the front its a time/strike movement, two holes, easy to wind. How do u wind the chimes
Its a bit above the right hole I think
What is the value of this clock, I have one just like it ?
anyone know where I could get a Seth Thomas appraised? I found one that I can not find online.
You could go to an antiques dealer
Can we hear st michaels on it if its a triple chime
I wish lol they only came with westminster, or the super rare 8 bell with westminster and whittington
@@blagosvirakolo i got a legacy 3w with a st thomas triple chime i am thinking of putting bells for one of these in it or rods i modded clock because it quit working and mechanism was missing parts so i put a triple chime mechanism in it and my favorite chime is whittington chime
What year and model and model number?
Нормально
dooooooooowooooo doooooowoooo
It plays Westminster and Winchester chimes not Whittington chimes
No, this is Whittington, not Winchester. Winchester is played on six notes.
