honestly side order doesn't have a bad ending in the same way the other single player endings did, especially for Eight, so I agree it's fine as it is
If I had to guess what the bad ending would be for side order then agent 8 would become one of the enemies

The 1st one: If she fails her mission, earth is taken over by a chemical ooze that turns everything into mamalian monsters
2nd: If she can't destory a statue in time, the city is flooded with a similar ooze, but this one turns people into "living" drones, ready to seek and destory
3rd: If she can't beat the enemy's leader, she's hypnotized into being on his side (I don't think this is actually in the games as an ending, though)
4th: This one actually *does* cannonically lose, but is eventually saved. Her mind is hijacked by the same fluid from #2's bad ending.

I just realized. 4 has the tamest fate yet in the bad timelines. Sanitization and furitization is an awful fate, but 4 would just be given the Hypno Shades. And we know from Callie that it’s able to be reversed, or at the very least, contained. 4 definitely has it better then 3, 8, and 3.0
Marie used low tide ink, which helps with memory loss. It's assumed that if the shades are removed normally, then 4 will be reverted to the mindset of a toddler due to memory loss.

It's weird thiking that all agents are kinda Kids when they start the story mode, and they face really disturbing battles that are bigger than everything, really sad, but at the end we kinda forget the challenges and pain they pass through, its good that someone cares about the other endings in this very cinematographic form.(now nintendo need an anime about splatoon)
Technically, it is more of an animeted comic and it is in Japanese but there is still the official Manga. The actual story modes are a bit on the short and tho...

I really want in a Splatoon anime to learn about all the agents' backstories - where do they come from; their personalities and their struggles
My brother read the manga Splatoon and it’s really just about the gameplay and all kids friendly vibes. Hell yes, I want a fucking anime about the Splatoon lore, including all the dark sides from it, that would be awesome. Even better if they add the easter egg from the Splatoon 1 story mode (the apocalyptic noises from the distance at the end of a level)

It's interesting because we don't get much information regarding fuzzy octolings, unlike sanitized octolings. The idea that some or even all inklings/octolings just straight up become mammals is fascinating. Just imagine that in the bad ending, where everyone becomes fuzzy, they eventually begin to morph from fuzzy balls to terrifying beasts.
i believe it was said when inklings/octos go fuzzy they “lose their sense of self” and can’t move so in the canon bad ending everyone just starved to death

I just realized this, but I love the differences in the Agent’s expressions when confronted with their enemies.
Neo seems extremely off-put, probably because she’s never seen anything even close to Grizz before.
Eight is terrified. As Tartar reveals its true nature, she realizes that her hell has only just begun.
Four is weirded out, an expression that to me reads “What is this guy’s deal?” Octavio is very goofy and eccentric, especially for the head of an entire race and their military.
Finally there’s Captain 3, who looks at Tartar in a kind of awe. Just by seeing the true power of the sanitization, her mind is already corrupted. Either that, or she is simply bewildered by the spectacle before her.
(Sry if I got any pronouns wrong, I headcanon them all as female)

How is 8 dead? Sanitation doesn't kill the victim it removes a lot of their emotions

@@codyholley it does state in the Octo expansion that the sanitized octolings don’t have heartbeats, or any signs of life. If that’s not dead, I don’t know what is.

Cap WAS knocked out, hypnotized and sanitized, even gaining some weird goo at first that most headcanon would leave some blindness/scaring

this is what would of happened to the agents in their 'bad endings' not the actual game itself. although the original splatoon 2 storymode does not have a 'bad ending'
to be honest, agent 8 probably would of been sanitized - during the final part of the game before agent 3 and tartar, there is dialog that supports the theory that agent 8 would of died,if you do die during the final levels. and with the bad ending, inkopolis would of been submerged in the 'primordial ooze' and it probably would of killed or sanitized the civillians. agent 8 probably would of became sanitized with it. also agent 8 may of actually been turned into ooze by the blender if 3 never came in time.
also with neo 3, she probably wouldn't of turned into an actual monster, but probably some furry... hairball like what happens in the actual game if you touch the fuzz. it might just be a headcannon. and with agent 4, she may or may not of been mind controlled my dj octavio if she lost against him. or if marie never came to help her. she might of just kept continuing to fight octavio until she won, we don't know.

I think the fuzzball form is like a beginning transformation...Mr Grizz made the ooze to bring mammals back, just turning people into immobile fuzzballs wouldn't do that
so likely the fuzzball is just from the first contact...and then they transform into more bear-like creatures@@koiyune
Incredibly impressive, especially your own takes on what happens to to 4 and neo 3, since in game, the fuzzified inklings are just comedic fuzzballs while in splat 2's story mode, agent 4's splat only has Callie yelling in despair.
(That art of fuzzified neo 3 is incredible, so much more animalistic and primal than just, HAIR, and a bit of a tan.)
Yeah, that art is amazing, I just wish we got more than just fuzzball art officially from splatoon for bad ending neo agent 3. oh well, maybe someday they'll show that art..
To me, neo 3’s bad end look feels like they went insane with the guilt of having the entire world end along with the fuzzy ooze being a constant reminder of that guilt making them go truly insane.
In-universe neo would just be sitting in space with octavio unable to return to earth... honestly thats probably worse than death.

God, I can’t get over how absolutely frightening this is. I find myself often cutting the game short of how truly terrifying the lore can get (especially with the addition of Neo 3). This animation is so simple, yet it just adds to the eerie and disturbing vibe. The silhouettes of each villain is such a great detail.
I think I’m gonna find myself coming back to this video more than once in the future

When I first played Octo expansion, I ended up running out of time against the final boss, thus got the alternative bad ending first.
It was very surprising, and horrifying in all honesty. This video reminds me of said shock and awe.

happened to me with splatoon 3
it was my first splatoon game and i was utterly horrified
we really went from "haha sploon cast on funny sitcom plot" to "failure has a cost hero..."
My own headcanon is that this animation is one of the captains "bad thoughts" like when ever they're hanging out, they just randomly think "What if anyone of us had lost?"
I unfortunately got the fuzzball ending first because i was inkredibly anxious and i freaked out last second. I was horrified. I AM horrified. That music, with the inkling and octolings yelling in pain, the fuzzy octarians making their presence known. I hated it. Every second. I failed two more times, re-witnessing the true horror that I failed to prevent. My god I am traumatized.
Yeah, me too I got the bad ending on the first try because of my armor sucking Deez Nuts on crack.

Even if it’s just kind of a reskin of octo expansions bad ending it’s still kind of horrifying

Whats interesting is if all of the bad endings had occurred, the octolings and inklings wouldve likely gone to war again after the disappearance of rhe great zap fish and callie, and while they fought, tartar wouldve enacted his plan to sanitize everyone. Grizz would be deep underground and likely unaffected by tartars plan, but would probably still try to use his fuzzy ooze on the sanitized ink. There could have been a war waged between the last relics of humanity, beasts and machines, with inklings and octarians caught in the middle as unwilling soldiers
Assuming the "Ultimate Lifeform" Tartar keeps going on about is humanity, wouldn't Mr Grizz and Tartar's motivations overlap?

I just realized that Agent 3 is a part of every splatoon game. That also means 3 is forced to share the same fate as the others. Either losing to Octavio like Agent 4, getting sanitized by TarTar like Agent 8, or getting mammalfied by Mr. Grizz like Agent NEO 3

If we’re being honest here, if the original Agent 3 didn’t win, none of the other agents would have even existed.
Depends cause there wasn't really any bad endings for splatoon one it was either beat octavio or not If you fail you retry cause the world isn't at stake and you only do it for a granpa and electricity
But i am guessing that If captain failed and were to die then only 8 and neo 3 would be impacted since captain is never seen with 4 during the story mode Marie is the reason why we are there
@@Bokkotoe6224yeah but with the great zapfish gone then another war may have broken out and the calamari inkantation would’ve never reached Marina’s ears not starting Off the Hook who then helped Agent 8 not to mention Agent 4 wouldn’t have been there or needed since Callie was never hypnotized but again Agent 8 would probably still be a true octarian after not hearing the inkantation then the final fest between chaos and order wouldn’t have happened not starting splatoon 3. so tar tar probably would have sanitized everything and then grizz would still be able to furitize everyone on top of sanitization

Jokes aside, man Splatoon can get pretty messed up in some ways if you think about it. Like if the bad guys win, the outcome can be pretty dark. You've captured that feeling pretty well with this. Good job!

-the scar is a cut all the way through, or
-the scar is actually a bundle of lasers that emit white light

Neo 3 was a happy inkling, with her adorable smallfry. Then, she became an animalistic monster with no memories of who she was.
8 was a kind octoling, trying to get by in a world she didnt remember. Then she was sanitized and went under the control of an evil commander.
4 was a gratful inkling, young, innocent and carefree. Then she met a corrupt leader, and forced to fight the ones she loved.
Captain 3 was a retired agent, one who had seen it all before. Then she was ambushed, by an unknown enemy. And made to kill her troops.
Remember this, always keep an eye out adventurer, nobody know what might be waiting behind the next corner...

My OC, Agent 7 was an Octoling with probably the weirdest hairstyle choices ever. She heard about what happened to the other agents and set out to find them. Nearly getting splatted, she took out Neo 3 with (not so much) ease.

@@the.axolotlgirl So basically, it was still a blender but it was also attached to a meat grinder with sludge sausages coming out of the base. And the blender had a set of teeth with braces and a bunch of eyeballs in it.
Think of it being kinda like Mutagen Man from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, except 5 times more horrific.

That final image if 3 is gonna give me nightmares for months man. This is so well done, it gives such a sense of despair and sadness that, having played all of the games, you call really fit yourself into the agent’s shoes. Also the art style is so god damn good i wish i could draw ; - ;

There's something weird about us humans - we love twists, her mind's been twisted from fighting the ooze to let it possess her. She seems to be reborn under the dominion of her new powers. Also, check out how her tentacles have become hair. It's all over her. Kinda more humanoid than her natural inky look, even though this is uncorrect and we know it since in the game, whenever we touch the substance we turn into a fur ball.]

The game seems very cute and happy, but when we think about the agent's adventure it is dark and sad. They have to fight to save everyone, but if they fail a little thing, it's the end for them. (I realized but Kid's games are very dark, but adult's games aren't)

I’ve also been obsessed with the whole “bad ending” stuff for splatoon and seeing you make a video about it is just amazing.
Also, I like the designs that you gave for Neo 3 and Agent 4, I’ve thought about what would happen if 4 lost the boss fight in splatoon 2 and what would happen to them, and maybe even how Marie would react. And I think your depiction of how 4 (and the rest of the agents) would look like if they lost is just perfect.
