Several of the biggest market experts have been voicing their opinions on exactly how awful they think the next downturn would be, and how far equities may have to go, as recession draws closer and inflation continues well above the Fed's 2% objective. I'm trying to build a portfolio of at least $850k by the time I'm 60, therefore I need suggestions on what investments to make.
Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.
It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to over $750k.
Recently, I've been considering the possibility of speaking with consultants. I need guidance because I'm an adult, but I'm not sure if their services would be all that helpful.
I've shuffled through investment coaches and yes, they can be positively impactful to an individual's portfolio, but do your due diligence to find a coach with grit, one that withstood the 08' crash. For me, “Rebecca Nassar Dunne” turned out to be better and smarter than all the advisors I ever worked with till date, I’ve never met anyone with as much conviction.

Car manufacturers in China can produce quality products are a much lower cost because they are highly automated and have integrated their supply chains.

Manufacturers and construction companies would see increases in cost of material and would undoubtedly pass these increases onto the consumers. The net effect would be massive inflation.
The problem is Bob didnt warn people of these bad ideas prior to the election

Yes. America can manufacture everything that China do. But the price will be double, even triple. It's that simple. If imported goods from China with tariffs 60 %, America will have to pay 60 % more. It's that simple. 😅😅😅
Ain’t no company trying to pay 2x more for their employees 😂 companies are too stingy to even give a $0.5 raise to their hourly workers a year
Not that simple, those companies selling goods not from China will also take advantage of the opportunity, and try to match 60% price increasing.

Let's see an example: a tariff added to a Chinese product. It was cost 50$ and now it costS 100$. They expect that the domestic counterpart which cost 75$ will be preferred instead of the Chinese.
But what will happen, is that the domestic product's price will be raised to 90$. Or if you want to replace the Chinese product with one from another country where it was also cheap, they will also raise the price just to be a little less than the Chinese with tariff.
WHERES THE MAGA CULT RIGHT NOW?
China has already switched where they source the bulk of their wheat and soya beans to Brazil and Argentina. It has affected USA farmers badly.
every single thing that is imported into the USA will go up, everything made in the USA will be effected either directly or indirectly.. its a no win situation for the USA no matter what Trump insists.. people often fail to see the whole picture when world trade is involved..
a good example is where Thailand experienced massive flooding, Thailand doesn't have a lot of large manufacturing plants and heavy industry but does have thousands of small workshops making small parts like screws, bolts etc.. the same small components that are sent as "just in time" manufacturing deliveries to the larger manufacturing plants in more industrialized countries.. now all of a sudden those manufacturers run out of these small components and they grind to a halt...
for those living in the USA.. now in regards to tariffs, make a list of everything you bought last week that was made/imported from anywhere, add the base 20% to what you paid, that trump will place on everything coming into the USA, and see just how much your weekly shop will cost extra...

Most Americans would not want overpriced products. Maybe ok with a slight margin if it’s US product but def not 2 times more expensive. People need to make a living and do not want to overpay. As simple as that
That is why the point of tariffs is to bring back companies to the US where US workers are hired, they make those products that usually you order in china, produce matterials here in US through the efforts of the manufacturing companies!
