Joe Marler has suffered for many years from undiagnosed depression. Without being an expert, I think being funny was one of his coping mechanisms. One of my favourite english players!
Marler refused to go to SA for the lions tour, didn’t want to be apart from his family. Same reason he’s not playing for England during the USA game July 4th, I believe, as they have to isolate.
Mrs Marler gave birth at end of June 2021. Both doing well. So we can conclude that ' Laughing Boy' Joe is a dedicated family man. - Good on him. Missed out on what will be his last chance Lions tour to be with family.
Hello, I discovered your channel a short time ago and it's a real pleasure to see an American so passionate. Of course, some rules still escape you but you have the passion and in this sport it is what is needed. In France, where I come from, there are two schools, the penguins (soccer) and those who have hands and use them. I started playing rugby when I was 13 years old, I was 1.80m tall, I played 2nd row. The rules have evolved a lot and in my time a forward did the cleaning. The game has changed but there remains from that time a camaraderie, a sense of ethics, respect and no matter the size, the color or the physique the team is one and indivisible. Professionalism has lost some of that while gaining in spectacle and performance, so goes the evolution but the evolution also goes with injuries, shocks and concussions. When a 100 kg man runs like a track and field champion, the shocks are inevitably harder. I advise you to go back and discover what has shaped this sport, it is not only victories or defeats, it is people who have struggled, unified, liberated themselves and beyond that have created unbreakable bonds. Ireland, Wales, Scotland, South Africa, New Zealand and now Argentina, Italy and a number of Asian countries are coming together to celebrate rugby. Beyond the performances, you should watch and feel the energy of the teams and their supporters. Listen to the chants of the Arms Park in Cardiff, the Ireland's call, the Flowers of Scotland and all the anthems including La Marseillaise, the Hakas of the southern hemisphere and you will touch with your finger what the rugby planet is, it is in the blood, in the body. You are well on your way to understanding and if one day you want to know more, go and see the clubs of these countries and attend these Saturday or Sunday matches and these beautiful third halves where the opponents meet to drink, eat and redo the match. Rugby is a state of mind. Sorry for the length of my intervention but passion is everywhere.
So the bit that was quite confusing for you (when he was in the silver clothes walking past the bar) He read his contract and it says he has to wear Adidas branded clothes when heading to the flame. Every week he finds a new Adidas outfit that's pretty "out there" In terms of style. It's become a bit of an attraction in itself seeing what he wears each week.
If you are looking for people with 'character' and people that are 'characters' a rugby club is a good place to start. A rugby club in a pub works even better.
He was told that he has to wear Adidas as they are the team shirt sponsor so he wears the most outrageous Adidas tracksuits he can find. Check out what he wore walkover to Big Game 13 yesterday!
Coach... just have a good look at ALL the Harlequin match coverage... keep your eyes peeled and trained on Joe Marler... just do it then you will know what you are dealing with. 1. you do not want to be tackled by him. 2. You will not get past him unless you are further away from his fingers than he can reach. 3. He is always the last dude to arrive at a maul unless he started it. 4. His modus operandi is simple save every ounce of energy you have until you can make a BIG HIT. Some might call him the laziest dude on the field... my old Dad would have said "if you want to do something perfectly ask a lazy man... he will not want to waste energy by doing anything twice". That's Joe Marler.
The guys a legend mate and a national treasure which is hard to say as a Welshman, but he is, hell of a player and overcome mental health issues, man's a legend. No doubt some of his humour went over your head because as an American you don't follow rugby but I assure you... The guys funny as fuck
The bar is more specifically the long serving 'table' /drinking area *with drinks behind) lNSIDE a pub. "wheresJon?..Hes up at the bar getting the drinks in!" "Theres a tab behind the bar" meaning money set aside to order drinks on. We do have Wine Bars or 'bars' within hotels too.
A bar is the counter you go up to to order your drinks. It can be in a hotel, a theatre, a function room, or inside a pub (public house). Some large pubs may have more than one bar. All pubs have a bar, but not all bars are in pubs...😁😁
We have pubs and bars and pubs have bars also. A pub is a public house it has a bar in it which is the bit where you are served, but the culture of a pub is different to a bar or nightclub, its like a shared living room.
@@CoachTube They are, each pub has its own character and finding one where you feel just at home is one of the pleasures of growing up a brit. Such pubs we refer to as "locals" :) If you ever visit West Yorkshire , I would be honoured to show you a couple of good ones. Keep up the great content.
@@CoachTube Just found your channel. As you say, Joe plays for Harlequins, whose ground is called the Stoop and is very close to Twickenham Stadium. If you come over when the rugby season is on you must try and catch a game!
You're gonna love some of the old village pubs. 600..700 year old pubs that are the heart if the community. They usually have their own cricket teams and Always a big soppy dog that'll remind you of Joe Marler.
In answer to you question we have both bar's and pub's as they are different things. Pub is short for public house and comes from the the time when women of a household would make beer and sell it from their house for a bit of extra income this over the year's evolved into pub's in Britain and Ireland. Most pub's have a family friendly atmosphere often serve food aswell as drink and allow children and dog's in as most home's didn't have large or any living/sitting rooms people would treat a pub as a communal living room in small villages pub's were often used as makeshift courts and community meetings, this only scratches the surface of what pub's have been used for in communities over the years. Bars are similar to American bar's sometimes serve food and have a way more adult atmosphere also less likely to be open in the middle of the day.
Bar is used this side of the pond. A pub is specifically a public house. Bar is used for other places that serve alcohol. Hotel, club house, restaurant etc. Some pubs are called bars. It’s complicated.
Hey bro. Really enjoying the content. You should check out some "All Blacks Best Tries" videos. Not only for the general radness, but also to see a team that just hums with unity and precision.
The USA has a Rugby Union league called MLR has 12 to 13 teams. The USA were the official winners of the first two gold medals in the Olympics way back 1920 24. Don't know were you are based but have seen one of your videos asking if the US has a competition.
A Public house 'Pub' can have many bars. Often there are several entrances to rooms which have included a saloon, lounge, taproom, snug, games room, music room, smoke room, outside bars, and even billiards room for bigger pubs prices could be higher in some rooms Most pubs I've been to have had between 2-5 bars and some have an off-license with another counter ( bar) same staff serve all bars Normally a family live on-site Tolly Cobbold built some amazing Pubs
You should look up the video from early in his career when he was head butted by Marcos Ayerza Joe responded with one of the best uppercuts you will see on a rugby pitch (I was there!) Both players rightly sent off of course but it did rather announce his presence to the rugby world Wy wife’s favourite player - mainly because she has seen how great he is with his young children and indeed others Great character!
Pub short for Public House. Fancier places get called Bars . Pubs are where men go for a beer. Bars are where you go if you want open wallet surgery and lots of foliage and shit in your girls drink.
The tats quote doesn’t really matter because most Japanese people don’t mind tattoos on foreigners it when it’s on their own natives they don’t like due to the yakuza being well known for them

"Is the horse a team" - I knew from the moment Marler started on that monologue that it wouldn't be understood by an American. very dry British humour.
Joe Marler has suffered for many years from undiagnosed depression. Without being an expert, I think being funny was one of his coping mechanisms. One of my favourite english players!
Very much so. He also likes going to have a 'bob around in the sea' because it reminds him how many bigger things in life there are.
The Pub is the building. The Bar is either a room in the pub or the counter you approach to order your drinks.
Marler refused to go to SA for the lions tour, didn’t want to be apart from his family. Same reason he’s not playing for England during the USA game July 4th, I believe, as they have to isolate.
OH! Thank you for that info Si May!
Yea he would be there otherwise but you never know with injuries
Yeah he’s currently the best in the world in his position, it’s a shame we won’t see him playing internationally
Mrs Marler gave birth at end of June 2021. Both doing well.
So we can conclude that ' Laughing Boy' Joe is a dedicated family man. - Good on him.
Missed out on what will be his last chance Lions tour to be with family.
Marler didn't just refuse to go, he decided to stay for his family and his mental health

Thanks for staging this Coach‼️🥂

I love the way you didn't pick up on the minging silver tracksuit. 😂
I don't mean to be rude, but if you think that silver tracksuit is normal, you need help!
He was told that he has to wear Adidas as they are the team shirt sponsor so he wears the most outrageous Adidas tracksuits he can find. Check out what he wore walkover to Big Game 13 yesterday!
James Haskell he looks like can fight (6ft4 260lb) pure muscle BUT!!! The nicest dude ever
Try and watch is documentary about mental health in UK. very good.

When Qyins played Bristol this year Him and his old chum/teammate Sinclair's scrums were full of brilliantly funny banter.🤣
Wow! Jonah Lomu and now Joe Marler, rugby's two biggest celebrities by far.
Thank you Liam Evans for watching 😃

In England we call it a Pub (Public House) the bar is inside the pub and it is the point where drinks are exchanged for payment.
I met him once we were chatting and he just goes look I really have to go I proper need a shit and proceeded to run off 🤣🤣

The bar is where you order and see your drink selection available in the pub.
Joe Marler total respect
Joe did a great video on his mental health and depression. Certainly worth a watch
Absolutely worth watching!!
If you walk in to a place and the vast majority are drinking beer and it makes you want a beer (or similar) it's a pub, any other place is a bar
A Public house 'Pub' can have many bars. Check Joe Marlers documentary, its called Big Boys Dont Cry, its about his depression.. its brilliant
You should look up the video from early in his career when he was head butted by Marcos Ayerza
Joe responded with one of the best uppercuts you will see on a rugby pitch
(I was there!)
Both players rightly sent off of course but it did rather announce his presence to the rugby world
Wy wife’s favourite player - mainly because she has seen how great he is with his young children and indeed others
Great character!
Pub the building and when we say we are going to bar it mean we going to the counter in a pub or club
You should look him up, interesting guy. Suffered from bad depression and has just started speking about it.
Watch “chasing the sun ” doc on South African @ the World Cup will make you cry
In England a pub and a bar are slightly different things
He did a documentary called “big boys don’t cry” it’s on RUclips
Joes funny, watch the honey badger, Nick Cummings.
Was just going to say this. Honey badger is a legend.
Pub short for Public House. Fancier places get called Bars . Pubs are where men go for a beer. Bars are where you go if you want open wallet surgery and lots of foliage and shit in your girls drink.
React to Joe Marler wears the club shop. You wont regret it
Bud, don't know if you get it there but Rugby season open here in New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands etc.
No joe isn't in the lions squad, but he has shown interest in playing in the MLR in the US
“
Mr Fingers!!!!!
I think you should look at nick cummins, AKA the honey badger!
After the fight with haskell joe just looked at him and went 1-0 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the bit you didn't gey Joe is known for wearing mad tracksuits to games
And you haven't even heard him do his one to one with Nelson Mandela yet.
The tats quote doesn’t really matter because most Japanese people don’t mind tattoos on foreigners it when it’s on their own natives they don’t like due to the yakuza being well known for them
7:30 it was because of his outfit 😅
Just good have some humour. Even if bad, shits just so serious, but should always laugh.
Watch joe marler and James haskil
If you like Joe you'll like the honey badger Nick Cummins
He’s great…‼️👊🔥🥂🍻
🪖
Also watch Nigel Owens funniest moments
If you're looking to react to funny rugby players, the aussies have the badger... Greatest banter in southern hemisphere Rugby, absolute treasure... N I'm a kiwi, so for me to be advocating for an aussie says ALOT just in itself lol
Nick Cummins is the man.. Had to Google him to be sure... Absolutely hilarious
Maybe try this as a start point:
ruclips.net/video/7qPiX6vY7Qc/видео.html
Bro you look like lou diamond😂
Rugby humour takes some getting used to its basically insulting your team mates and being silly.
Please react on Aphelele Fassi
"Is the horse a team" - I knew from the moment Marler started on that monologue that it wouldn't be understood by an American. very dry British humour.
Grow the show
Now react to James Haskell
Coach, I'm British and I don't find Joe Marler funny; only mildly amusing. He's no stand-up comedian!
Joe Marler is a Bully hiding behind silly outfits
I don’t think he’s a bully at all. He sometimes tries to wind the opposition up to get his team an advantage but bully is totally the wrong word.
