- For many of our Corpsmembers, the first time they encounter big trees and forests is their first day at a CCC center. For those who come from urban cityscapes, it can be a bit surreal and difficult to adjust. The 40 Acre Conservation League-with its ambitious goal of preserving 10,000 acres of land in the Sierra Nevada-wants under-represented youth to connect and learn about nature much earlier. The #CCCTahoe Center is helping make that dream a reality. Corpsmembers are doing the hard work of making parts of the first 650 acres of land fire safe and the forest healthier. For the Corpsmembers, the why of their work makes this task powerfully personal. #CaliforniaConservationCorps #CCCforestry
