    Casios are my faves! I saw this at Costco, too, and really wanted it. $100 is outta the price range for me, though! My awesome wife got me a new band for my old Casio (which has been going strong for 5 years now! It's awesome!)

      +eveRide ADV zermagherd I did not respernd! I have a Gshock that I've had for about 16 years and it's still going strong :) Granted, the clear case and strap has turned into a gross yellow but I keep telling myself that it's "Vintage". haha!

    About the Coordinate Universal Time abbreviation, according to Wikipedia: "English speakers originally proposed CUT (for "coordinated universal time"), while French speakers proposed TUC (for "temps universel coordonné"). The compromise that emerged was UTC, which conforms to the pattern for the abbreviations of the variants of Universal Time (UT0, UT1, UT2, UT1R, etc.)"

    This is what reply I revived regarding the altimeter : so is not triple sensor. :(
    Thank you very much for your letter. Regarding your question, we can inform you the following:
    The watch has only one sensor for barometer and altimeter. Basis for the altimeter is the current air pressure. The watch estimates altitude based on air pressure. This means that altitude readings for the same location may vary if air pressure changes.
    We recommend that first you set a reference altitude and then you start the altitude measurement.
    You can adjust the reference altitude on 0 meter or the relative altitude (if you know the altitude above Mean Sea Level). Then the watch works perfectly and adjusts its air-pressure-to-altitude conversation calculation accordingly.
    The next day may be a big difference in weather so the readings height will not hold for ever.
    Set the reference altitude again and it should work in the coming hours

      The watch has compass, barometer and temperature, so technically it is still a triple sensor.

    Hi There! I'm contemplating on getting this watch, but I have few queries. I'd predominantly be using it in a concrete Jungle, but I'd take breaks off to Himalayas. I'll be using this as my daily driver.
    1) Could you trust the altimeter and go on for treks? If yes, how often should I calibrate it?
    2) What is the error margin of the thermometer ?
    3) Will it survive drops and daily abuse ? (I will never abuse it like what a G Shock would handle, but normal wear and tear)
    Thanks

0 problemas.
      Lo recomiendo !

    OMG! This model watch is soooooo sexy! I love the complications. Quartz watches are far superior in accuracy to mechanical watches. Quartz is a natural product and so is electricity. The compass is declination adjustable! How good is that? The altimeter reads to a metre! This watch tracks barometric pressure and also tells the time. In my humble opinion, this is one of the finest timepieces ever made. It would be at home in the middle of a firefight in Afghanistan, to a royal banquet dinner followed by a viewing of Cosi Fan Tutte. Such versatility, such form, such perfection! That is the Casio PRG 270 series. Possibly the best watch ever made!

      And factor in the price, it is really worth it. I have been having this watch for 3 years and I have almost forgotten that it exists in my hand. It is very comfortable and requires no maintenance. It is pretty well made too. I have never been conscious of its existence in my wrist and It has faced a lot of trauma but doesn't have a single scratch. I have taken it for trekking, had bath with it in glacial water, exposed it to sea water, extreme temperatures and humidity. This is one of the best watches out there. The only feature that I would love to get is moon-phase, but again, that's just me nitpicking

    No one can ever say Casio does not build good watches, they totally nerd them out and always have. Mine have taken a beating and I have only broken the case on one.

    • @minitwatch
      @minitwatch  8 лет назад

      +William Zoom The first watch that I bought with my own money was a Casio BabyG. It was actually the first purchase on the first credit card I got. That was about 15 years ago. I wasn't into watches back then but I needed one as I was off to Las Vegas the next day. My girlfriend at the time just made 21 and we were headed to party.
      That particular BabyG was clear with blue accents. I still have it 'till this day and it's been through much more than anything else that I have. It's been with me while surfing all around the island (and getting slammed), on many hikes, jogging, running, dirt bike riding in various states (and crashing), has been worn doing giggitygiggity time (lol), and has been on my wrist while performing in various bands in front of literally tens of people!
      The watch has turned quite yellow. It feels like it's vintage. hah! It still works perfectly and is still good for swimming/surfing even though I've changed the battery a few times. Casios are great! They are meant to be worn and worn hard. If a person buys a gshock and never wears it, the resin case might bleed out and fall apart. That happened to one of mine. It was a rare, red gshock from japan. I should have worn it :( They don't like NOT being worn. I am actually going to get another gshock soon :)

      +minitwatch :look into the rangeman for you next g shock. It has all of the same features of the above watch plus atomic into a G-shock. Pretty cool stuff. I think the model is GW 9400.

      +minitwatch I got a 5600 c1 When I was 15 and wore it every day until the case broke when I was into my 30s and I beat it to death working in bars and getting into fights which is when the case broke. It went threw 4 or 5 bands but only 2 battery changes probably because I never used the light. I have a Tough Solar digital with a metal band as my daily wear now that I got off ebay for 20 or 25 dollars that has been exposed to solvents chemicals & oil, washing my hands 15 times a day and it still looks new. I would love to have a Wave ceptor, MR G or MT G but priorities come first.

    • @pibblesnbits
      @pibblesnbits 8 лет назад

      The 5600c had a steel case. I have no idea how you would break the case on that. Do you mean the bezel broke? If so, you can get aftermarket ones on ebay.

    • @williamzoom
      @williamzoom 8 лет назад

      +Pibbles 'n Bits No it was not the bezel, the case split, you could twist it like a pretzel and look inside.
