Having good Stage 2 pokemon is just good for the game. Single-prizers being viable is also huge. I think we're in a really good spot right now compared to previous rotations.
Good but not perfect :( too many brainless one hit decks still in my opinion. And those coin flip item cards that just beat the purpose of the strategic aspect of the game. But huge win for stage 2s, it’s awesome.
Just discovered your channel , watched several videos and had to subscribe! what a breath of fresh air your channel is! A passionate gamer who likes the game as well as the artwork and who takes the time to explain things clearly, not too fast, has fantastic editing too! Can't wait to see more game play. I'm a relatively new player trying to learn to play the game better and most game play videos have no explanations, no zoom in of the cards and no players explaining what they are doing as they are doing it and cards just move around too fast for me to follow. This however was BRILLIANTLY edited and so well done by the 2 players too explaining as they went along. Thank you! Hope you do more such videos. Also love your other videos. A great mix of stuff!
There's something so satisfying about watching Charizard decks, they've always had such cool mechanics. I'm so pumped Pidgeot is back too, that card is going to be good for a long, long time. Incredible production quality as always, amazing content!
I'm new to the channel. Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the talking through each move and your thoughts on what to play next. I recently started getting back into Pokemon TCG and am clueless on all of the new cards & meta. Awesome vid and hope to see more :)
This is a bit different to my own mental take on how to play this charizard. My own build uses Arceus Vstar, Charizard ex, and a 1 1 line of Cinderace VMax
IDK if other channels do the explanation every turn, but when I stumbled upon your video, it made following the game infinitely easier. Watching others play or just talk through things without knowing much about the game makes it impossible to follow. Thanks for making it super accessible.
Seeing the resilience of the gardy deck in game two while still getting the win shows how menacing both these decks are. So glad you created this deck to create an answer for so many dominant decks.
For what it's worth, this is the most fun I've had on your channel. Your videos are always high quality and informative. This one was just a step above the rest.
really cool deck. i try build bunch of charizard deck and one of them like yours, the problem with (arceus vstar + pidgeot ex) is when you facing path to the peak deck, basically u get shut down immediately if they play judge and path to the peak one of my most consistent deck is (arceus vstar with bibarel) engine, you still use arceus vstar to set up your charizard ex but also with bibarel helping you when you get shutdown by enemies path to the peak, with bibarell draw power you can still try to find your stadium to broke enemies path to the peak.
Was able to make the deck, but I went with 1 kindler and two iono over three iono, dropped one artazon for a magma basin, and dropped one Charizard ex for the pgo charizard. But overall the consistency is solid, it's like you said, always sets up turn two
Tricky you are mostly my Favorite ptcg content creator and every Video i saw the Decks Was really great. Now the time is coming and my Favorite pokemon gets finally an own Deck and your Deck ideas really get me every time. Im really excited Now to build that deck. ❤
Love this deck idea. And that Pidgeot ex...It's a nice callout for Pidgeot from FRLG set with Quick Search too! It's really makes me feel like met with good old friend once again!
Cool to see a Terra Pokémon finally doing well. Wish the mechanic were closer to the old Dual type cards where you could make use of a Pokemons base type or terra type like in the game. But dark type Charizard is always cool.
After that 1st game, I'll remember to Inferal Reign 2 energy to radiant Charizard, so it can move from the active. Also, we need a 70 HP Charmander. This deck looks really fun
Wait I'm dumb, instead of a second switch card, just run 2 copies of DTE. You can pay for retreats, panic attack with Arceus and hit with radiant Charizard earlier
The Charizard is actually crazy good, and having Pidgeot searching cards every turn is so broken! I love it and will need to be wary of it in tournaments
Very nicely played matchup! The editor did a very good job with all of the animations! May I ask you what microphones do you use to record these videos? :)
Sorry to ask. What is the meaning of the player has taken the prize card. Im confuse. Does it mean the additional damage bases on the number prize card opponent has? Please advise
First of all, Congrats to you! Amazing Worlds Placement! 2nd: What are your thoughts on a 1-1 bibarell line? Could help out on some nasty lono/path shananigans
MISSPLAY AT 29:24 - CRESSELIA shouldn't have been able to damage the charmander due to Andrew's MANAPHY (aqua veils ability). Just to point out, missplays happen though.
I would have tried my best to knock out the psychic embrace gardi. Just me though. Especially when charizard was already powered up with the pidgeot can get boss' order
I hope I'm learning from this. But it shows you know the meta as it stands. And I've got a lot of experience to gain to even try to touch that kind of understanding of the game. I did see you do riffle shuffle a lot. By doing that, aren't you destroying those sleeves and cards? I'm worried about that if I ever own my own cards, but I'd love to do such a shuffle more often with them. EDIT: I'm thrilled that Gardevoir EX is still as strong as it is. How far out is rotation?
Game one was good, I think the boss play was right but the target was wrong. Knocking out the ex makes a return knockout incredibly difficult with how he spread his energy.
He has 6 energy spread out on his board. If you knock out the Ex he has to get into another Ex get reversal and 3 more energy to get the knockout. Since he only had 3 in the discard. I'm not saying it's impossible but knocking out little Gardy guarantees it by giving him the energy
at 10:43 wouldn’t it be better to search for a boss? (for the garde ex) or is it better to grab iono in order to disrupt while also giving yourself a refreshed hand in case there is a boss ko on the pidgeot?
you know, 9 energy is a lot for a Gardevoir player, sure, but I know a certain little balloon that can hit for 330 with a Bravery Charm, Damage Pump, and 5 energy. That's not even 9 cards!
He gets to move 2 damage counters from each of his Pokémon. He has 2 damage counters on 3 different Pokémon when he used the attack, so 6 damage counters got put on Charmander
It is so consistent thou, You almost always get a second turn Star birth off, and the Pidgeot let you have sustained pressure with candy or boss. Arceus is also a decent attacker, hitting up to 200-230 on turn two make up for Dark charizard's low starting damage.
This is my favorite video I’ve ever edited for your channel!!! I hope everyone likes it 🎉 (especially the silly edits I put into game 1 and game 3 👀)
Bro you're doing amazing work out here
its just amazing!
great edit dude, keep up the good work 💯
Loving your editing style! Please keep it up!
It feels perfect. Enough to add to the game but not overdoing it where it distracts from the game
Having good Stage 2 pokemon is just good for the game. Single-prizers being viable is also huge. I think we're in a really good spot right now compared to previous rotations.
Yep. I get tired of only 2-3 prize metas. Makes the rest of the cards feel like bulk. Stage 2s needed some love and understanding
best format since sum-lot
rare candy era pog
Good but not perfect :( too many brainless one hit decks still in my opinion. And those coin flip item cards that just beat the purpose of the strategic aspect of the game.
But huge win for stage 2s, it’s awesome.
Really adoring the edits for these table top matches as well as the game play. ❤

Not only do I love the decklist itself, thank you for putting it IN THE VIDEO. I find it so helpful, thanks for making such great content

Thanks 😁😁😁
something about pigeot screeching like an eagle when its ability is used got me laughing, keep up the great work on the editing!
The editing is next level! Table top game flowing really nice

THIS! A million times! The talking through and the editing is so great. Hope to see more too!
The quality of these videos is insane! No one does it like tricky gym
Glad you like them!
I love these videos on the channel my brotha , great quality 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.I'm looking forward to trying out this Charizard ex deck out now 🔥🔥🔥
I am so excited to build this deck out and try it myself! Super creative list and unlike anything I was considering for Charizard
Glad you like it!! 😎😎😎
This is a bit different to my own mental take on how to play this charizard. My own build uses Arceus Vstar, Charizard ex, and a 1 1 line of Cinderace VMax

I opened one in my pre-release and I'm so excited to build the deck and try it out!
really excited for the third mechanic of this era like vstars tag teams and break
Seeing how Pidgeot ex holds this deck together really has me thinking that maybe this was the mixing piece for Chien-Pao decks
Seeing the resilience of the gardy deck in game two while still getting the win shows how menacing both these decks are. So glad you created this deck to create an answer for so many dominant decks.
This is such a fantastic video! Seeing two pros play the game and with all these explanations included is super valuable.
Those ivory sleeves are by far my favorite from dragonshield. Such a great color.

Thanks for putting the deck list in the video. It really helped me try it on TCG live. Also can we appreciate how good this deck is.
I’m just getting into the Pokémon tcg from playing mtg, and I’ve been loving this deck.
Really creative build. Great gameplay. Excellent edit.

I hope this deck is real and can become part of the meta. Looks like a fun deck to play
I’ve been loving playing my Charizard EX deck at my local shop. I’m still tinkering with it, but it’s a lot of fun and very satisfying
Was able to make the deck, but I went with 1 kindler and two iono over three iono, dropped one artazon for a magma basin, and dropped one Charizard ex for the pgo charizard. But overall the consistency is solid, it's like you said, always sets up turn two
I was here during upload haha. Love the content Andrew. Have an amazing time in Japan! Also Zard so Hard!

Very nice display a variant of the new deck. Really showcases and what the goals and tactics of this deck! Thanks!

The quailty of this vid is heaps good
This is the first time I’ve seen the new editing and holy shit this is good
Glad you like it!!
💖💖💖
Wow, this Zard do go hard
Charmander picture looking good pose is on point
I love both charizard ex and pidgeot ex but my personal favorite from the set is clefable ex. Its gunna be a spicy addition to gard/psychic decks.
Sick edits, sick Pokemon cards what more could you ask for??

Very nicely played matchup! The editor did a very good job with all of the animations!
May I ask you what microphones do you use to record these videos? :)
I use Shure headset microphones
@@TrickyGym thank you very much!
"you're gonna be dealing 300 damage with just 2 darkness energy" LOLOL I love you man
I MESSED IT UP I KNOW I CANT FIX IT NOW💀💀💀😭😭😭😭
@TrickyGym gotta keep you humble lmaoooo 🤣🤣🤣🙏
Think you could make an Omastar V and fossil drop anorith deck work lol? Love watching your vids, they are fun ideas :)
I love these videos!

Amazing Worlds Placement!

What are your thoughts on a 1-1 bibarell line?
Could help out on some nasty lono/path shananigans
Not going to lie, solid imo. I'll definitely give this a shot tomorrow at my shop.
Is paldean evolved still worth to buy? Or should I wait for this set? Need suggestion
How many basic mew do you have in that deck also you have a deck list ?
MISSPLAY AT 29:24 - CRESSELIA shouldn't have been able to damage the charmander due to Andrew's MANAPHY (aqua veils ability). Just to point out, missplays happen though.
since its damage counters it by passes manaphys ability
@@slothy5713 ahh must have miss read that part thanks
Dude I created a deck list like this a week or 2 ago once I found out what the transitions where
great attack and ability animations!
Love seeing a bunch of new cards
_Pssst_ ... Hey andrew... You should look into arven and lost city for the charizard deck 😈
I would have tried my best to knock out the psychic embrace gardi. Just me though. Especially when charizard was already powered up with the pidgeot can get boss' order
1:22: You mean Fire energy but that's just me being petty lmao
😭😭😭
Charizard EX is definitely cool. But, Pidgeot EX really seems like the best card in the set.

Game one was good, I think the boss play was right but the target was wrong. Knocking out the ex makes a return knockout incredibly difficult with how he spread his energy.
Not true. If I knock out the gardy ex he has reversal and easily returns my charizard. Jesse plays 2 reversal and I know this
He has 6 energy spread out on his board. If you knock out the Ex he has to get into another Ex get reversal and 3 more energy to get the knockout. Since he only had 3 in the discard. I'm not saying it's impossible but knocking out little Gardy guarantees it by giving him the energy
love this video effect very nice !
15:45 Why Boss the Shining Arcana Garde instead of the EX? I heard Reversal energy mentioned, but wouldn't getting rid of the EX there just be better?
I need to force Jesse to miss something and gusting the attacking gardevoir makes it so he might miss the ko
this made the game look fun to play again
at 10:43 wouldn’t it be better to search for a boss? (for the garde ex) or is it better to grab iono in order to disrupt while also giving yourself a refreshed hand in case there is a boss ko on the pidgeot?
oh never mind, it was to attempt to grab another charmander while keeping out of reversal energy range
you know, 9 energy is a lot for a Gardevoir player, sure, but I know a certain little balloon that can hit for 330 with a Bravery Charm, Damage Pump, and 5 energy. That's not even 9 cards!
but what's the decklist for garde ex :(?
Could you do a video on Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX?
Much better graphics then live, beautiful
Can’t wait for my packs to come and build a Zard deck.
Let’s gooo!!!
Doesn’t charizard hit garde for weakness??? Like doesn’t the 180 base mean it hits the ex for 360? It is darkness type now right?
Yeah that’s why it was hitting for massive numbers like 480 damage. It doesn’t hit baby garde for weakness since it’s weak to metal
Where can i find the Gardevoir deck list?
Glad to see that. charizard card is actually good.
fantastic content guys :)
Is there a decklist for that gardivor deck
awesome animations PigChefer
!!!! thank you!
new Chareot deck just dropped
Where’s the deck list I can’t find it?
The build for charizardddddddd!!! I neeeed itttt
There a deck list for the charizard?
kinda wanna see a high risk speed build... Charizard ex with Forettress Ex.
27:49 mew has darkness weakness, it is 360 damage
It’s almost like stage 2’s we’re always supposed to be the best
Why did you spread out your fire energy onto your bench in the first game but in the 2nd game (41:40) did you put two energy onto one Pokemon?
because he evolved into dark charizard short after...
8:31 I am new to this game, why does he deal 60 to charmander here where that requires him to move 3, not 2 damage counters?
He gets to move 2 damage counters from each of his Pokémon. He has 2 damage counters on 3 different Pokémon when he used the attack, so 6 damage counters got put on Charmander
@@vadersnemesis ah it says 2 from EACH, now it makes sense!
What does stage 2 pokemon mean?
comment what you had for lunch to increase the algorithm!
Im gonna play Charizard in a 3k tournament wish me luck 🤞
I think Pidgeot players can get away with omitting Arceus. After all, there was no star birth in ex Ruby and Sapphire and it worked fine.
Even Battle frontier didn't stop people using it in those days too
It is so consistent thou, You almost always get a second turn Star birth off, and the Pidgeot let you have sustained pressure with candy or boss. Arceus is also a decent attacker, hitting up to 200-230 on turn two make up for Dark charizard's low starting damage.
Exactly. Arceus with a choice belt is actually your best turn two attacker available
Feels like FRLG all over again, nice
Finally a good Charzard deck
deck list?
Manaphy doesn't work against Moonglow Reverse?
It does not manaphy prevents damage dealt (like radiant greninja) and cresselia is an effect of an attack
Is there space in gardevoir for pigeot ex?
Unnecessary with all the kirlia and shining arcana gardevoir drawing cards I think
Dang what a nice title
How is dark weak to grass!?
Zard so Hard
Is there a decklist with the charizard ex deck?
End of the vid there is
Great video!
the sound effects haaha
On the first Quick Search of the first game, couldn't you just grab Boss to KO Gardy ex?
