watched every season within a week, cried and laughed, and that usually doesn't happen unless what I'm watching is sincere, well written, and well presented.
I have become tired of silly interviews, games and the tendency to treat the Outlander cast as performing dogs. This interview is a breath of fresh air, allowing Cait and Sam to show themselves as intelligent in their own right and in their interpretation of their characters. Thank goodness for this interviewer and his respect for the actors.

Idk why I haven't discovered this show sooner. Maybe Netflix recently added it. But it's been a good escape for me to watch this amazing show bc my mom died two months ago. It helped me keep going. It's such a beautiful show and so much talent coming together in this creation. The settings and sets are just amazing. Costumes aren't just costumes they look like real authentic clothing from the time. Actors ....all of them....I never once watch the show feeling like I'm watching actors. They are all so good at creating their characters. It's my favorite all time show. Sometimes I feel like I've had another lifetime in Scotland and in past America. Who knows?! Maybe why so many people connect to these shows that depict certain times in history. Whether we have been here other lifetimes or not our ancestors have been and you Wonder if DNA carries memory of past long gone.

I am a writer singer and I am absolutely absorbed in this show. Scotland and all the scenery with the costuming is all very is just beautiful. Clair is so fun to watch and Jamie is so handsome of course. I feel I am there. So I relax and enjoy it all with all the characters. This is my third time to watch. I agree that this is a very good interview that isn't just focused on the sex in the series and books. And the fact that the interviewer can distinguish between the actors he is talking to and the characters that they portray. Plus he seems to be interested and a fan.
Outlander is the best series on tv with superb acting and great artistry. Keep it coming!
The sexiest thing about these two are their intelligent eyes. This is what creates that chemistry we all feel watching them on screen. Oh, and they're fucking gorgeous.
I am sooooo late for this party. Where have I been? I was into GOT. I didn't want to get into another period piece. I took a shot and I thoroughly enjoyed this series, I binged watched on Netflix. It was the best love story. It's a keeper. Gonna watch it again.

Me too! Started in late July due to Netflix. Stayed away due to steamy romance reputation, but this show is so much more than that! (Steamy romance scenes are great, too!)

It's never too late to discover Outlander. I read the first books over 25 years ago and have read them over and over since then. At the time there were no movie or TV avenues that could truly portray the story properly so I'm so very glad that the author, Diana, waited until movie-making modernized enough to tell the story properly.
You'll truly love the books so I recommend them highly.

I've seen this interviewer before, he does an excellent job, he is informed & thinks outside the box to ask the right questions. I'm so tired of the trite airheads w/ the inane & demeaning questions. While Sam & Cait suffer thru those w/ good grace, you can tell they really open up to an intelligent conversation. We are so fortunate to have these two bringing our couple from the books to life, each so talented & thoughtful w/ great insight to the characters they play. Thank you for this interview

I love this show but I hate most of the interviews I see because these two actors get asked a load of inane questions mostly about what's under Sam's kilt and the sex scenes. This is an insightful and intelligent interview with some really thought-provoking questions :D Excellent!
Gigglypeach or they hardly let them talk during an already short interview/focus most of the attention on only one of them. It's frustrating. I'm so glad they finally had a chance to do a proper interview where both of them got thoughtful questions and the chance to speak.

RippedMr i know!! Almost every time i click on an interview i turn it off within a minute or so because they're not asking anything interesting. They were obviously chosen not only for their acting ability but their intelligence and you're right it is insulting! That's the reason why I love both the books and the show, they're intelligent and they don't pander or talk down to the audience, but interviews like that are belittling it.

Finally someone who can intervieuw and also love the questions of the audiance. I love how Sam always looks at Cait to answer first hahaha. Love it that we hear more about what it is like to film everything. I am happy happy Outlander fan today had a big smile on my face the whole intervieuw :)

Outlander has great appeal: The emotional quality shared by Clair and Jamie. The beauty of Scotland. The drama of their times.
This is the best series I have ever seen. The casting is excellent. The acting between Jamie and Clare is so so believable, you absolutely believe they are in love. Read all the books as well xxxx

Ditto. It all starts w/Diana Gabaldon's incredible books (9 Total, counting the prequel, Sassenach). Then, the entire production team: directors, producers, art directors, as well as the actors themselves.

I've read ever book of this series and embraced the Series whole-heartedly. I couldn't imagine how they could bring so much of the series to screen, but I think its been very well done. Despite everything we see, the story is really about Jamie and Claire and their ongoing love story and its captured perfectly.

I’m 3 years late but I binge watch early this year and to top it all I’m already 60 years of age but still I enjoyed the series…what can I say….I think it’s the hopeless romantic in me….hmmm🤔
Wonderful interview. Also, Cait has the most fascinating accent. Jumps around from sounding English to Irish to almost American. It's hard to keep up lol.
Phew! Many of us were very unhappy with the Kathy and Ryan circus yesterday. This was so enjoyable to watch. The interviewer was very knowledgeable in all OL.

She's pretty chatty chatty everywhere, but I've heard her say before she feels really protective of Sam and she is very good at thinking quick. He lets her go first bc he is such a gentleman.
It's lovely to know this. I hate not heard it before but it makes sense. He is kind and shy and I think she just feels more comfortable responding etc.
I don't know. Lately she acts as though she is the sole reason for the show's success. Sam looks worn out. Maybe too many interviews and he just feels numb. Caitriona is not as talented as Sam. I find I only watch the show for the scenes with him or Tobias Menzies. They are the true spine of the story so far.
Really? I think Caitriona is always very modest and genuine and nice. I don't see her as arrogant at all. Both Sam and Cait must have to endure endless interviews and while Sam looks tired a lot, Caitriona always seems to have more energy. I think she's a very talented actress, and attention is often given to Sam because of how he looks. Not that he isn't talented either, it's just that I don't think the focus is on Caitriona... I think the two of them work great together on and off screen.
Lady Guenevere Some times I take issue with people misunderstanding Sam’s SHYNESS for luck of intelligence, and assuming that Caitriona is soo much smarter then him. She definitely is not shy, and has absolutely no problem in expressing her self, she is very assertive; She was also brought up with a lot of siblings, were you are constantly having to assert your self. Sam in contrast , had only one brother, and His Mother. Sam is just as intelligent, talented , and beautiful...inside and out as Cait is. They are EQUALLY IMPORTANT AS ACTORS ....to the success of Outlander🤔😊🤙 .
this show is amazing the books are amazing (only on book 2 lol lot more to go) and these actors are absolutely wonderful . They come off so humble and seem truly talented in their craft !!!! Fantastic interview ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Frank never stopped researching Jamie's where abouts. But he made Claire promise to let go of the past. Frank never did. Frank knew Claire would return to the st9nes before Claire did.
Absolutely LOVE this show! And I love Sam and Caitrona are so comfortable with each other. It carries over in their scenes. Cannot wait for S3! 3 more days!

Best interview I’ve seen of these two. Very refreshing toll see them being asked actual questions and not just about the sex and only one layer of the show. You can tell Sam and cait find it nice to be asked actual questions as well. They seem very comfortable here. Hopefully this guy can interview them again in the future
I'm looking so forward to watching this show again. With the Florida hurricane and everything bad happening, it is good to have some sort of real enjoyment. I've been waiting so long for this show. Thank you all for making it for us to watch. It's amazing!

As an American I can tell this Irish gal Caitrriona Balfe is amazing.
i know this is never going to happen ever lol but these two actors are my pick as beren and luthien for a silmarillion tv series / movie.....either way they are so talented and their performances in outlander really got me hooked

A great interview for a change..enjoyed that Caitriona was able to speak for the most part about her take on her character and what it meant to play Claire in this upcoming season. It's almost like Sam was just there for the ride.. But in retrospect it was nice to hear his take also, and that he is much more than just eye candy.
I think Sam is more a privat person in real live and Cait just love to talk. Also the guy is tired he did a movie between finishing shooting Outlander and now. So I guesse we should give him a break letting Cait talk.
Very true. I saw him in a very recent interview and he was so exhausted it made me feel bad for him. He never said he was tired, of course, but I could see it and just imagine. He had no break after 14 hour days shooting Outlander for several months, and then, with no break at all, the same thing all over again with his new movie and then jet lag. I actually felt bad for him. He always is so gracious and kind and such a sweet guy but I could tell he was exhausted and probably just needed some rest!
I guesse afther this promo he will. it is hard sometimes to plan things for actors and the promos etc. People often do not understand that it is work . He is still young and ambitious so cannt blame him. Also you never know as an actor when your time is up so you need to keep working till a certain amount to pay your bills now and in the future.

Linda--Sam has never been "just eye candy." He's an amazing actor and that's where his appeal radiates from. Unlike him, she appears to be naturally bossy (an observation, not a criticism). He's a good listener and respectful and just lets her have it. It does seem, in the last couple of years, that she brings forth a dynamic that leaves Sam looking like he's just there for the ride.
Great! interview ... Journalist as well as fans should take it as an example to redefine their 'conduct' towards the actors and fandom of the Outlander series.

Sam and. Cait worked so hard long long hours like Roger says I got married 727 times today I get upset when these talk shows don’t recognize how hard everyone worked to pull off this movie it has totally rocked everyone!! I wish Sam and Cait would stop with these interviews the shows ask the dumbest questions !!!! Sam get some rest if that’s possible take time out for Sam that’s an order!!!

About Murtagh... I am very fond of his character but I feel he has a brotherly love towards Claire. I honestly cannot picture those two as a couple. Murtagh is very very charming but the notion of romance between them just feels awkward!

Aileen Schnürsenkel All of these comments about Caitriona answering the questions first and Sam being “beaten to the punch” regarding getting to speak; I would like to point out that Caitriona is an extrovert while Sam really is an introvert. That helps me understand their dynamic better.
