Fennec Shand ordered! ..i knew i wanted this figure. I was going to order from Sideshow, but the fact is, Popcultcha has a 20% off coded deal at the moment, and their global shipping is low (3 times lower than Hong Kong sellers). Over the Xmas period i have ordered a total of 6 Hot Toys figures with Popcultcha. 5 have shipped, and Fennec Shand should ship within 24hrs (maybe the weekend will delay shipping?).
I do love what they did with c3-po but I am waiting for the shiny one to come out. Cap is awesome, the wings 🪽are a work of art. My favourite is moon knight 👍
I’m glad Bespin Luke is getting some love. It needs more weathering, but that’s its only real fault. The body proportions are some of the best I’ve seen on a Hot Toys figure. It’s really well done.
The tailoring is incredibly off, it’s way too tight and it should be looser and baggier on him. The suit does need some weathering but not the weathering that most refer to which is inaccurate to when he arrives to Cloud City. He shouldn’t have the tears that he has when his suit is intact before he gets bested by Vader. There are various outfit details are incredibly off as well. The pockets shouldn’t have been stitched down, they should flair out. The jacket also shouldn’t have been stitched down and instead should’ve been functional just like in the prop. Overall, he looks like he’s wearing a onesie, and that’s just not how it should look. The DX07 Luke also has a more accurate belt buckle in comparison to this new one. The boots are a toss up, I won’t really criticize them as much but imo, they could’ve been designed better as Hot Toys for some reason added a beige lining when they should all be a solid color. It’s the weathering on the boots that gives it color variance. The headsculpt being the same one they used for CGI Mando Luke also deserves some criticism. And the hair sculpt is off, and could’ve been sculpted better. Should’ve used the hair sculpt that was on the original Bespin Luke prototype 2.0 seen at SDCC 2019. Idk, I have it in the collection but as a huge fan of this character design for Luke, this was easily my most disappointing figure of the year.
I completely agree with top five! 6-10, however, I would not have included WB Wonderwomen because it wasn't new! Except for the hair! It was sculpted haired Wonder Woman body and Golden Armored Wonder Woman head sculpture. It is a cheat code for that piece. In addition, this rendition of Luke was lacking In tailoring of custom- badly! I think he doesn't deserve to be on list because that custom and its condition in the film had profound meaning to both the character journey and moment in the film. Hot Toys completely missed that point! They simply did a poor job on this tight fitting, arms length-too small, pristine janitorial suit they gave us. What an incredible misunderstanding of a significant character! For that, I would argue the Bespin Luke did not deserve to be in top 10! But 2 each his own 😄😅
