    As a speaker of Indonesian, I can see (hear) similarity in a few word, but I cannot understand the whole sentence in Tagalog.

    Indonesian is easy to understand and learn, but 80% of Indonesians speak their mother tongue (regional language) for daily conversations... and mother tongue is more difficult to learn than Indonesian itself... and if we have friends from other regions, then we have to understand 10-15% of their mother tongue. so we can understand each other. because usually when someone speaks they will combine their mother tongue with Indonesian

    In conclusion: me as Indonesian I can identify some Tagalog words that has similarity with Bahasa Indonesia in term of pronounciation and spelling but, I can't understand the whole sentence because Tagalog have different sentence structure and grammatical order with Bahasa Indonesia.

    4:47 - Actually, in the past, "news" in Indonesian also pronounced and spelled as "khabar". But then the linguists corrected it as "kabar" (the "h" is disappear).
    FYI, Indonesian language constantly being perfected by our linguists/philologist through a system we called as EYD (Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan) or Improved Spelling or also known as PUEBI (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia) or General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling since 2015. This EYD/PUEBI being updated every 3-5 years or so. Yeah, I'm also surprised and sometimes annoyed. But I'm working as a news editor, so I need to obey the system. Hehehe..

    Dear Ijay....Bahasa Melayu compared to the so called Bahasa Indonesia is like the Canadian Language to the American language, which is English. Thue, English is actually the common language, but the version or variance can be that of USA, UK, NZ, Australians, Canadians, South Africans etc...more similarities than differences...
    By 1972 these countries had agreed to use a common roman spelling system, whereas before that they were using the Dutch system n the Zaaba system modified after the English spelling, albeit much simpler n more systematic.

      Bhs jawanya rada aneh pasti anda bukan solo atau jogja. Kalau solo jogja bhs jawanya runtut. Kalau jawa diawali bhs alus selanjutnya yaa alus kalau ngoko ya selanjutnya ngoko itu kalau jogja dan solo. Kalau alus dicampur ngoko itu masuk dlm bhs jawa gaul atau masuk dlm jawa timuran. Ndelok=ningali
      Ambokno =mbok menawi. dll.

    Yes it is true that Indonesian language and tagalog has many different. Why 56% of your channel pooling choose to react Indonesian vs tagalog ? Its quite tricky to answer 😁 there are so many reasons for it. But i will explain as simple as i can.
    Before this, you already react a video about "how similar indonesian vs malaysia language". Bro..that things has triggered indonesian peoples sentiment about nationality & pride, we strongly dont want to compare to the malayan 😅
    Malayan\melayu language is just one of hundred of our ethnics language. So we do not count it as "similarity"...we own it since thousand years a go. And it is not describe the national language for us. Melayu language is just a small part of indonesian diversity. The origin of melayu language come from one of our province, the Riau province, it is the most pure melayu language till now.
    We do know not only tagalog has similarities but also differentiations with our language, but we indonesian agreed that Philipino peoples shared many similarity in how they live, environment, tradition, their cultures, and the most important things is they owned their identity, national pride & patriotic soul.
    Similarity doesnt have to be the same in language 😁😊
    Sorry for out of content 😅GBU & assalamualaikum 🌟👍🏻

      Malay is also spoken in the whole of Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, South Thailand n Burma, by some cambodians, vietnam n Laos. It's difficult to imagine it came from Sumatra northwards...it is also from north to South. The Malay stock travels all over South East Asia....by land n sea...Malay was a lingua franca for thousands of years.
      Recent documentary evidence shows that Malays even communicated well the middle East n Persia n India eg during the Ottoman empire n even before that.
