    Great video! It takes a big man to share his DIY on RUclips and a great one to share someone else’s. I’m not sure I wouldn’t be Thomas Edisoning that Venturi to the Mrs. as my own ;)
    At the (5:00) it looks like it is doing an amazing job! I’d be interested to see an update when you start to see a difference in the pond’s ecology. I’ve never heard of over-aeration but now I wonder…

      (my other account) The venturi heads are being made by Gideon in all sorts of sizes and he seems to be a really switched on guy as the response to feedback about performance gets turned around into a better performing product very quickly. He is currently working on a larger head for the 2" pipe feeding out around 25000 lph and it will have a solvent 2" fitting so it will be very interesting to see how that performs as the one for the 16000 lph pump is great. If they were made with a standard 2" solvent connection then they would be very popular with koi keepers over here and would negate many of the air pumps used currently.

    That's a lot of bubbles. It's very impressive.

    Just a heads up if you stuff a cotton ball or half a cotton ball in the end of that clear tubing loosely just snug enough that it doesn’t doesn’t pull it down the tubing it will stop that hissing sound and act as a silencer

    Yep. That's interesting. I'm considering a venturi thing, perhaps attached to the air pump. The pond's looking great, Richard. Great video. Interesting product.

    I run waste water treatment plants and I have a job for one of these.
    Cheers Richard

      If you're seeking to increase the dissolved oxygen then it looks like it will do that very well indeed.

      Yes, the flow is reduced somewhat but the amount of bubbles produced is crazy high.

    I was under the impression it was surface agitation rather than the amount of bubbles produced that increased aeration , can anyone educate me on this ?

    • @dadonCCF
      @dadonCCF 2 года назад

      If by surface agitation, you mean something like a fountain, than you’re incorrect. Oxygen doesn’t sink well, it rises to the top and escapes for quickly. Fountains only aerate the top layer of water. At best it sucks some desaturated water from the bottom, but the oxygen saturated water still remains at the top. Fountains are actually very inefficient for aeration. They’re primarily useful for cosmetic purposes, and maybe some mosquito control.

      more bubbles the greater the surface agitation

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  2 месяца назад

      Yes, all venturi operating with a high flow will make noise - the bigger they are the more noise they make.
