Lower Saxony, German name: Niedersachsen, just like Netherlands, german Niederlande, the low is in the meaning of low lands, flat.
Neu Schwanenstein is a 19th century "fun house" of the Bavarian King Ludwig II.
Real castles are like Burg Eltz (that was found on 500 D-Mark bill), Burg Kalb or the Drachenfels opposite the former seat (before reunification) of Government: City of Bonn. All along the Rhein are many well maintained castles of which many are youth hostels nowadays.
Alps are the highest middle European mountain range, a rather well explored and maintained ski resort overall. The highest mountains are in north-western Italiy, South Swiss and Mid south-east France, with the Mount Blanc at ~4700 m towards Germany (north) and Austria (east) the range is more in 2000 to 1500 m
What he missed to metion are what are called the Mittlegebirge - Middle Mountain ranges - as they are in the middle in height (as well as middle of Germany): Harz, Erzgebirge, Eifel - which is also a seismic still active vulcanic area -, Hunsrück, Taunus (the car Ford Taunus was named after that one), Bayerischer Wald, Fichtelgebirge, Schwäbische Alb, Thüringer Wald, Rhön ... among the most notable.
Germany has about 20% obesity, overweight, being in the top 10 of Europe, UK is high AFAIK.
He had a typo: Mehrdeutig not Mehrdrutig
Don't need a Flag to be German, nor to be proud of the nation. Aside the fact that Germans love to complain, and thus the government (and it incl. Flags) is not to be proud of.
Also be proud of us, because we are the cause "Made in XYZ" label has to be on stuff. In the 1820 - 1880's as fledging industrial power German - just like China today - took a lot of products of the UK and copied them, but usually in lower quality. So one got a Hemsworth Steam Engine, for cheap, and expectantly they broke easily - wrost case exploded and killed people - so the Brits said: No name copying (copyright and trademark), and there need be "Made in German" on it.

The island of Neuwerk is supplied with food and goods by ship, but the island only has 30 inhabitants. Every day many tourists come on foot from the mainland for a day trip or an overnight stay. They come with one ebb and leave with the next one or the one after that.

7:30 The video is misleading, because the ALPS are only at the southernmost end of Germany, most of them are in Switzerland, Austria and Italy. "Hilly regions" (Mittelgebirge) start from roughly 1/3rd north of the country and goes to the southernmost parts ... but the northwestern parts of the country is still relatively flat.
You can see this if you drive north-south on the Autobahn / a train.

This was filmed in Ukraine where they created artificial hills for the big battle and the Red Army supplied the masses and MASSES of soldiers needed for it.

I like "Schweinekrustenbraten" (roasted pork) with "Dunkelbiersoße" (dark beer sauce) - it is relatively easy, but I am not sure if you can get all the ingredients over there easily. It just takes some time but is my favorite food. Together with "Knödel" (dumplings) and "Blaukraut" (red cabbage) - I could eat that every second day (and I have to when I cook it, because most of the time I live alone, only my kids are here sometimes :D ).
Either way, I would probably recommend searching on german cooking websites (like e.g. chefkoch with the german domain) and trying to translate the recipe, so it is more authentic than north american websites ;) And yes - I would totally love to see you cook some german dishes - and I am sure, there are a lot which are easier to recreate in your area - I just love my Schweinekrustenbraten ;)
EDIT: WOW WHAT??? Your massive country of Canada has only half of germany's population??? Wow, mind blown, it must be pretty empty outside of the big cities!

Germany has rouchly 85 millions inhabitants as of now. Maby it's more right now, because Germany gave over 1 Million Refugees from Ukraine a new home.
Yes we have no speed limits on maby 50% of the Autobahn, but there are soooo many construction sites, you can barely drive as fast as you like without running into another one. Plus to get a driver license, you have to put in a hell of time and money to get one. Many, many hours of theoretical and physical learning hours plus two serious test, to ensure you how to drive properly on the Autobahn.
Yes Germans like meat, but veganism and vegetarians are rising strong, also more and more people are getting aware of food in general and reducing their meat habbits and switching to better quality of meat from a local butcher, so meat consumtion is falling.
Green energy is a big thing in Germany now, we are able to get 57% of all the Energy we use from renewable ressources.
Tornados aren't a big thing here, they are way smaller with little to no impact.
Yes we have States but they are differently handled than in the US. Federal Law stands above State Law. So a single State can't make laws which would break the German Law.
About the compound words... yes we love our compound words, and we use them alot, but only in a short way of maby two or three words combined, yes you are able to add more and more words, but in reality no one uses such long words, but technicaly it is possible. :D
Most Germans can speak Hochdeutsch (or High German) so most will understand Auf Wiedersehen from North to South, yes we have our local differences, but we are able to understand.
The German passport isn't the most Visa free passport in the world anymore, but we are still in the top 5 with more than 190 countries to visit without gettihng a Visa.
Beethoven was born in the German city of Bonn, which was the capital after WW2 until the reunification with Eastern Germany.. so yes.. he was German. :D
You get a lot of education about WW2 and the Nazis in school to make sure that it will never happen again. Sadly, if you look at Germany right now (primary at the former East Germany)... a lot of people havend learned a thing and the far right is rising scarily. The far right Nazi Party the AfD is rising big these days.
And yes, most Germans don't have National Pride. Seeing a German flag on private ground is awkward and somewhat scary. Germans (my age) where raised in an atmosphere of shame. I'm not ashamed anymore, i wasn't born back then neither my Parents, but my Grandparents fought in the War.
I think, Germany isn't the land of milk and honey anymore RUclips is constantly trying to convince anyone.. we have serious problems in our Country like growing poverty, decreasing GDP, national debt and so on. Is it a good Country to life in.. for sure, am i happy to be here.. hell yes! But it's not all cake and happiness ;)
Btw the beef between Adidas and Puma... the Dassler brothers opened a shoe factory and got in a fight so they split and Adi Dassler opened Adidas (Adi his first name and Das from his last name formed AdiDas) and the other brother formed Puma.

The video is not as fresh as a German bread roll anymore.
1:50 Lower Saxony is Original Saxony. The state of Saxony developed from some Margraviates (as fortified border provinces were called in the early Holy Roman Empire; "Mark" = old german for border (region), margin, rim), mostly settled by Thuringians. The original duchy of Saxony was multiple times divided between heirs (and their heirs), after it was taken from House Welf and given to House Ascania. The Palatinate of Saxony was given in 1179 to the Ludovingians, the rulers of the Landgraviate of Thuringia and Hesse. In 1242 Thuringia and the Palatinate was inherited by Henry III of House Wettin, Margrave of Meißen, while Hesse became its own Landgraviate. His successor as Count Palatinate however was Duke Henri I of Braunschweig of House Welf. After the Ascanian branch of Saxony-Wittenberg went extinct in 1423 Emperor Sigismund (House Luxembourg) gave their duchy and the office of Elector of Saxony to Friedrich I the Belligerent of House Wettin, Margrave of Meißen. Since then House Wettin held the title of Duke of Saxony (there were some other Dukes of Saxony-XY at the same time, mostly of House Ascania, also known as Anhalt, which still customarily split its possessions between male heirs) and original Saxony was rechristened "Lower Saxony".
3:08 That map is a bit misleading. Before Napoleon there were never more than 5 kingdoms in the Holy Roman Empire: The German Kingdom, the Kingdom of Italy (which southern border was with the Papal States; the Kingdom of Sicilia and Naples was never formally part of the Holy Roman Empire), the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Kingdom of Burgundy (also known as Arelat) and for a very short time the Kingdom of Sardinia. Prussia was also never part of the German Kingdom or the Holy Roman Empire; until 1660 it belonged (officially) to Poland. The German Kingdom consisted around the 11th/12th century of 6 to 7 duchies, one landgraviate and multiple margraviates (of which some like Austria became later their own duchies, while the original duchies were split up in smaller realms). Napoleon reorganized the former German kingdom (after Austria had declared itself its own kingdom and empire) into 5 new kingdoms, some "Grand Duchies" and some minor principalities, which survived his demise in 1815, as the German Confederation was formed by the former member states of the German Kingdom. So 4:17 is not correct: Otto von Bismarck did not create the first "proto-German unified state". He created a new federation of 4 kingdoms (the fifth hat been annexed by Prussia after the Prussian-German war of 1866) as well as multiple other states presided by the King of Prussia under the title of a "German Emperor" (not an emperor of Germany). Some of those states kept their own foreign ministries; Bavaria for example had still its own embassy in the USA.

5:48 The Valhalla was built by Bavarian King Ludwig I as a monument of German spirit and as hall of fame honouring laudable and distinguished people in German history (or of German tongue) between 1830 and 1842.
7:29 Germany owns only a very small part of the Alps at the border between Bavaria and Austria. Therefore the Swiss as well as the Austrian Alps are far more spectacular and also higher.
8:15 All a bit exaggerated. There is much agriculture in the northern plains, and farms are generally speaking bigger there, but Bavaria has also some big and wealthy farmlands. Also the northern plains are not as suited for wheat as the South, so the main "Korn" (cereal) cultivated there is rye, while in the southern highlands mostly wheat and some spelt is cultivated at around 400 to 500 m above sea level. Tornadoes can happen (mostly in the middle regions of Germany), but they are far fewer and weaker than those known from the US Tornado alley (even if they are becoming more and fiercer due to climate change).
But 300 kinds of bread is far too low, on the other hand. There are more than 3,000 kinds of bread registered at the German Institute of Bread (founded by the central association of German bakery trade).
10:14 Rouladen are beef, not pork. Sauerbraten is also beef (in most cases. Rhenish Sauerbraten was originally made from old horses and pit ponies, and the meat was marinated for days in wine and spices to get it tender. Swabian Sauerbraten was originally made from old dairy cows, why it also had to be marinated for days. Nowadays most recipes are content with 24 to 48 hours of marinating). At www.allrecipes.com/recipe/221361/traditional-sauerbraten/ and www.daringgourmet.com/authentic-german-sauerbraten/ you can find recipes, but my hint would be to use rather more (dry) red wine and only a little vinegar - it makes a better flavor.
11:30 No wild bears in Germany. Sometimes some migrate over to Bavaria from the Austrian Alps, but only rarely and never for long. However wolves are slowly repopulating the country coming from the East. And the pictured eagle is not an European one, but from Africa. The only "true" eagle in Germany is the Golden eagle, only to be found in the Alps. More widespread is the White-tailed eagle or "sea eagle", who is a "cousin" to true eagles. Even more widespread birds of prey in Germany are the goshawk, the sparrowhawk, the osprey, the buzzard, the red kite and the black kite as well as different kestrel species.

10:48 If you got the right kind of mallet, and know how to produce a proper panade, I say go for it. (Flatten the meat by hammering it with a - preferably wooden - mallet to about twice its original size, put salt, fine ground pepper and then a good amount of flour on the meat - like, rub it in - , then bathe it in… beaten-and-whisked? egg, then put it on another plate where you have spread the fine breadcrumb panade, then fry it in a frying pan in frying oil - e.g. rapeseed oil - until the crust is golden brown.)

This is the greatest catastrophe in Europe since the modern era. The beginning of the modern era is equated in Europe with the discovery of the new world...
