'If Anyone Leaves the Trench - Death Penalty.' Russian POW Confession

  • DISCLAIMER: the POW gave his clear consent for filming and publishing this footage. POWs are protected by the Geneva Convention and treated accordingly in Ukraine.
Oleg was drafted in Russia to the war against Ukraine under the fear of a prison term. Either go to war - or to prison. If someone left the trenches - death penalty would be executed. Oleg appeals to other men in Russia that could be drafted and mobilized: 'Don't go to this war, you would die in a stupid way,' the POW said.

Trust me, if youve been out in the field for any length of time in those conditions youd look just like that. I have pictures of me with platoons, squads, and teams and a lot of the guys in those pictures, including me, are almost unrecognizable. Some of the pictures look like bunches of heavily armed very dirty pirates with modern weapons. I was on a two week long range patrol once in 45+ degrees celsius and we all lost about 10kgs. Some lost more. We had to hook our pants onto our webbing just to keep our pants up. And we didnt wash at all so we were filthy. When w got back in we looked liked we'd just escaped from a very bad prison camp.

There is no case recorded of anyone being tried or going to jail for this. Only the threat of it. If press gangs force them to go to Ukraine, Then yes, do fade into the confusion as best you can & try to surrender.

@@oskarsoskars3365 Ummm. I don't think he toked anything . . . Okay, sorry. I know what you mean. There is a difference between murder & warfare in the Bible. I think it is better to speak legalistically rather than biblically. Someone at war killing someone, does not commit a crime. Even if they fight on the wrong side of the moral issue. Technically shorty putin hasn't declared a war, which make the russians technically (check me on this) marauders.
Realistically we all know it is a war. Fighting a war isn't a crime. A nation can be guilty of creating a war under false pretext which russia has done. But the individual soldier isn't. There is the matter of war crimes which russia has committed by the truck load & many 'average' russian are guilty of.
If you want to discuss the religious aspect, you need to be careful. Someone knowledgeable can rip into your argument pretty quick if you haven't thought it through.

As an outsider, that's always easy to say. If a Russian killed someone in my family, I'd probably spend the rest of my days killing everyone I could get my hands on. The same applies to prisoners of war. I don't give anyone a second chance to kill me after a prisoner swap. Sad but true. Once the limit is crossed, there is no more room for reason. War is not defined, which already shows that it is played without rules. You shouldn't let it get that far in the first place.

Russian Propaganda within Russia must be strong that Putin can continue to force Russians to die for his pointless war of aggression against Ukraine.
Hopefully Ukraine wins soon and Russia falls apart. The world will be a better place once Russia collapses and breaks apart into many smaller countries. I have little hope for that but I hope that those smaller countries can then turn into respectable and civilised democracies
