For all those who mention Switzerland, I must clarify that I only included countries in which the basis of their society and culture is Latin, Belgium counts as Latin because more than half of the country is culturally French, but Switzerland or Luxembourg are much more close to the Germanic world.
More than 60% of Belgium are Dutch-speaking, not French. You shouldnt put Belgium in there as well
The French and Italian parts of Switzerland are highly Germanized culturally. For its part, Wallonia is totally French in every way and differs greatly from Flanders
@@giorgiobuscaglione5393 I don't know how "German" non-German cantons of Switzerland are, but highly doubt that anyone from Switzerland woud agree with this statement.
@@mertkocabas7604 as a French guy, I can tell you that "French" Swiss are very "German" in their way of living, thinking, acting or even working
Wouldn't Malta be culturally Latin then?

"Gringos" ? Now i've seen everything kkkkkkkkkk
I love that people are finally recognizing the existence of Latin europe, also they are using the Term latín América less and less to refer to Hispano-America.
Brazil is a latin country in South America. And it isn't a hispanic country.
So the both Latin America and Latin Europe are correct names.
@@miguelsilvadacostasantos1516 I agree, Haiti Is also a latín American country that isn't Hispánic as well.
As a Colombian, I prefer the name Ibero-America
Yeah Ibero-America si better, Quebec or French Guyana are latinos but neither Hispanics or Brazilians usually take into account that they are latinos too because we don't have too much common things with them, then actually what we call "latino culture" is actually iberoamerican culture

You missed Switzerland dude. 🇨🇭🇨🇭
Remember that parts of Switzerland speak French, Italian and Romansch.
Wasn't Romansch the native Lang of your nation?
@S.C03abut if Switzerland or Luxembourg don't make the cut (despite 3 out of 4 national languages in Switzerland are Romance and in Luxembourg French is more commonly spoken than German and Luxembourgish), why would Belgium given that the majority of the country lives in Flanders and speaks Dutch?
🇨🇭 will never be cool enough to ba a Latin nation 🤷♂️

A moment of silence for the forgotten latin peoples in Britain, Ilirya, Pannonia, etc
I find it quite sad there used to be Latin speakers in Great Britain, but they got either assimilated or wiped out by the Germanic and Celtic inhabitants.
También había en la actual Hungría, parece que hasta el año 1.000, o por ahí.
Pero los magiares arrasaron con ellos.
Le langage Dalmate est disparu au XIX siècle, et c'était un pont entre l'Italien et le Roumain.
And honestly, there used to be an African Romance language apparently in Carthage, modern day Tunisia. It was the longest-lasting one, apparently the Latin-ness was strong there.
It disappeared in the XIIIth century, it seems. It looks like it was closely related to Sardinian.
With how many pockets of Latin-ness got wiped out after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, I'm surprised Romanian has survived and thrived through the centuries.
My love to all Romance peoples in the world.
Well those aren't Latin countries

The Maltese are literally Italians and Sicilians using Italian Words in a Semitic Language. In addition, Italian is by percentage their third language (after the 2 official ones, English and Maltese)
I have been to Malta and they do not feel Italian at all!
Some of them just learn Italian because of the many Italian tourists they get each year or because their country is so close to Italy
@@Ladinia_unida It depends on who you ask... some still feel "connected" to the rest of Italy by Cultural and Linguistic Heritage (Italian was the Common Language of the Knights of Malta from at least 1500 until 1800 and during the English occupation there were attempts to purge Maltese of the abundant Italian-Sicilian lexicon) or by Religious Heritage (due to Catholicism, for those who have Faith in Religion). Furthermore, there are still many Families who carry on Surnames of Italian Origin
@@Trebor-17 yeah some might feel that way but you can also talk about an Italian occupation because the land was never fully Italian as far as I know.
@@Ladinia_unida Malta has a long history of relations with the Italian Peninsula being part of the Italian Geographic Region. Malta has been an integral part of the Kingdom of Sicily since the Normans and in 1530 it was granted in perennial lease to the Knights Hospitaller, who governed it until the Napoleonic Wars. In 1814 the island became a British colony and then moved outside the Italian sphere, although the presence of Italian culture and language remained strong (Italian was the official language until 1934). The Risorgimento also had resonance in Malta, where irredentist organizations also arose such as the party led by Fortunato Mizzi (remembered by the Maltese for his contribution to the Maltese national and European identity) from 1880 to 1905, which had positions close to those of the Risorgimento Exiles and opposed British colonial reforms. On June 7, 1919, British troops shot on the unarmed crowd protesting against the increase in the price of bread following new taxes. This event strengthened the irredentist feelings of the Maltese population and "Sette Giugno" (written in Italian) is still one of Malta's National Holidays today. Therefore Italy as a Modern National State (after 1861) has never occupied or possessed Malta, but has always been like a Big Sister to her.
However I realized now that you are Ladino, so we could have spoken Italian all the time!
@@Trebor-17 well you seem to know a lot more about this topic! Thanks for sharing. I am more interested in recent history, from WW1 onwards, but it is interesting to see how close the countries once were.
Yeah you can but I think I'll reply in English because when it comes to complicated topics my English is far better.
We use Ladin for almost everything in our valleys, and besides that we use mostly German.
You can kind of compare it to Ticino in Switzerland, most of them probably know some German pr French but they mostly speak Italian
