Ren attended a Fred Again concert, and said that when the song Angie ("I've been lost...") was performed, he broke down crying because it resonated so strongly with him.

He's so good at putting the emotion into his voice and performance.
This is for me, the ren that is an artist of a generation. No one is comparable.
This is my all time favorite Ren performance. I love this so much.
Ren's voice is unusual in that his head voice is so full and rich, as you kind of said, it feels like he's singing an octave below where he actually is. Back on 74 is a really good example since he's really up there for most of the piece.

Should do the " spontaneous stream jam" it's just him and an acoustic guitar for about 7 minutes doing an original and covers with different genres

Ren is a beast when he raps, but when he sings? It’s something truly special. The man took 5 EDM songs and gave us a very emotional, acoustic performance. Who else does that? Ren has music in his soul and he pours so much soul into everything he does.
I see others have already mentioned the Back on 74/Message in a Bottle retake which is definitely a good suggestion. Especially since you mentioned Roxanne. I would just like to also recommend Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed and there is soooo much emotion in his singing. It’s also very different from everything else in his catalogue so a great way to see another side of him 🐰🕳️
100% Crutch is a masterpiece imho, doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

The "turn to turn to turn to lion, i eat nightmares for supper" part towards the beginning is always one of my favorite parts. Just the way it sounds and the faces he makes. I could watch him play guitar and sing all day. So much passion for music 😊💜💜 also, its funny you mentioned the song roxanne, the police and sting are a huge inspiration for ren 😊
It's actually Calgary behind him (same as For Joe). He spent about a year and half in Calgary for his medical treatments. He just moved to back to the UK.

@@TociReactsI'd encourage you to look up a compilation a fan made, something along the lines "Ren's Fred again mash up, but it's Fred again" it's basically the same mashup but made with the original songs, to compare side by side, I think it's a must to fully appreciate what Ren did here.

So interesting you mentioned Roxanne because Ren is a big Police/Sting fan. He covered English man in New York with his band The Big Push. He also covered Message in a Bottle on a Retake. I think I saw a comment to react to that retake. He also shouts out Roxanne on his Fisher Rap Retake Losing it! Take your pick you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be watching. Thank you I just subbed.

There is just one more suggestion I’d like to add without which the list of Ren covering The Police/Sting just wouldn’t be complete. This extra suggestion also introduces Sam Thompkins and is a live street performance of them doing a mash up that includes ‘Walking ot Moon’ (lots of other goodies in that one ranging from ‘Earned it’ to ‘Jam Rock’ and ‘No Diggity’).
Main reason to add this one to the list for me is just the overall performance by both artists in it, casually displaying their genius in ways that keep blowing my mind 🤯even after viewing it way too many times! 🫣
You could easily go for a reaction series of Ren playing Sting songs, now that I think of it… 🤔
But then again you could even do a reaction series on Ren songs recorded on that rooftop I mentioned 😀 (not kidding btw, would actually be high quality list of songs to react to incl Murderer, a superb BP Manu Chao cover etc).
I could probably give you a list of Ren material for just about any random topic 😱 (this sounds a bit unhealthy probably, but I suppose that’s just the effect Ren seems to have on a lot of his fans: we totally dive in and are quite proud of how nerdy and geeky it might look 😜).. It's got to be one of my favorite reactions to this song.👏👏👏 I can tell you got natural musicality in you🎶🎶 and so you get we're Ren coming from 👍esp when you said you don't understand how hard it is to do that as a musician, 👌 I love hearing reactions where I can learn a few things from them. Blows my mind with Ren that he can do songs and do another song be totally diff genre and then sometimes he mix genres all in one song with is an easy flow.. Call my Rubik's cube of music. 🤣 I come from the '60s '70s music I haven't seen artist like him in decades. Hopefully his health holds and start to do more, poss play live and when he gets more well-known and the USA market. He just has a heart of gold 💛( Not have to do reaction , but plz watch a small clip when he hit a million subscribers, 😉) and another thing I like about him,even though this song is so deep and rough at the end the way he plays the guitar then sings feels like no I'm going to power through this , I'm going to keep on trying 👍👍and it's positivity at the end like you're going to overcome. When you check out other songs you'll get to see that Is something Ren bring people are relating to his music😉

check out Ren's track Losing it (Fischer rap retake). Really fun lyrics and video over a popular club hit out of Australia. there's a line which is a play on Roxanne. Ren is a fan of Sting. He and the Big Push did a great cover of Englishman in New York. Ren's recent Back on 74/ Message in a Bottle (live retake) blends a soul vibe with channeling Sting. sooo good, and a wonderful example of lots of the things you've been pointing out about why you like his voice so much.

Loved this and love your perspective! Ren’s musicianship sometimes gets overshadowed by his lyrics and rapping skills (which are also incredible!) Here are some more Ren suggestions: Back On 74, Mackay (instrumental dedicated to a friend he lost), Diazepam, Blind Eyed (angry car park attendant version is my favorite). I could go on and on with suggestions-you’re in for a treat with this rabbit hole!

Your reactions to Ren are very perceptive and insightful. You have musical knowledge which you bring to bear to expand the perspectives that most reactors miss. Let the vid run to the end for full effect. The end is fire. Also give your opinions on the setting and set up. That is a big part of this video. The ambiance, lighting, visuals of Calgary tower, are all intentional. This is a designed effect since Ren and his team are professional perfectionists. Nothing is by accident. One take, one camera, recorded live. Not many artists can do this. But Ren does it several times a month, while recovering from brain damage and severe health challenges. His life is art due to commitment, discipline and dedication. You did a better review and reaction than 90% of reactors who pass this off as a nice song. 5 pieces of songs from Fred Again are skillfully spliced to create one whole presentation with strong impact. Good job. New subscriber. More should join your team.

His many years of live busking shine through on most of his tracks. Performing and recording live is his bread & butter and holds no fear for him after years on the streets of Brighton :) Subbed to enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole
PS Did you notice right at the end the way he had to place his hand on his leg to stop it jumping up and down? Been told that's how he keeps time others say nerves which I find hard to believe

Before he released "troubles" he released (i think) 5 or 7 days in a row, a story of his life. And there is a video of when he got 1 Million subs. You will find out he's a very kind and caring person. The renegade fanbase is big and dedicated..

@@TociReacts From what I understand is that Ren taught himself to play various instruments. For Joe and Makay are 2 songs dedicated to friends of his who have passed away. Both songs played on keyboard. On his page @renmakesmusic he recorded his life story, about his illnesses, 6 or 7 days in a row before he released "troubles". And the video from his 1 million subs also gives you an insight that Ren is a very friendly and empathetic person. The Renegade fan base is large and very committed to Ren. You will have a lot of fun and amazement in this rabbit hole. Ren is very versatile and will amaze you every time. Especially because he does and manages almost everything himself... if you delve into him and his story, you will find out for yourself... Greetings from a renegade from the Netherlands..😁

His story telling is on point. The Tales of Jenny and Screech and Money Game 1,2& 3 great. Money game 3 has won him the Best Music video in the UK. Roxanne was a great reference because Ren, as you may have guessed, is a huge Sting/Police fan. Also, perhaps you don't know this, he didn't have formal guitar lessons. He learned to play guitar by watching his favorite guitarists, slowed down. So when you say you hear Sting influences, you are absolutely correct . You are bright little penny aren’t you? 😊🙏😊
