Man if I was Shadow, I would actually be exhilarated and claim “Sonic x Shadow Generations” as my game too. (It DOES have his name in the title though).
To be fair, Shadow did get a spin off game in 2005 and he does have a lot of other games that star him as well, but the most recent time he’s playable in a mainline Sonic game is Sonic Forces (as dlc). But if dlc doesn’t count, then I would say either Sonic Rivals 2 or Sonic 06 (depends if you count the Sonic Rivals duology as mainline games or spin-off games).
Imo, Sonic 06 was his last important game where it had an actual story and expanded upon his character.
Say what you want, but we ain't buying this game to jump around Green Hill as Classic Sonic.
