Is it best for me to turn both dials (sensor and frequency) all the way up? I just need to get rid of cats pooing in my garden.

Lame review, gave no clue as to switch operations, considering there are five very different repelling modes!
If you haven't blown your hearing with over-loud headphones, you may have heard the squeal coming from the unit as soon as you powered it up.
However if you cannot hear it, you can monitor it using an oscilloscope app on your mobile, you can quickly determine the exact frequencies being emitted in each mode.
I can recommend anyone watching this to get one though, the device has proven for me very effective at keeping curious foxes away.
As soon as they trigger the unit, their gone and become reluctant to return.
