You got Russ and Justin on a steal- possibly will only have both of them for one year! Russ will definitely start but I’m all about Fields having a couple trickery type packages!

I know it depends on the defense we are playing but what percentage do you think they are option, designed QB runs or JS passing the ball? On non red zone plays would he only be wanted on 3rd downs?
I would like to see a package for sure. He will need to complete some passes and protect the football for it to work. I also need to be talked out of Fields in the return game. The entire point of the new kickoff rule is to increase safety on the play. It will be as safe as a play from the line of scrimmage. As valuable as any 1st down play outside the red zone. So why not Fields on kickoff?
Any above average QB will be effective with the offense we have,he will be well protected with the line we've built. Which is a great change for both Russ and Justin. Both will be efficiently effective..

Steelers should run a minimum of 30 attempts a game, Fields deserves 5-7 of those. Arthur smiths offense is perfectly paired with the steelers Defense.

Its kinda 50 50 with the #SteelerNation on if they want to give fields touches , my thought is this throught the season i wouldnt but if we got in to the playoff an lost because we didnt throw the kitchen sink at a team in a smart way id feel sick
@@Steelers_DB I understand Derrick but what I was getting at is that there are more accomplished QBs that can throw and read defenses and think on their feet. Not so much with running QBs that have accuracy problems and can't read defenses properly. Fields is a great athlete. I don't know if he will ever be a great QB.
How do these QB run designs apply to RW? Fields will most likely see the field “😂” when RW either struggles or is injured, right? I feel the Steelers best shot in 24’ is to be close to the 05’ team title team. Balanced offense attack during regular season. Strong OLine gets better each week and dominates late. Get hot, make the playoffs and open up RW with play action in playoffs. Healthy, getting hot at the same time and a little luck. I don’t feel Fields is ready for a push like this
At the end you just revealed your sneaky package propaganda trick to install Fields as QB1 and your disregard for the superior passing and decision making of Russ. The Steelers needs Russ as the undisputed QB1 and no distraction at that position.

It won't be that effective with Fields coming off the bench,he need to be in game in order for these plays to be effective..the defense will know what we're doing, if he's coming off the bence.

I think utilizing this OUTSIDE of short yardage and redzone will give defenses a harder time with their packages.
I would love red zone, short yardage, and close out packages for him. Too much of a weapon to leave sitting on the bench.

Yeah man the thing that really excites me is that if this is what he did with rider and mariota, just imagine what he could do with fields.
Id say this is a situational type of thing. It’s not something to live by but in a bind you flip this out and catch the defense off guard.

Fields is a similar player to Lamar Jackson but he lost to Mahomes. I would always take a Mohomes type rather than a runner.
