Another washday video, similar to my speed queen
Hold on to this beaut for as long as you can. I had my AWN 432 for 7 years and it never skipped a beat once. The most rock steady washer I think I've ever owned.
Oh yeah, This machine is not going anywhere!
Good that it has a transmission.
Absolutely!
Very nice. I love that yours doesn’t have the tub lean.
Oh yeah same. A little goes a long way with adjustments to center the tubs.
@@Sharkie626 May I ask what you did to fix this?
@@MatthewJames-st5wv I noticed it would tilt forward just a little when we first got it, so now I have the machine leaning back ever so slightly. That actually made a nice difference.
@@Sharkie626 So you raised the front legs to do this?
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Yes sir!
I love this machine because of all the options! I'm glad your machine has ran trouble free for 6 years, I'm on my 2nd SQ (first being a disgusting TR7) that has problems. I just got through a lid switch fix and a water valve replacement in my TC5. :(
Yeah so far this thing has been great!
TC5 is a heavily cost reduced version of this machine. The true old school SQ washers died when the TR series came out. TC5 has the same general assembly as this washer, with most parts in the same places but the parts themselves are much cheaper made (hence the electronic controls and why you are having problems already) Glad used appliance markets are a thing.
@@Yummgator Yep I agree. The last good SQs were the 2017 models. Like you said the controls are garbage now, they actually come out of the TR3 and TR5. The only good part about it is the drivetrain and wash action, and everything else is cheap. if you look at the schematic it shows connectors that aren't hooked up to anything on the TC5 and says "for lid lock equipped models only" or "auto fill models only" and so on. I'm glad you know that also! :D
I love your videos ❤
Thanks for watching!
hey Sharkie! I love your videos!
Thanks a lot for watching!
You should contact Jergens and see if they want to sponsor you.
Six years now, I think it might be time for a warm rinse option...
Naawww!
Water doesn't get cold in Connecticut hun! Yeah maybe next time you are here, we could possibly look into it.
Have you ever tried out tide plus oxi powder and what's your thoughts on tide plus bleach powder?
I think that's what the box is now by default? Or is it something else?
@@Sharkie626 they have as far as I'm aware 4 different Tide powder's, Original powder which is the default, mountain spring, Tide Plus Oxi and Tide Plus Bleach, the plus bleach powder is the best cleaning tide in the lineup alongside ultra stain release liquid and oxi is regular powder with better cleaning performance compared to regular powder but usually you can add oxi clean to get the same cleaning performance and is relatively affordable and easy to use.
Nice video
Thanks for watching!
My 2016 GE washer lasted 6 years and we replaced it with a newer model.
Speed queen today is probably the closest thing to quality you'll ever get. Don't get me wrong it may have some of the same computerized high efficiency features that these other ones have but the way it agitates and spin drains is much like the older belt drives.
Yeah, it's really the best option today.
@@Sharkie626 question. If you had to Choose some form of modern machine over a speed queen machine and a vintage alternative was not available, what do you think you would buy? I know all machines are crap these days, but is there anything that you think would be tolerable if necessary? Like if you were in a situation of dire circumstance for example if speed queen went out of business, or you needed a machine and for whatever reason any alternative was not available. Just a thought that has crossed my mind as I was watching this video.
I'm surprised you didn't do this on a delicate cycle. Regardless still washes good on heavy duty.
It's too boring. The long pauses are just nothing worth watching.
@@Sharkie626 ok I understand.
Do an update on your Mazda 626 please.
This is so crappy it does clean good but i have the 1990 whirlpools same ones as sharkie. All i can say is my clothes got new life everything keeps looking newer longer so clean. Whirlpool had to destroy the best wash system ever when they got rid of the direct drives bad mistake. Speedqueen would be my second choice tho however the dryers get way to hot. And your clothes get really worn down by that agitator really fast. Not only do they look old after washing but faded and loose shape real quick. Choose speedqueen for a good clean. Choose the 1990 3 speed direct drive whirlpool. If you want excellent clean newer looking wardrobe and phenominal results. Im sorry speedqueen dont come close but still a good washer cheers.
🤡🤡🤡🤡
I don't know that you know that SQ TC5 series is the same thing as this washer washes clothes and so forth?
After this washer breaks, are you getting the tc5 model, because trucker Mississippi reject has a tc5 and it's the best
Hopefully that won't happen for a long time.
Speed queen washers can sure last for a long time, because they are more efficient then whirlpool h.e, because you can choose your water level, and they do what they're supposed to do, and the agitator is gentle and powerful.
I just bought a Speed Queen TC5003 washer and a Speed Queen DC5003 electric dryer to replace a piece of junk Maytag Bravos XL set. The Maytag Bravos XL set does not even hold a candle to the Speed Queen set.
Do you have any tips and tricks for me? This is my 1st Speed Queen set.
I guess just load it properly ,and use it like you would any other normal washer! :)
@@Sharkie626 I can’t use liquid Tide in my washer. It makes too many soap suds. I can’t use liquid Downy in my washer either. It will smutz up my washer.
I picked up some powdered Tide and some white vinegar. I am hoping that they will do good for me without trouble.
I bought my set from Hansbarger Appliances in Greenville Ohio. They took great care of me.
@@robertgwisdala5795 What I've learned is that the plastics used on SQ machines can be stained quite easily. if you use dark dye detergent (especially blue) like Tide, the agitator starts to discolor a bit. same thing happens with the white balance ring if you spill things on it. the holes where softener drains can sometimes get a lot of cyan/turquoise buildup around them, and it is very hard to get off.
What is supposed to be wrong with this?🤔
Nothing as far as I know.
