I really enjoy all your videos. You make things so clear and easy to follow. I will definitely be clicking the affiliate link and making my own fonts. Thank you.
Thanks! I use calligraphr. I do graphics and hand-lettering on a serious level since the start of Photoshop in 1992 (Photoshop 1.5 to be precise), and I always wished to have a decent font maker. But as you said: totally unaffordable at these days. I always missed a good hand-lettering font. So I always sketched words and headlines via handwriting and scanning. But now I'd created 3 essential fonts for my everyday work basis of which one is my own handwriting. The challenge is to make it look like real writing and not a computer generated one. Which means you have to put a real effort to sketch more than one letter for the most used ones like "e", "t", y", etc. So when you start writing, your programmes randomly choose the letters. The more letters you sketch the more unique it looks.
You're welcome! I'll have to take a look at Calligraphr - it at least seems affordable. I know what you mean about changing up letters - I worked for a greeting card company and they would always have us do that manually (if they font didn't have them built in).
@@GDHT Also if you are on the Mac, Glyphs Mini was available on the Mac Store for just a few bucks. Comicraft and many other font houses use it (they used to create typefaces with Fontographer in the old days).
