- After reviewing and testing out so many different style rooftop tents over the past few years, it's time to test out and compare them to these NEW pop up ground tents. This new ground tent is AMAZING! Being able to use the tent and still use the truck separately feels so good! There are defiantly pros and cons for both " ground tents " & " rooftop tents " but, I'm really liking this new ground tent setup! What do you think?

Nice campout by the lake. My wife and I just got back from a week camping by a lake here in Florida. Good times! I agree with the other guy about using a fish gripper or something similar. If you have control of the fish, that never happens. Awesome video! 👍
If you're camping and going to stay in one spot for multiple days, then a ground tent is the way to go. I have a Gazelle T4 as well. It's great! But, if you are moving every day ("overlanding") they are definitely more work to set up and take down. I have used my Gazelle for overlanding, but a RTT is a better choice if you are changing camp every day.
I used a wool blanket on top to hold in the cool or heat try it helps

OUCH!! Never been hooked like that and been fishing over 45 years. Lucky. But those whopper plopper hooks are scary sharp.
Hey I've camped/kayak fished in that exact spot about 4 or 5 years ago. Did most of my fishing just across from the point and back to the left. Good stuff. I was just on maps and sat view last month trying to find it again.
We have the Gazelle T8 and a screen room. Love em both. Deployed and packed up within 5 minutes.

That's a serious setup ya got there, man. All the whistles and bells. I think the worst part about a RTT is having to get down the ladder at 2am to use the restroom lol. Pretty dangerous to do half asleep. I'm gonna stick to the RTT for now but it's good to see the ground tents have come a long ways in set up time.

Need to keep a pair of needle nose in your tackle box, also a leangth of heavy line or cord, to do exactly what you ended up doing. It really sucks to have to do that. But anyone that fishes, either has hooked themselves, or they're going to.
Nice tent, nice area. I'm with you, camping, cold sandwich - don't get any better.
Y'all enjoy your time out there. Carry a spare blanket or tarp, put on top of tent under rainfly to close up vents.

Great video…..had you encountered rain on your way to the campground, how would that have impacted your review of the tent? Is the storage bag waterproof or would you have had a wet tent? What can be done about that as the tent is long when in the storage bag and maynot fit inside vehicle…
My friend, you need a fish gripper. That gripper prevents you from grabbing the fish.
Put a cheap Harbor Freight tarp over the top screen at night to seal off for ac. Just a thought.

I never grab fish without a gripper. I fish lots of saltwater, those fish go crazy. Lol

Hey TJ, brotha, them hooks though!!! Sorry to see that ruin a great fishing moment. Not sure you should be pulling hooks out with braid. Best to cut the treble, and pull the barb through naturally not in reverse. It has happened to me sucks big time. Glad you are okay. Question, if mama can go get first aid stuff, couldn’t she drive you to Urgent care get it removed, cleaned and some anti biotics? Again, sucks and glad you are on the mend. I am mainly a course fishing angler, so we bivvy up in European style bivvies, got Mr. Buddy heaters and all the camp gear. At 60, heavier than I should be and 6’3” tall them bivvies hurt my USMC incurred disabilities. Makes camping not so enjoyable. I may check these out. For now, staying with the ARB Awning and Deluxe Room attachment.
