General category students can also get admission at 80-85 % in some new IIMs. Generally cut offs for engineers are high as candidates are more. But candidates with academic background other than engineering can easily get admission in IIMs at even low percentile. You may check RTI data online available. Getting calls is easy but converting it to get a seat is not that easy. Multiple factors other than Cat score come into play- work ex, diversity, academic scores, interview, gd-extempore, written test etc.

Obviously there is but there are a lot of general category people who are under the impression that they need to score 99-98 to get into IIM. Which is not the case.

Reality is that ki IIM hi top colleges me nahi aate Sibm, Nmims, Xlri, etc bhi hai to cat tough lag rha hai to Snap and Nmat pe focus karo. Comparatively easy hai especially for General Candidate
