That brought back memories, my father in law ( adopted) was a captain of a service ship all over the world and we have had several family boats, moored at Boston,burton waters and Newark . I know those waterway well. I had many hours tuition from a professional and it’s not easy piloting a vessel specifically mooring up.Martyn your a natural . You can go through the glory hole the bridge with stoked coffee shop above. Through stamp end lock and you can get to kirkstead bridge next to the ragged apron,just getting out of burton waters flood gates is tricky for anyone. Fantastic look around the local area. Great video as always 👍🛥️

What a lovely day out. Reminded me of holidays in Greece with my parents who owned and lived on a catamaran for many years. Such great holidays. I also owned and lived on a houseboat for a couple of years. It’s fair to say I love all things boating. The nearest I come to boating/sailing now is having any excuse to use the Thames Clippers😂. Oh nice mooring Martin and well done Tracey. And you got the hang of steering Sharon, nice one. ‘Them beasts’ my Aunt always called ‘Gin Palaces’ 😜. Fab vlog, thank you for a nice day out.

I had a week doing this when I was 20 , damp cold I didn’t like it much , you were definitely speeding Martin 😂 but you did well driving it , you had a lot of weight on it which doesn’t help trying to control it
❤ I live on a narrow boat very different experience I think you would enjoy it there is more room mine is 60ft and yes it's cheaper than paying council tax.You still have things to pay for.
Maria how wonderful, all my life I believed I was meant to live on a narrow boat, but sadly never made it. Did you learn the ropes through family or just made the gigantic step to get on and do it. I watch every narrow boat programme that's going. There seems an enormous amount to learn .It does seem boating families are always ready to lend a hand. Enjoy everyday, I'm sure you do.

Great to see you getting on the water and the snaking (oversteer) is common with new boaters but you soon mastered that. Next step is a few days on the Norfolk broads staying onboard and i can promise you will go back for more as i have for over 50 years. would make great video content too

Fabulous vlog, brought back memories of me and my boyfriend doing this for a week in the Norfolk Broads in 1978, no life jacket and I can’t swim, and my boyfriend made me take the wheel so he could go and pee, I was so nervous, longest pee in history for me that day and the mooring took me a couple of days to get it right, it was a great holiday. 😊
I remember doing this on the northfolk broads many years ago and we had some good and bad experiences lol. We had kids and dogs with us but was still lots of fun for the most part.
