    I was at the game in Seattle and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The body language after the first series which consisted of 4 plays and 7pts for Seattle was deflation and defeat. The offense ran the same 5 plays over and over and over and consisted of check down passes and runs off tackle… it was so predictable and Seattle was literally jumping the passes like they had the playbook.

      @@stereolababy Just what I said. Begnino's great Tannebaum looked at a team that was one game from the SB 2 years in a row and instead of adding a few pieces to get them over the edge, he decides he'll gut the entire offense. He lets the #2 and #3 receivers who were building chemistry with Sanchez (doing the plane celebration...) walk away to sign one year minimum deals and replaces them with a 60 year old Derrick Mason (who lasted about 2 weeks) and Plexico Burress who was sitting in the pen for 3 years. He also let Brad Smith, another cog in the offense, go and meanwhile extends the guy whose attitude history is so bad he was had for a 5th rounder because Pittsburgh just wanted him gone, after he was a SB hero.....and he got the big money and lived up to his reputation.
      Then for the final hoorah he extends a now failing (no surprise) Sanchez and at the same time brings in the Tebow circus that nobody else in the league wanted so they could bring him in on first downs and lose 3 yards all season.
      And here we are, 12 years and counting

      EXACTLY. Sometimes I think this fanbase likes wallowing in misery just so we can keep pressing the "BURN IT ALL DOWN!" button. It feels crappy now because the wound is sore, but this team HAS been steadily improving year after year under Saleh and cutting him now would be lunacy.
      That being said, the stakes need to be upped dramatically next season. Saleh should stay, but the clear expectation for his team needs to be "playoffs, NO exceptions."

I'll give him another yr with a vet QB, but if they don't make the playoffs next yr he's gotta go. This is our window while everyone is cheap.       Nah, that ship has long since sailed. Besides, look at the Jets during Rex's last four years and then with Buffalo. I always considered him better at coaching defense than as HC. This quote from an old article says it all about Rex;
      "Ryan's problem was never with the media, never with the public. It was never in the locker room - where his players loved him. His problem was never in coaching defense. Even this year, when the Jets won just four games, Ryan's defense finished in sixth in the NFL in yards allowed and Top 5 rushing yards allowed.
      Ryan was fired as head coach in large part because of personnel failures around him, and failures by himself and his coaching staff to ever truly develop a quarterback, despite several attempts. It didn't work with Mark Sanchez, whom the Jets traded up to draft in the first round in 2009. With a run-heavy offense and one of the league's best defenses, Sanchez quarterbacked the Jets to two AFC championship games. When the pressure was placed on Sanchez to shoulder the load of the offense, he and the Jets - and therefore Ryan -- failed."
