I fell in love with Chicago, and was tripping out just taking the train from the airport into the loop. I felt like i was living a movie. This intronand the song brought me straight back.
I've never been to Chicago other than the airport. I don't know the culture or the city's history in an intimate way. But I feel a respect for it with this intro and i wish to go and eat at Alinea, sit on the banks of the lake and eat deep dish. Cities are breathing and moving. When you visit a new city, treat it with respect.

It's completely different from the West Coast, the weather, the trees, the way the city is laid out. Even the sky is different, the light and clouds are more northern. Many of the scenes in this opening look like the River North neighborhood which I've been to countless times. Definitely walked directly under those same El tracks.
Have not been in almost 10 years, but from Indianapolis originally. Live in LA now and going back in a month, super excited, it is an amazing city! Edit: It is really freaking cold in the winter, but hey you get used to it.

I listen to XRT all the time while driving around the city...and so miss hearing Lin!! He would be talking so much about the start of another Cub season and how so many great bands are coming to our city this spring and summer!! Miss him greatly.
I could watch these vignettes for hours.. Such a great job bringing the true feel of the city.. And there is more..That legitimately iconic Lin voice kicking it in,,good jam going and all these flickers of my town..classic, beautiful intro.. I once did a road trip from Washington D.C to Chicago and played this song when approaching Chicago. It was late and the city lights were beautiful coming in from the I90 and then Lakeshore Drive. It was a profound moment that will live with me forever. The power of music is incredible.
Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I always dreamt of living and thriving in this amazing city. After graduating from college I managed to make that dream a reality and this show does such an amazing job at reminding me why I fell in love with Chicago in the first place. It is so refreshing to have a show that makes Chicago look authentic after having to listen to the endless "Chicago is dangerous, I would never live there" type of comments my whole life.
i’m so excited for the third season of this show, haven’t been this hype since the releasing of the better call saul seasons real shit. this show is phenomenal and deserves every bit of attention it’s getting and will get. this intro ALONE shows the excellence of this shows story telling and way of conveying ideas and thoughts without using the basic way out of dialogue. such a beautifully written TV show. love this fuckin show bro.
I had just come back a few weeks earlier from a trip in Chicago when I watched the Bear. And watching this intro honestly made me want to get on a plane and go back.
Johnies …. Parky’s …. Pequads …. Gene & Jude’s ….. perfect representation of Chicago comfort foods! Agree with another comment that the Alderman yelling at each other would have been a perfect scene to encapsulate the “windy” politics of this complicated city. It is the best American city - NY is almost an International city. I’m glad they choose landmarks and scenes other than the more consumed Michigan Avenue spots. As beautiful as the downtown is - the neighborhoods and more rugged, raw areas are what make this city incredibly interesting !!!! I could watch this for hours on a Loop! (Long Live The Loop! 97.9!!!!) IYKYK
This is the moment in a good show where you are totally taken off guard by something that comes out of nowhere. This show was already great prior to this episode, then you see this intro and you're floored. On top of that, episode 7 is amazing as well. Just amazing on top of good.
