    This is my summary:
    1) TO: to answer questions like (why are you doing it?)
    - Why are you saving money?: I’m saving money TO buy a house
    - Why are you moving from here?: I’m moving from here TO study english
    2) FOR: to describe the function of something (what is it made for?)
    - These shoes are FOR running
    - The kettle is FOR boing water
    3) TO and FOR for purpose: TO + verb and FOR + noun
    - Let’s go to a library, why?: TO read a physics book
    - Let’s go to a library, why?: FOR a physics book

    One of my favourite usages of FOR is when it means IN SPITE OF: I know you can't abide him and you don't want to invite him to your birthday party, but for all that he is still your uncle.

      To me it's bad to say ...he runs every day for improved health benefits. The correct sentence would be he runs every day to improve or he runs every day for improving his health benefits.
