    This is some really good to know info about fishing glide baits, but the whole time I was watching it, I kept waiting for him to put one of those tribble hooks into his left hand !!!

    It happened more than once to me when At the end of retrieve I start to retrieve super fast to make another cast, And to my surprise a bass attack my lure(a follower I didn't see), And it happened to me not only with glides, It happened to me with Hud 8" and trash fish fat 6" which is both slow retrieve techniques (generally). Thanks for great tip. A+++++++ Bravo

    I’m guilty of killing the bait when followed. Most of my glide fish caught this year were on a faster retrieve. still working on my big bait game. Thank you for all the big bait tips man. 👏🏾 and can you give a brotha a heads up on when them Dream Catchers K9’s drop? Asking for a friend😜

    With a Deps 250 bass will hammer it on a pause and sink, but the big bigs like a Hinkle and Mother, this rings very true. I have noticed if there are multiple fish following they will race to grab it as soon as it starts sinking. I think, for what my two cents is worth, they look really hard at the bigger baits and think about how to eat it so you have to get them to strike before they can analyze it.

    Good to know that I’m fishing my glide baits right with the right mindset like that but there are times when a biggen does follow it and I do freeze up time to time

    Makes sense. Get a reaction strike if they show us they're feeling like chasing a little. Great fish!

    I'm going to do the woo-woo method. (I like to call it that vs. the do or die) I've been pausing to let them eat it.

      Absolutely! I think they just like the profile and action

      I think it’s just instinct over thousands of years. I think the bass know that the shape of trout(and other similar shaped fish) and look of it makes for a much slower swimmer they can catch, plus the glide bait itself is already slow moving in front of bass just how it patterns in the water… I’ve gotten big bites on trout, blueback herring lures, and others where none of those fish live, hundreds of miles away from any trout, hell I caught a bass on a squid soft plastic salt water lure before!!

    I wonder if that will work for Muskie. Those lures look way easier to cast than the rubber.

      I like to fish them all year, I’ve become a super fan of the DRT which I believe you can throw from 50* water and up!

    • @Frostin_Austin
      @Frostin_Austin  2 года назад +1

      I think it’s such an action thing I’m not sure color matters. The bait is sooo violent. If it looks like a baitfish they’ll eat it! My favorite is our exclusive brown trout color and I’ve caught fish where there are no brown trout

    I was fishing a Southern California lake with a 10” savage gear line through trout… my friend asked me a question as I was reeling in. After answering his question I looked back into the water and 2 giant bass ( one around 8-9lbs and the other, no doubt a double digit ) and unfortunately, my bait was at the boat. Needless to say, I seriously considered punching my buddy in the face and throwing him overboard! 🤦🏻‍♂️🎣
