La poesia "Assisi" è dedicata a tutti che amano adorano sognono San Franceso, Santa Chiara e questa città della pace. Sono tedesca, "Assisi" era la mia prima poesia in italiano che avevo scritto poco tempo doppo esser arrivata ad Assisi.
The poem "Assisi" is dedicated to all who love admire (and dream of) St. Francis, St. Clare and this city of peace.
I am German. "Assisi" was my first italian poem which I wrote shortly after I had come to Assisi.

Il cielo
pieno di angeli
la terra
toccata dai santi
l'aria
permeata di nostalgia
le colline
esultano in allegria...
Porziuncola
mistero delle lacrime
San Damiano
rischiarato dai canti
il bosco
santificato dal silenzio
i monaci
benedetti dallo spirito...
Le case
riempite di speranza
nei vicoli
un sospiro di dolcezza
Assisi
sei mare di gioia
sei mare di pace
con San Francesco e Santa Chiara
con tutti i frati e le suore
che pregano per ore ed ore

così ammirato dalla gente

sei esempio per i credenti

antica amata città
non esiste altro luogo
che si possa paragonare
alla tua bellezza ed al tuo amore

touched by saints
the air
permeated with yearning
the hills
exulting joyfully...

The houses

among the alleys
a sigh of sweetness

you are an ocean of joy
you are an ocean of peace
with Saint Francis and Saint Clare
with all the brothers and sisters
who constantly pray

so admired by the people

you are an example for the believers

there is no other place
