    thanks for this video. very instructional. I have a question...... are you using a special light in the room? I thought applying the emulsion needed to be done in a darkroom-like environment..... can you please explain or comment?

      that is a myth, it takes about three to four hours to really ruin a screen, if you think about, some people expose for up to 30 minutes with terrible results and unexposed screen! now, how is coating in regular light going to affect the emulsion? also the emulsion is only light sensitive once it's dry not while it's wet, and that's why I said it's a myth. Great question by the way!

    I love your videos! Have learned so much from them. Can I ask what is your process to wash/ completely remove emulsion and have screens ready for new emulsion?

    Hey boss I am new to this but just wondering why you but emulation on the screens and why you need so many, sorry for the ignorance but I am new to this and I am trying to learn everything cause I am really interested in starting a small little side hustle.

    Also why you out the lights, does it have to do anything with the paint?

    Is there anything that you don’t like about the Ulano Orange? I’m looking for a new emulsion that is photopolymer, high solids, does well in humid environments and is able to work with weaker exposure units. According to their tech specs it seems to have all of those qualities?

      I like this emulsion over all the other emulsion I've used in the past, i did notice that this is a thinner then other emulsions however it works way better, I can expose it in a fraction of the time it took me or it takes to expose a dual cure emulsion and the pin hole headache is greatly minimized!!! honestly i don't have a dislike on this emulsion.
      thank you for watching

      Liberty Graphic Designs Thanks for the information! I was set on this, then read through some forum posts about it not being good for water based which is what I use. The product description says it works with some water based inks, so I'm not sure exactly what to do now. What type of ink do you use with it, and what do you use for exposure?
      Thanks!

      you can used it for water based but you have to use a hardener to extend to life of the emulsion, for water base I use KIWO POLY-PLUS S and a hardener by KIWO Hardener HP. so I mainly use plastisol inks and about 10% water base ink. for exposing my screens I use a single point AMERGRAPH Metal Halide 31x42

    What's the shelf life of the pre mixed emulsion? How sensitive is it to light exposure?

      @LibertyGraphicDesigns  5 лет назад

      I have kept it in my shop for about 8 months and it still works fine honestly I use it a lot so I can not give you an exact shelf life on it I believe the company claims that it will last one year I have not made it that long so I can not say that's true or not, now when it comes to exposing, is very fast I expose my in 45 seconds on a metal heilide exposing unit this is for the ULANO ORANGE now the CCI VPR exposes in ten seconds

    I’ve been watching your videos lately and just came across this one. I also use Ulano Orange but having a tough time with halftones using a tabletop exposure unit with the black light bulbs. What type of exposure unit do you use and, using your method of coating, have you managed to do any halftone work? How long do you typically burn these screens for? I appreciate your help.

      I use a metal hailed exposure unit, I burn my screens with ulano orange for 45 seconds to a minute I do halftones from time to time and I haven't had any trouble with it
