Just getting into rocketry and going for my L1 soon. Your rocket was beautiful and that was a perfect flight. Videos like yours are what inspire and motivate me. Thank you for sharing!
@@michaelbozung1794 Sure did! Got my L2, as well 😀 I'm not sure if RUclips will allow the link to work but here is my L2 flight: ruclips.net/video/ZY4ghxdJapg/видео.htmlsi=Fd1ULEMAgpmErpB-
The launch station has to be about 4,000 to 6,000 in its self. Then the rocket and the motor sizes to get that thing to fly that high. That was awesome though, and like the electronic devise that deploys the parachute at like 500 feet that super cool.
Levels 1, 2, and 3 certs allow you to purchase and fly high powered rockets. The higher the number, the larger the engine. Certification is also required for hybrid rockets. Canada has 4 cert levels. This allows the hobby to self-police and reduces arbitrary uneeded and unwarrented govermental regulation. It also promotes a better education and understanding of the aerodynamics, physics, etc. involved through mentoring. It really is rocket science, and if you're intrested it's within most people's reach.
@@jasongeerer8163 Only advice I've got is start with an Estes Starter kit. You can do a lot of the high power stuff with low power rockets and grow into it from there. Also check with NAR and TRA (US) to see if there's a club near you. It saves a lot of headache later on. Some rocket trackers require a Ham license, FYI. 😁
That depends a lot on the kit (and how much work you have to put in yourself), and the size of the motor/what propellant you loaded the motor with. The altitude-reporting system is a few hundred bucks easy if it's an off-the shelf one, one of the fancy ones that has a base-station that talks to you live costs even more. There's pentaclorate fuel, which costs something like $1,000 a pound... it can get super pricey, yeah
Best thing about big rockets, if you put a sandwich under the launch pad in just the right spot, you'll enjoy a well-earned hot hoagie as she parachutes back to earth.

Did you get your L1!?!

Fred, Glad this was on RUclips so I could see you L3 flight. Nice flight!
Nice video! I love the smile on your face throughout the vid. That says it all. Congrats on the L3!
Wow!! I just got my L1 Cert there last weekend! Going for my L2 next year!!
Is that a model rocketry club or a SAM site? Wow!
@Wesley Vernon I screamed!
Put a guidance system on the rockets, and now it's a SAM/SSM/SRBM site :D

It can be expensive, they have launch stands there many share...
Beautiful rocket. Excellent L3. Perfect launch! Well done...
Well that escalated quickly.
Really nice looking rocket and flight !
This is something you (without a motor in it of course) put on the trailer mount and tow it in a July 4 parade!
Absolutely beautiful. Brilliantly done!!
Great launch, beautiful rocket.
1:43 What's the gas can for? Gas for a generator?
Can I get that launch pad at Hobby Lobby?
This is so wild! I was just there!!
You're not buying that at Hobby Lobby.
what are the components of the fuel? or what is the fuel?
Congrats, great flight!
Fred Taverni -- the benchmark for the highest quality in hobby rocketry.... :)
Should have had a go-pro camera on it
That was 10 years ago they probs didn't have go pros
8:04 what the....?
Noonan!
OOOOooOOuhhhh
Certificationgasm
Got plans for the launch pad?
What is the fuel name
veramente spettacolare complimenti al team!!!! ;)
Is that a scratch build or a kit?
Congrats!
I calculated 2822 m (24 sec to reach apogee) so 9K ft, no?
Very nice. Obviously 3 people were jealous.
It's 37 now
Very cool, but why is the aspect ratio wrong? It was recorded at 4:3, and was rendered afterwards at what looks like 16:9.
So cool! Awesome!
Chris
Whats the level 3 certification for?

@@TaterRaider yep i have used it on weather balloons my ham radio colleagues have launched
Very nice launch! Looked like about $10k of equipment in my uneducated opinion but I suspect it cost even more.

Probably no more than $5000 in material, if there is then it's just extra unnecessary gadgets
L3's can be as cheap as a few hundred dollars. Rocketry is expensive, though.
A great accomplishment, congratulations!
Well done! Congratulations!
Plzz reply my question
Sir please tell me rocket fuel name
It’s a solid rocket motor after you run out you just run out.
have ever gone out with your rocket and say No launch, scrub the mission? like nasa or space-X does 1/2 the time.
I guess u can't complete too much, those launches are like 200 million dollar missions so they wanna make sure everything is perfect
2019?
Really nice good job.
Really sweet
Someone built there own personal nikie surface to air missile.
That ain’t a rocket that’s a predator missle
dude ! did you make this rocket ? or did you buy this ? @rocketman7150

A toxic one too!
thats a rocket!

no
Damn I been doing this wrong the whole time!?!
yeah, the pointy end goes up.
Night launch might be more visually appealing.
Except if you can't see where the chute is coming down ;) These things are meant to be reusable.

Real nice
Hey nice
When you get a little carried away with hobbies!
Well low Earth Orbit is well over 120,000 feet and this rocket reached only 6,381 feet so it is mostly for amusement.
LehighValleyrailfan Productions Space starts around 100,000 meters (approx 300,000 feet). So yes, LEO does start well over 120,000 feet (pun intended)

Stupid and a big waste of money. Unless you have very deep pockets
Not stupid if that's what you like to do. Some people spend a ton of money on high powered cars... or other stuff... to each his own.
