+Messick Farm Equipment Like Wes Said, Just an oversight. I'm a small time cattle farmer in Kentucky and have actually bought a few parts from you guys. If I'd bought a new or used baler I'd be a little miffed if it sat out in the rain with a bale in it!
I like Messicks! They came through with NEW original parts for my 1974 Kubota, when everyone else was pushing worn out stuff removed from a junker.Quick service, too!
Messicks glad you're stepping up. I had decided not to buy parts from y'all anymore. Customer service is everything. Now I'll continue to do business with you again.
That's great Wes. You are right, and all of us involved in agriculture need to thank you for being a "voice" for agriculture out there. I'm glad that Messicks is making this right with you. I'm guessing that the dinner will be worth all the work you and your family put into getting that damn bale out.
Yes, it is very nice of Messicks to step up. I would be willing to bet that Krone heard about the delivery and had a few words with Messicks too. I am one of the people who knows nothing about agriculture even though I had a brief exposure to ranching (mostly throwing bales of hay). However I do enjoy watching your videos!
Good job Messick farm equipment in coming out and cleaning up the dirty baler. That says a lot about the staff at messick's for realizing their mistake and taking corrective action.
Don't mess with Wes. Perhaps they can comp your extended warranty as well. I trust that the Squatch will be in attendance for lunch wearing the latest Messicks promotional couture.
A satisfied customer is better than any other advertisement....ALWAYS send the customer out the door with positive thoughts... Even if you have to send him to your competition..... He will always call you first the next time
Great video Wes, and here's a big ata boy to Messick's. When I was farming I bought a great deal of used equipment from various dealers and I have to say I never got a piece of equipment delivered that was not clean and ready for the field. Sometimes us little guys got to speak up and make the big guys remember that if not for us "little guys" they wouldn't have a business. Thanks for the great vids Wes. Keep them coming.
Okay, as a business owner I'm gonna go out on a limb here. Messicks dropped the ball on this delivery and will now be making up for it. You wanna know what I think? After reading this line in their post here "We frequently step up for MUCH less. .... now, I will say that we would not do it in quite the same way. You gotta wait for part 2 on that." I'm thinking there's going to be more than just a couple of guys coming out here to detail that baler. First - they'll have the computer with them. Second - I'm thinking (and hoping) there will be some mechanics showing up along with the required axle "swap out" and a set of 4 tires (in the size Wes wanted) and they'll be installing those as well. I may be reading their line a lot different than it appears, but that sentence says a lot more than just a couple of wax on/wax off laborers with a back pack blower showing up. Messicks needs to make a pretty bold statement Monday - and larger tires and whatever is needed to accommodate them (sorry if I'm not quite knowledgeable on the rear steering axle requirements) would make a really HUGE statement about how sorry they are with how this whole deal went down. My 2 cents as to how a business owner really should/would attempt to alleviate any bad press out there following the few video's Wes posted here. Fingers crossed for you Wes!!! Good luck and can't wait for your follow up video...
+cuskit the reason he was not able to get the bigger tires is because there was none available in the that tire size so he would have to special order and then get in line for his to be made which would be a few years from now. he cant wait that long, the other bailer just could not take the abuse of mulch hay
+imchris5000 I understood that the front axle on the baler steers (i.e. is not fixed), which limits the tire size to smaller than it would otherwise be. He had mentioned this in another video. With the larger tires installed, the front and rear tires come into contact in a turn.
+cuskit That is a lot. I could see the computer making an appearance. It should be relatively cheap and easy to install. I do think the chamber where the rust has occurred needs to be cleaned up, primed and repainted to prevent corrosion and to permit easier bale movement (not bowel movement). Mechanics with a new axle, I am not convinced. Now I am no farmer but it seems to me that the steering axle has benefits of reducing tire wear and making turns a bit easier. Maybe it's better just to leave that as is, no?
+imchris5000 I did not say give him a new tractor. Just do whatever modification needed to the steering axle to enable the use of the larger tires. That's all I meant.
"Lack of consideration" was a good term for Messicks and "stepping up to the plate" when you pointed out their error is also a good phrase!! I like you have bought new/used cars, etc. and most often they have been delivered thoroughly clean and with a tank of gas. You didn't get that kind of service and I''m glad they realized their mistake and realized what a 'voice' you have with farmers in your area and farmers and the rest of us alike.. Looking forward to the cleanup video and the fellowship with some of the Messicks' guys!!
I'm glad to hear that Messicks are going to step up to the plate and clean up the baler. i come from a UK farming back ground and i find it interesting to see how american farms run in comparison fab vid and looking forward to see the next one
That's definitely nice of Messick's to do that. Hopefully this becomes standard operating procedure for them in the future so they don't have to make good on things like this. That is A LOT OF MONEY. They need to hire a lot boy who cares about the product going out looking 100%. If not, the salesperson should be the one to clean the darn thing up. Good call Messick's!
There not here in Tx but I do buy parts from there's only a few guys I deal with but the ones I do are great. I like they keep records of all my equipment so they know what models I have. So when I can they know what I'm talking about needing. JD doesn't I do wish my JD dealer would get there derive better like Messicks....... Your a great man Wes for letting everyone know there making it right. Your a true American with values, something this country is lacking these days. We are starting to plant sorghum already here for hay in Texas.
That is quite honorable of YOU Wes, I think it's also honorable of Messicks also to step up to the plate!!!! Lots of dealers would have just flipped you and others in different categories and tried to screw someone else!!! My respects to YOU and Messicks!!! Hope this makes for a Good relationship down the road!!!!
I am glad to see this happen. Despite me living in Michigan I do buy from Messicks as well for kubota parts via the internet. I am glad you guys are finally seeing that this guy can be your best salesman.
Customer service is huge!! The way your business treats one individual can have a huge impact from word of mouth so good for them stepping up to the plate
Good on them for making it right and you saying so. Let this be a lesson to all that if you just accept stuff, nothing will change. Years ago someone came and stole the lightning rod spires and glass balls off our home farm's barns when my grandmother was alive. They just ripped the upright rods off and damaged everything. She contacted her insurance agent and they refused to pay as they said it was personal property and she would take them with her if she moved. WHAT? She had no claims in 35 years of dealing with them. One call to the ombudsman office and insurance agent called her within hours to tell her to get an estimate and they would pay.
People are still doing good because they should. Nice to see. Problem is the baler shouldnt have been delivered that way to begin with. Better late then never.
Good for them Wes. I for one am not a farmer but I grew up on a farm in pa and I like watching your videos because it reminds me of when I worked with my dad on the farm. I am now doing different things and I don't have an interest in getting back in to farming but it still is fun to watch. It's nice to see a company stand up to their mistakes. I am in the same boat I expect what I buy to work and be services and cleaned for what I am paying for.
I'm glad messicks are putting things right, a ex demo machine to me equals slight wear marks to paint in the most used areas in this case the bale chamber and a very small amount of dirt in these areas, not however a machine that was thilthy inside with a rotten quarter bale. Wes was justifiably upset and I'm pleased to see that messicks concour with his thoughts.
Good to hear that. I was in business for 40 years I always told my men you can do a great job on customers project but if you leave a mess its all for naught. This is a complete example. I know it will turn out better than you expect. God Bless
Outstanding! Like everything else in business, when things start growing larger the head and the body don't always interact to the benefit of the whole. I spent 35 years at Dresser-Rand. Watched them shoot themselves in the foot often. Unlike Messicks, they didn't seem to learn about taking care of customers.
Businesses with good customer relations thrive... no product or service can always be 100% all the time because of the human involvement. We all need to have pride in what we do... but never let that pride blind us to our errors. Never let perfect be the enemy of good. Sometimes we all get to eat our own slice of humble pie.
wow that is amazing glad they want to make it right thinking the head guys got wind of it and decided that was not the way used equipment should be looking when sold bearing a bought from messicks decal
I've only bought parts from them but their service has been top notch and helpful above and beyond. Maybe they'll take care of what rust you had and spray a little paint.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease, you just happen to have a few thousand. Glad to see Messicks take the proactive approach and do the right thing for you. BTW, I'm available Monday if you need a lunch guest.
thats good to hear, and i am certain your videos regarding the condition of the bailer is the reason why. you didnt buy a 1500 dollar used car off some shady lot,you bought a investment in your business.
Good job Messicks , I was at Hoober Inc the other day and there were farmers there saying how you delivered Wes a new dirty baler and even though it was a demonstrator it still had a Bale in the chamber all winter while sitting outside. Customer service and respect #1 not #2
that's why you deal with them its good to know that they step up when a customer is less then satisfied not all company's are willing to do that today good to know
Good job by Messicks to step up to the plate. You are right to say that most of the time farmers don't have a voice. RUclips gives you that. There are some folks out there that don't have a nice thing to say about farmers. Yet in true hypocritical form, will go to the store and buy a gallon of milk and not even consider where it came from. What's for lunch Monday, are we all invited? lol. Once again, kudos to Messicks for stepping up.
Well done Messicks. Weather its brand new, Second hand, or a demonstrator, it should be delivered to the customer just as Wes delivered his secondhand Baler to you. Maybe spend a little less on Christmas lights and deliver better service to those that pay your wages.
+AussieMusicRocks RIGHT ! Wes went to a lot of trouble to give Messicks a clean trade that was in good working order. He has every right to expect the same in return. I would have been deeply disappointed to be expecting a NEW baler and then receive something like that. For all practical purposes, it's a USED baler that wasn't taken care of.
$170k is a hell of a lotta money to spend on a piece of equipment and when it turns up looking second hand its a bitter pill to swallow, regardless of what the equipment is, new or second hand, it should be in the best condition it can be in and its good to know Messicks have now realised that.
There is a disconnection between big dealership higharcy and their customers. Yes they worry about the bottom line and sometimes forget about their customers. Good too see they are making up from their shortfalls. The salesperson should have never let that happen, I am a salesperson at a JD dealership and I know I would never deliver a new price of equipment like that! Love your vids keep em coming!
I hope you have many, many successful and happy hours with your new baler, and it is not jinxed. Nice to see Messick's stepping up to the plate- at least they are not tone deft..
Wes I'm betting they're not stepping up by choice but because Krone has them in a painful hammer lock. It is a shame to see America doing such poor work. My first job (age 10) paperboy and all my customers knew where I lived and phone number. Second job in early `71was at Mickey D's and we would do ANYTHING to keep a customer from leaving unhappy; sometimes this involved water boarding in the basement. I bought a brand new car just out of boot camp in `73 (Vega; forgive me for I knew not what I had done) & blew a head gasket the first night; I should have canceled the deal and taken back my German made Opel. I've seen your videos and you do it right or kick yourself in the assss for not and you stepped forward on the Krone tire debacle. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL Change their decal to Me Sick
I have purchased parts from Messicks and always been happy with their service. Nice of them for taking care of your deal without a request! May I stop for dinner too? ;>)
Glad to see that Messicks have owned up to a little laxity on their part. I am sure Wes will be pleased to have the bailer cleaned. Maybe this video series will improve their customer service so that other customers will gain from it. I used to work for a JD dealer in the UK and used or demo machinery would never go out with the apparent lack of a service or cleanup as this bailer did. As you say Wes "the little man does have a voice" regards from the UK
+Jeff Stoops That's an excellent bet because that's what happened exactly, according to an anonymous source. That's the reason for the delay in making amends. It had to flow down hill from Krone. There is something else that flows down hill...
+Messick Farm Equipment I have worked in a few dealerships, I know the hush hush policy's that go on and gag/silence orders guys are made to sign when they leave round here. Maybe it is you guys but you wouldn't admit if Krone or any other manufacturer you sell for did tell you to smarten up would you L.O.L!. I will just add how ever it's happened something is being done. Thanks for helping Wes get what he deserved in the first place.
+Messick Farm Equipment If you knew they would not be anonymous. End result is Your righting a wrong. Along with the sponge could you bring some painting material? That would be great, thanks.
Hey Wes didn't I tell ya the squeaky wheel gets the grease!!! I am glad for ya and you're right they are making an effort to make up for maybe less than acceptable delivery on an expensive piece of equipment.
Im glad Messicks is stepping up. The bail left in the chamber is what would have broken the camels back for me. All they had to do was power wash the thing and pull the bail out...
to bad they stepped up to the plate late it still is a reflection of who they are as abussiness, to many businesses I deal with as a farmer DO NOT respect the amount of time and hardship it takes some of us farmers to pay for their over priced equipment! it's good to remind them who they are accually working for!
I have a small company (helping out busy farmers) and customer contact / customer service is as important as the amount of money on the bottom line at the end of the year. Cause there are more guys doin' my kind of work.
really good response from messicks, well done. oh and loneleyfarmer? could you make a video containing all of your tractors summed up? that'd be awesome to see.. greetings from the netherlands
I have bought parts from messicks on the internet never had any problem quick shipping parts are always right they got the best diagrams on machinery you can find, so I thank they are first rate company.
+Joe Tiller Me too, I was kind of disappointed that a machine would be delivered (or even parked that way) but glad to see they are making it right. I've never bought anything but parts from them, but I've always been happy with their internet sales.
It's good to see that they are willing to come out and make it right. I know there are plenty of folks below that say if it weren't for some of the other vids, this wouldn't have happened. Maybe, maybe not. We're all outsiders looking in on this. Shit happens, doesn't mean it's right or wrong, but the face value is worth way more to Messicks to clean the big, off green machine up, than to let Wes's unintentional (or maybe not, again were outsiders looking in) voice negatively effecting them. Thumbs up to Messicks, wish some of the dealers in my area were better at customer service.
In my humble opinion, Customer service is not what it used to be. It doesn't matter if it's a $20 shovel or a $170K bailer, they should not have delivered it in that condition and you should not have to jump though all the hoops to get treated fairly. I'm glad to see the dealer is trying to make up for it but it seems a little late. You have already removed the rotten bale and repaired a few other things. That machine should have been delivered ready to go to the field for work not to the shop for cleaning and repair.
AT LEAST YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT FOR FARMERS IF SOME PEOPLE DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU LET THEM DO WHAT YOU AND YOUR BOYS AND FATHER DO THANKS FROM WV
We're headed out Monday morning! Hoping to give a proper, meaningful apology to Mr Pandy for dropping off that hogged up baler.
+Messick Farm Equipment Like Wes Said, Just an oversight. I'm a small time cattle farmer in Kentucky and have actually bought a few parts from you guys. If I'd bought a new or used baler I'd be a little miffed if it sat out in the rain with a bale in it!
+Messick Farm Equipment Way to go guys!
+Messick Farm Equipment good for u guys
+Messick Farm Equipment i bet you if Wes DIDNT make videos you guys wouldnt give a f*ck
Good for u guys
I like Messicks! They came through with NEW original parts for my 1974 Kubota, when everyone else was pushing worn out stuff removed from a junker.Quick service, too!
When you video things and you get a lot of views, people will change things quick. Good for them for stepping up to the plate.
Messicks glad you're stepping up. I had decided not to buy parts from y'all anymore. Customer service is everything. Now I'll continue to do business with you again.
That's great Wes. I've bought a lot of equipment over the years and it's always been cleaned up when it's been delivered. Good for Messicks!
That's great Wes. You are right, and all of us involved in agriculture need to thank you for being a "voice" for agriculture out there. I'm glad that Messicks is making this right with you. Good job Messick farm equipment in coming out and cleaning up the dirty baler. That says a lot about the staff at messick's for realizing their mistake and taking corrective action.
Great! Now Tim will have a handy video to show him the step by step procedure for cleaning the baler.....right Tim??
Don't mess with Wes. Perhaps they can comp your extended warranty as well. I trust that the Squatch will be in attendance for lunch wearing the latest Messicks promotional couture.
Customer service is a dying art nowadays . Kudos to Messicks for doing the right thing. Says a lot for their respect for the customer.👍
A satisfied customer is better than any other advertisement....ALWAYS send the customer out the door with positive thoughts... Even if you have to send him to your competition..... He will always call you first the next time

+cuskit Should do all you said...........and More. Messicks Screwed up Big time.
+cuskit the reason he was not able to get the bigger tires is because there was none available in the that tire size so he would have to special order and then get in line for his to be made which would be a few years from now. he cant wait that long, the other bailer just could not take the abuse of mulch hay

great ! I totally clean my balers at the end of season. A bale left in a baler is probably the worst thing one could do as far as corrosion .
Good deal! I have fought with BMW motorcycles over some issues. Having a YT channel does have it's rewards!
That is quite honorable of YOU Wes, I think it's also honorable of Messicks also to step up to the plate!!!! Lots of dealers would have just flipped you and others in different categories and tried to screw someone else!!! My respects to YOU and Messicks!!! Nice move from Messicks, Wes they gone clean the Krone bailer, happy ending 👌✌👍
I am glad to see this happen. Despite me living in Michigan I do buy from Messicks as well for kubota parts via the internet. I am glad you guys are finally seeing that this guy can be your best salesman.

wow that is amazing glad they want to make it right thinking the head guys got wind of it and decided that was not the way used equipment should be looking when sold bearing a bought from messicks decal
WoW I wonder if someone without your reach "RUclips" would get the same response??
One would only hope so!!
I'm glad there making it right.
I've only bought parts from them but their service has been top notch and helpful above and beyond. Maybe they'll take care of what rust you had and spray a little paint.
Bring some paint ...that rust inside the bail chamber want wash off !
thumbs up to messick's for stepping up to the plate.. three cheers for messick's..
Glad they're stepping up now. I hope this helps other customers without big RUclips channels also.
glad to see management make it right.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease, you just happen to have a few thousand. Glad to see Messicks take the proactive approach and do the right thing for you.
BTW, I'm available Monday if you need a lunch guest.
+who You took the words out of mouth or off my keyboard. At the price of the baler you should expect it to come to you clean.
+Ron Rich you are correct thanks Ron.
Well done Messicks, satisfaction on both sides.
thats good to hear, and i am certain your videos regarding the condition of the bailer is the reason why. you didnt buy a 1500 dollar used car off some shady lot,you bought a investment in your business.

Great video Wes they should do it to all the balers they sell to farmers how ever they come if I spend that much money I want it tip top when I get it
I hope you have many, many successful and happy hours with your
new baler, and it is not jinxed.
Nice to see Messick's stepping up to the plate- at least they are not

hope ill be ranching/farming til im old and cant do it anymore. The fire burns in my soul with the passion for raising livestock and growing crops
Great, Wes. The squeaky wheel gets the grease
wonder if they are gonna go as far as touching up those chain marks from when delivery man didng us the factory tie downs
+Karsten Jackson (RollTideMan16) and fix the dint
if you end up needing a part from Europe I wonder how quickly they'll get it across the pond. Kudos to you.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Change their decal to Me Sick
Glad to hear Messicks is stepping up to the plate. You're both handling an awkward situation well. I hope the bailer serves you well for a long time.
As you say Wes "the little man does have a voice" regards from the UK
like Daddy used to always say..."the Squeaky Wheel..always gets the grease"...nice job Squeak!
Glad to see their stepping up.
Good story to start the day.
A bottle of Scotch ( Single Malt) says Krone saw it and were NOT happy. LOL
+Jeff Stoops That's an excellent bet because that's what happened exactly, according to an anonymous source. That's the reason for the delay in making amends. It had to flow down hill from Krone. There is something else that flows down hill...
+jim dandy
I'm not sure who your anonymous source maybe, but take it from the guy who will be holding the sponge that this is all us.
Good deal! The power of media!
Hey Wes didn't I tell ya the squeaky wheel gets the grease!!! I am glad for ya and you're right they are making an effort to make up for maybe less than acceptable delivery on an expensive piece of equipment.
You even have me a mechanic who watches .
Social media is great. Having a voice is worth a lot.
Good for you Wes you deserve the service and glad the Dealer stepping u p and doing the right thing
stepping up after you've made a mistake is always commendable. something that seems to be dieing off in this country. happy for you Wes !!!
Thumbs up for Messicks
Customer service is everything when satisfying the needs of hard working, family farms.
We just got our new Vermeer round baler delivered this week. We don't wait until hay season to make purchases either. Plan ahead.
Well said Wes and way to go Messicks.
Power to the farmer well said !!!!!!!!!!!
At the end of the day, it's wiser and cheaper to do it right the first time, rather than having to apologize for screwing the pooch so to speak.
taking bets on the lid of that toolbox on the pick up getting lunched pretty quick
The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
Mr. Pandy you are a honorable man.
Thumbs up to Messicks, wish some of the dealers in my area were better at customer service.
u r totally correct in your analysis of any customer service. this is the best use of utube. we r all consumers of something every day.
Glad they are trying to make up for delivering a filthy machine!
AT LEAST YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT FOR FARMERS IF SOME PEOPLE DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU LET THEM DO WHAT YOU AND YOUR BOYS AND FATHER DO THANKS FROM WV
