Even those the bushings need to be change but the major rattling sounds are come from the control arm. Please review my videos on control arms. Thank you.

Great video. Will it be the same process for a 2006 toyota Matrix? Im gonna need to replace the bushings

      Thanks for the kind word.😃
The process and parts should be the same because they are sister's car except Matrix is liftback. However, in my case, the bushing is not the major part causing the noise, it is the control arms are bad (please see under my videos for the left and right control arm replacement). If your bushing is not loose, that may not be the main issue unless you for sure it is the bushing because on my 2009 Corolla's replaced old bushing, the condition still "good". My rattle noise is mainly caused by the control arms. (yes, about time too, for a 15 years car and with 200k miles)
Please check out my other video on this car suspension replacement.
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment.
Notes: that clunking noise drive me crazy and I have almost changed most part related to suspension which may create noise. Detecting where the noise come from is a very complicated process.

@diycheapdaddy2113 Understood. Thanks for the quick response! A mechanic told me the sway bar bushings are "gone" which can cause the bumper on the left side to flap around. It's been a long time now. Do you think he meant the front or rear sway bar bushings?

@@brazyuniverse4221 If mechanic say sway bar bushing and this is what this video described; however, when I try to detect the noise, I also changed the sway bar link which are actually bad because if I remembered correctly, the rubber boot on the sway bar link is crack and not much grease inside and those link need to be replaced anyway. You can do a test by shaking the sway bar link and it should be tight. Changing the sway bar bushing by shop should not be that bad since they can raise the car up. For the bushing (this video), bushing about $15-$20 piece even OEM and holding it by only 2-4 nuts by a bracket. It should be a 15-20 minutes job for the shop.
The control arms are expensive, dealers want almost $2k for it (Please check out my video under sway bar link, control arms, struts and front shocks) Thanks for watching my video.

No. After I removed the sway Bar Bushings, those bushing are in near perfect condition. The noises actually came from the control arms. First it was the passenger side then few months later it was the driver side. When one goes bad, the other one is not far behind.
I changed both control arms and it drives like a brand new car since I changed almost everything on the suspension (shocks, swig bar link, bushings...) 😁 The link of my 2 control arms videos are as follows:
