This anime is amazing and the ending is the embodiment of the saying, "A man who lost everything is the most dangerous of all, for he has nothing left to lose, and nothing holding him back."

What the people in the anime didnt realize was that the MC wasnt weak. He followed the girls instructions, keep himself safe, dont break the swords, protect her. Basically limiting himself. They did stupid by removing his limiter.
Plus he got a good deal stronger over the journey. He was still incredible even when he started, but after all the travel and battles he'd been in, there was pretty much no way to stop him. The guy with the final swords came closest but still failed in the end
@@DracoInduperator if I'm not mistaken, his sister was the only one who was explicitly said to be his match if not outright beat him but was limited by her sickness.
Answering just in time btw, But the fact they fight at first with right owners of the swords that obtained them because they were the strongest vs random dudes that are just the most loyal to shogun and cant fight too well. It was bound to happend. Thats also the reason why only last guy with pistols put on a fight as he was also right owner

god i remember this anime when you realize shichika was holding back the whole anime, and this amv shows it well.
And it was done/written masterfully as well. Cause he wasn’t really holding back, but just fighting under a strict handicap, which you never realize until this because of how he is genuinely trying just under a handicap. Although to be fair to his previous opponents, these guys were complete weaklings in comparison, but the fights definitely would have been won much easier if he had been allowed to destroy the weapons, which his whole fighting style is centered around
@@Charley-ju6yg I won't say they were weaklings. It's just the difference between those who mastered the weapon, and those who just hold the weapon.
Yes, handicap is real and he was always in tight spot due to not allowing destroy the weapon, but also he fought agaist those, who mastered the weapon, who spend much time with it, undertood it... while those just recieved it, for those it was just a tool, not soul. It's showing pretty good in the fight with gunman -he is also a master and it was not an easy fight.
He gained emotions just to feel all this pain. That is.... a sad way to gain power(as he became the completed deviant blade though this experience).

Do not get mislead by the unusual artstyle, this is a damn good anime. One of the biggest positive surprise for me (the other was the Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo)

Artstyle is awesome I like their unique eyecolour, uniform, hairstyle for each character in anime except for enemy characterstyle
the way I see it is a combination of old school drawing colors am all but with a nicely touch of today's anime!! very difficult to put it off but yeah it is a very sweet art to see!

I remember watching this and I was so mad everyone kept taling about Bakemonogatari which aired half a year earlier or so and is much more popular to this day. That was about the time when everyone went crazy about Bakemonogatari and I just though it was "ok" and couldn't really get why everyone was so hyped. Katanagatari is a wonderfully done anime from start to finish with the strongest finale I've ever seen in any anime and scored a lot higher with me than Bakemonogatari did. I know the episodes are long, 50 minutes is a lot, but the final episode by itself is worth going through the entire series. Not that the rest of the anime is bad by any means, it's great actually, it's just the finale is that outstanding.
It took me a year or so to finally convince a friend of mine to watch Katanagatari and while he was going through the episodes, he was like: "Yeah, it's great, but I don't quite get your hype." Well... let's say he changed his mind after the final episode and thanked me for being an annoying bastard who made him watch this anime.
EZ, Girls and Lolis in Bakemonogatari. Thats why its more popular, kappa

Well, the good story keeps you on your toes from the beginning to the end and Katanagatari clearly fails at that. I can't say i didn't like Katanagatari, it is a somewhat a unique experience, but since character development is linear and there is really nothing really special about the episodes of the other swords i can't really say it is very good. I mean all sword stories ARE necessary for the story narration, and they do provide somewhat distinct stories and visuals, but they all follow the "episode formula" nearly to the letter with very minor differences, so in the end you just get bored from watching it, since you know what is gonna happen in the "today's episode".
Togame 100% deserved her death and not achieving her dreams, she used and manipulated anyone she ever came in contact with than ruthlessly killed them and moved on to the next person , she might have fallen in love with Shichika but she was gping to kill him as well because he wanted revenge on kyotouryu, revenge for her father and the trauma she exeperienced, with other words she did not deserve to achieve her goal and even after they were a hieved what would that do? She lived for those goals and after achieving them and losing the obly person she gave 2 shits about would have been dead, so she would either live depressed or killed herself. She was never a character that could have a happy ending and the happiest endings for her would still be a tragedy.
@@niklaseraph8299 also he didnt kill the princess because he saw no reason to, even if she was the one who killed her she s not the one who made her waste her life in an atempt to get back what she lost, she even says that he liked togame in the end and while you can see them always arguing with different circumstances they might have been friends (at least imo). You can see that he has no real problems with her since in the ending they travel together for some time.

Really good anime, worth watching, top ending and this was a good amv
love how majority of the other fighters he faced were just stomped on
well the might have been the most competent fighters of(i think it was the shogun) but compared to the fighters that possesed the swords originally they have no idea what they are doing (and those lost against him as well even with the stipulation that he may not break the swords or put himselfe in danger)
The issue is that they were given what were supposedly the greatest swords ever made which made them feel like they had to use them but they only had like a day to learn how to use them against someone who specialized in sword-breaking techniques that had just lost all of his reasons for holding back. In other words, they falsely believed that the swords would give them an advantage but their lack of knowledge on how to use them was fatal against an opponent who had already defeated every single one of these swords in the hands of more skilled users and with more restrictions on themselves.
Fack! Why youtube recommended this to me? I didn't want to remember that ending.... But anyway, WHAT A MASTERPIECE! That last episode make my blood boil no matter how many times I watch it.

I don't care about anime - too busy reading novels on RR or whatever I will be reading later, but I like the story that was shown by this combination of music and visual. If AMV of code geas show the story of the man who choose the fate to oppose the world and die this tell about the man who became the demon cause he have nothing to lose anymore. AMVs are treasury of stories said by both video and audio.

I believe it depends on the person but I personally like AMV´s with little editing and that is why most of my videos have a small amount of editing.

When someone edit videos so hard, that the events and the original meaning become unrecognizable, it is indeed ruin the experience.
Its not like i blame you for lack of editing, no. As i said the AMV is brilliant. I simply pointed out that you didn't change much from original (aside for obvious). Which doesn't make AMV any worse.
Its okay I didn´t think anything like that I just thought I would explain why the video has such minimal editing.

I just notice one thing !!! i watched this anime a year ago now so umm i notice this in this amv at 5:25 the princess girl wearing her servant monzae face mask thing and shichika wearing Togame's hair tail thing to remember their fallen friend / lover and despite being enemy now traveling together tho if i remember i wanted Shichika to kill that princess so bad cus i hated her for killing togame like why why she had to die :'V for fk sake why every character i like has to die :'V
